Chapter 63 Deep into the Dream Clan's Territory

For wizards, creating or practicing a new spell no longer requires constructing a spell model.

Instead, it condenses magical runes.

Just like Russell condensing the True Spirit Rune, or an ordinary wizard condensing the Soul Rune.

They all need to "destroy" the core model of meditation, and then rebuild from the ashes, condensing the true spirit/soul runes on the basis of the core model of meditation.

Therefore, there is an absolute difference between first-order spells and zero-order spells.

Like Russell's Water Elemental Bubble, which is said to be a simplified first-order spell, but when Russell truly advanced to the first-order wizard...

Only then did I realize that this description was just something boasted by wizard apprentices who couldn't understand the power of first-tier spells.

Zero order is zero order; it can never reach the level of first order.

Ok.

The premise is that it does not involve true spirit wizards.

Using True Spirit Runes to activate it, a zero-level spell can be enhanced to a first-level spell.

Of course, this only applies to the seven zero-order spells that constitute the True Spirit Rune. Other zero-order spells are beyond the reach of the True Spirit Rune.

"How exactly did wizard apprentices in ancient times manage to cast true first-tier spells?"

Russell was deep in thought when, without realizing it, he arrived in the Witch Dream Mountains, near the Dream Clan's fortress.

"Oh? We're already here?" Russell snapped out of his daze, activating the True Spirit Runes to suppress and alter his soul aura.

As a True Spirit Wizard who has studied sixteen Dream Clan members, Russell has been able to mimic the soul aura of the Dream Clan.

No, it should be said that it is a fluctuation in the core of the spirit.

The Dream Clan has no soul.

Even if a Holy Spirit Wizard reaches the level of a god, he cannot create a life with a soul out of thin air.

The only substitute is something like a spiritual core.

Russell, radiating the core spiritual energy of the Dream Clan, calmly walked towards the Dream Clan fortress, clad in a black robe.

Like most alchemical life forms, the Dream Clan does not develop sentience before advancing to the next rank.

Like most races, they lack intelligence and are not recognized as Dream Clan members by the Dream Clan.

They were simply used as cannon fodder and thrown into the Wumeng Mountains.

As for whether the Dream Clan has developed intelligence, the simplest way is to see if they are wearing clothes.

Shame is something that only intelligent beings can develop.

That's right, the Dream Clan members Russell encountered before weren't wearing clothes; they simply displayed their white bodies.

Exposed to the outside.

Fortunately, although the Dream Clan's form is based on humans, it is only represented as a vague humanoid shape.

And without any random human organs...

Russell's spiritual essence, coupled with his black robe-clad appearance, perfectly embodies the image of a Dream Clan member who has developed sentience.

The Dream Clan guarding the fortress discovered Russell, but seeing that the witch formation remained inactive, they ignored him.

A Dream Clan member who develops sentience is relatively common.

These Dream Clan members who were not yet at the first rank were sent to the Witch Dream Mountains. Clearly, the Dream Clan's higher-ups hoped to hone some true Dream Clan members.

As for the magic array, the Dream Clan has dealt with wizards for so many years, so they have naturally acquired a lot of knowledge belonging to wizards.

For example, this mental fluctuation magic array.

This is a pure mental energy magic array, and the Dream Clan happens to be a mental energy alchemy life race, so they can naturally set it up.

The effect is quite simple: it detects the fluctuations in the core of the mind to determine whether the other party is a Dream Clan member.

If so, then you can come and go as you please in the fortress without any restrictions.

If not, the inevitable outcome would be being besieged and killed by a massive number of Dream Clan members.

Even the wizards themselves didn't know that True Spirit Wizards possessed the ability to alter their own soul aura, let alone the Dream Clan. Therefore, they were very confident in the Wizard Array.

The two first-tier Dream Clan members on duty chatted and laughed with each other, and Russell walked into the Dream Clan fortress right under their noses.

"Hello, new Dream Clan member." Not long after, a Dream Clan member, also dressed in black robes, walked towards Russell.

Russell stood there, stunned, without making a move.

The Black-Robed Dream Clan did not feel offended by Russell's attitude; after all, who hasn't been ignorant at some point?

The Dream Clan are alchemical beings without inherited memories, so each new Dream Clan member needs guidance from other Dream Clan members.

The two first-tier Dream Clan members on guard seemed to ignore Russell, but they still reported his information.

This prompted the Black-Robed Dream Clan, who had received the information, to arrive and guide Russell.

"Come with me, I'll first teach you how to express your meaning using mental fluctuations."

"The black-robed Dream Clan member said."

The Dream Clan has no mouth, nor any organs for making sounds, so they communicate through mental fluctuations.

This is also the method used for communication between countless unfamiliar races.

You can use mental fluctuations to convey what you want to say. They may not understand what you are saying, but they can make the other person understand what you are trying to express directly.

Russell followed the black-robed Dream Clan member to their room and began receiving instruction.

The black-robed Dream Clan continued to release their spiritual fluctuations, and Russell received a series of messages.

This information includes the history of the Dream Clan, their hatred of wizards, their writing system, and their methods of using spiritual power, among other things.

Russell was like a dry sponge absorbing water, frantically absorbing knowledge about the Dream Clan.

"Alright, go back and digest this information yourself."

The black-robed Dream Clan member looked slightly tired. "You have awakened your intelligence, which means you are not too far from the first rank. Hurry up and advance."

"Whether you want to stay in the Dream Clan Fortress or go and take a look at our Dream Clan territory, it's up to you."

"The Dream Clan needs more Dream Clan members to support them."

"Thank you."

Russell emitted a raw, unrefined spiritual energy fluctuation.

"Alright, go down now." The black-robed Dream Clan member nodded in satisfaction.

Russell then left the room of the black-robed Dream Clan.

He did not make a move.

This is, after all, a Dream Clan fortress, a border region where they fight against the Wizards, and where most of the Dream Clan's fighting force is concentrated.

There's nothing we can do; the Dream Clan's spiritual bodies, aside from being countered by wizards, are overwhelmingly superior to other races.

On the entire continent, there are only a handful of races that are proficient in the soul, and they don't even border the Dream Clan.

If it weren't for the wizards who resisted the Dream Clan, their territory would have expanded by who knows how much.

"Based on my perception, this fortress alone has over a hundred second-tier warriors and ten third-tier warriors."

Russell secretly gasped.

There's only one Tier 3 commander stationed at the Wizard Fortress.

There are only seventeen Tier 3 wizards in the entire Wizarding Association!

However, the third-tier warrior residing in the Wizard Fortress alone is enough to overpower ten third-tier warriors of the Dream Clan.

Is the Dream Clan so overwhelmed with third-tier powerhouses that they sent them to the Dream Clan Fortress?

of course not.

Instead, if they don't send ten third-tier warriors to guard the fortress, that third-tier wizard will directly storm the fortress!

"Dream Clan Fortress, I will return."

Russell sensed the Dream Clan's aura again and felt that it was just one after another "experience pack" of dust.

I am very reluctant to part with it.

However, it will take some time to develop before you can acquire these experience packs.

Russell glanced back at the Dream Clan fortress one last time before stepping onto the vast territory of the Dream Clan.
