A noun entry: Wizard

The Dream Clan is an alchemical life form composed of spiritual energy, yet capable of maintaining a physical body.

From their appearance, they were just blurry human figures with no face and completely white bodies.

It has no human characteristics, but maintains a human shape; it's unknown which ancient wizard had this perverse sense of humor.

In contrast, there is the Nightmare Clan, whose entire bodies are blurry black humanoids.

Many wizards have tried to find the connection between these two races, which are so similar, but to no avail.

They cannot combine to produce offspring.

Alternatively, Dream Clan members can unite in beautiful dreams to produce offspring, while Nightmare Clan members require a nightmare environment to produce offspring.

The two sides couldn't even get together.

Upon dissection and study, it was found that their internal properties were completely opposite, with nothing in common.

After a long period of research, the wizards believe that the Dream Clan and the Nightmare Clan may indeed have been just a control experiment created by ancient wizards.

They might create a completely new race based on the characteristics of two races, but this is beyond the comprehension of modern wizards.

Perhaps there are still wizards conducting research in this area, but no one knows what the results will be.

This is how normal wizarding research is conducted.

Bernard's research on soul runes was only published after it was successfully completed.

This shocked the entire Wizarding Association!

Countless wizard apprentices began to switch to studying soul runes, even causing a period of wizard "boom".

The boom period only gradually ended after the most outstanding group of wizard apprentices were promoted to wizards.

These wizard apprentices eventually became second-tier wizards, with the best among them, such as Bernard and Andre, even becoming third-tier wizards!

Yes, Bernal, who invented the epoch-making Soul Runes, was just a wizarding apprentice at the time!

Yet he accomplished something that even a fourth-tier wizard couldn't do.

……

"The Dream Clan is composed of spiritual power, so mental and soul magic can inflict extremely terrifying damage on them."

"Elemental spells, and other spells that attack from the material level, will be weakened."

"The exact values still need to be studied before they can be determined. However, there are individual differences among Dream Clan members, and the values for each Dream Clan member are different."

Russell took out several simple tools and began to study the Dream Clan in his hands.

The border between the Wizard's territory and the Dream Clan's territory.

This is a long mountain range known as the Witch Dream Mountains, which is also the site of battles between wizards and the Dream Clan.

Currently, neither side has deployed first-tier warriors for combat, so the Wumeng Mountains are now mostly populated by second- and third-tier wizard apprentices and Dream Clan members.

As for first-level wizard apprentices and Dream Clan members?

If you want to die, you don't need to come all the way to the Wumeng Mountains. Just find a rope and hang yourself from a roof beam; it will have the same effect.

"Although the Dream Clan is a race that relies on spiritual power, they have a racial flaw: their spiritual power is not as strong as that of wizard apprentices of the same level."

"Even if few wizard apprentices master mental magic, they can still suppress the Dream Clan, who rely on numbers."

Russell simply disassembled the Dream Clan, stuffed them into jars, soaked them in nutrient solution, and ensured the Dream Clan's body remained active.

Then put it into the storage artifact.

"After collecting a few more Dreamfolk, we can return to the Wizard's Fortress and conduct some research first."

To make himself look more like prey, Russell slightly activated the True Spirit Rune, suppressing his level from level three to level two.

Not far afterward, they saw three blurry human figures approaching together in the woods.

The Dream Clan usually acts in groups, and only those who are confident in their own strength will act alone.

Just like the Dream Clan that Russell encountered earlier.

Then he killed him casually.

Russell didn't even use any magic; he simply released his spiritual power, which, though concealed, was still at the level of a King Soul.

A level 3 Dream Clan member was thus killed by the shockwave.

"We killed too quickly just now, we need to be more careful this time."

Russell raised his hand, and instantly the water elements in the air condensed, turning into streams of water that entangled the three Dream Clan members in front of him.

They struggled to break free, letting out hoarse roars, and invisible mental waves impacted Russell's soul.

No, it wasn't an impact.

These mental fluctuations were dispelled by Russell's own soul fluctuations before they even got close to Russell's King Soul.

It could be said that even if he stood there and let these Dream Clan members attack him, he wouldn't be able to harm Russell in the slightest.

The water flowed around and swept over the Dream Clan's bodies, quickly forming three large bubbles that enveloped them.

"Dream Clan is different from humans; their only weakness is the mental core in their brain."

"Once the spiritual core collapses, the Dream Clan will perish."

"The power of the King's Soul was too strong before, directly shattering the opponent's spiritual core. We need to be careful this time."

Russell released a wisp of mental energy that he had diluted countless times, probing into the Dream Clan's body and enveloping their mental core.

Then gently crush it.

Feel the various changes that occur to the Dream Clan when their spiritual core shatters.

"Similar to the human heart, except that one pumps blood throughout the body, the spiritual core pumps spiritual energy throughout the body."

"Once the spiritual core is shattered, the Dream Clan will die because they can no longer transmit spiritual power."

"After the Dream Clan dies, their bodies are completely spiritual entities, which are of great research value."

Russell then used various methods to kill the other two Dream Clan members, recording and analyzing the results.

Then, using the same method, I collected the three Dream Clan members.

He continued searching for traces of the Dream Clan throughout the Witch Dream Mountains, and would quietly avoid any wizard apprentices he encountered.

Russell was confident in his disguise, but there was no need for it; he didn't want to get involved with other wizarding apprentices.

It was a covert operation from the start.

Just quietly collect the Dream Clan members.

After killing twelve more Dreamfolk and disposing of their bodies, Russell quietly returned to the Wizard's Fortress.

To conduct research on the Dream Clan.

Although there were no samples of first-tier Dream Clan members, Russell could still gain enough from these dozen or so second- and third-tier Dream Clan members.

A month later.

"Based on the aura of the Dream Clan, we can determine their strength and location. At most, we should be able to detect the methods of a third-tier Dream Clan member."

"A soul spell specifically designed for Dream Clan members, but its effectiveness against first-tier Dream Clan members cannot be guaranteed."

"Based on the mental fluctuations of the Dream Clan, spells specifically designed to defend against these mental fluctuation attacks are also unable to guarantee effectiveness against first-tier Dream Clan members."

Reconnaissance, attack, and defense.

In just one month, Russell completed his analysis of the Dream Clan and developed a strategy to address it.

The only problem is the lack of Dream Clan samples of first order and above, making it impossible to determine the effect.

But this is also easy to solve.

Once Russell enters the Dream Clan's territory, he can collect a few first-tier Dream Clan members and conduct comparative experiments to perfect the system.

"We can set off now." Russell stretched his somewhat stiff body.
