Forests Don't Support Idle Goblins

Chapter 154, 7th Forest Field Corps

"Little Claw, we've discovered a ruin, an underground cemetery," Charles said with a smile to the "Bathing" crawling claw.

"Cemetery? You mean you've found my owner?" Upon hearing this, Little Paw immediately jumped out of the glass tank, even excitedly throwing two of its fingers off.

"I'm not sure, so I came back to tell you first," Charles quickly went over, picked up the two finger bones, and handed them back to Little Paw. "Don't get excited. There are skeleton warriors guarding that cemetery. They are very powerful. I think maybe they are protecting your master, but it's also possible that they aren't."

Previously, the Claw of the Creepers had told Sharl that his master was a lich who had lived for a very long time. It seemed that the other party must be very powerful, and it was reasonable for him to summon several skeleton warriors to help him guard.

"My master is very powerful; he's studied ancient magic, so summoning skeleton warriors is indeed easy for him." The Wriggling Claw raised its middle finger and nodded a few times. "So, shall we go over now?"

"Sure, but since you're about to meet your master, aren't you going to dress yourself up a bit?" Charles smiled and pulled out a black leather glove from behind his back. "This was specially prepared for you; it looks very trendy."

"Thank you for thinking so much about me." The crawling claw controlled its bones and quickly burrowed into the punk-style leather glove that revealed five fingers, instantly giving it a rebellious look. "This feels a little different, a bit like when I still had flesh and blood."

"It looks pretty good." Charles looked at the little paws that were "clothed" and thought it was good too. At least this way the bones wouldn't be messed up when they fell.

"Wait a minute, I'll go tell those goblins to prepare some other herbs." Director Claw didn't forget his work before leaving.

Soon, the goblins set off again, heading straight for the cemetery ruins.

When they arrived again, Charles carefully circled the entrance several times. He didn't see any skeleton footprints on the ground, meaning the skeleton warriors inside the ruins hadn't escaped. "So it does seem like they were guarding something."

Moreover, after the Crawling Claw arrived here, it seemed to sense the presence of the undead, and its entire hand began to swing happily.

"You're finally able to meet your master, aren't you happy?" Charles said, squatting down as he looked at Little Paw.

"I only sensed the presence of the undead, not my master yet, but I still need to go in and take a look." Little Paw crawled forward a few steps, then turned to look at Charles.

"No? Perhaps he's still asleep in the sarcophagus," Charles raised an eyebrow in surprise, but immediately turned to his men and ordered, "Open the door for Little Paw."

"Do you need our help? We don't know if those skeleton warriors will attack you." He walked over to Little Paw and asked. If the other party was not Little Paw's master's guard, then there was indeed danger.

However, the icon for this relic on the territory map is a question mark, not the twin swords, so Charles felt that it might not be that dangerous.

"I'll go take a look first. Undead can communicate with each other too." Seeing that Red Eyes and Little John had pushed the stone door open a crack, Crawler Claw scrambled down the slope and slipped into the ruins.

"Run immediately if anything happens," Charles instructed Little Paw, while signaling the two people at the door to be ready to assist him. He didn't want anything to happen to his "Director of Pharmaceuticals."

"Bang!" The sound of coffin lids falling off echoed through the tomb, as the skeleton warriors crawled out.

Then the tomb was quiet. There were no sounds of metal clashing, and no skeleton warriors rushed out of the tomb.

"They've probably been torn to pieces by those skeleton warriors, haven't they?" Charles craned his neck, straining to peer through the crack in the door into the dark tomb. "If they don't come out soon, we'll have to rush in to save Claw."

After a few more quiet minutes, just as Charles was about to order an inspection inside, a bony claw scurried out.

"Little Paws?" Charles stared at the crawling claws on the ground. "Did they strip you naked?"

"No, uh, it's hard to explain in a sentence." The little paw circled around on the ground a few times. "Come in with me, you can get a torch."

"Okay." Charles thought for a moment and decided to listen to Little Paw. After all, he would help Little Paw find a master and wouldn't harm him. However, he also secretly prepared two magic scrolls.

Upon entering the tomb, Charles stopped in his tracks in fright. A dozen skeleton warriors surrounded the stone door, some sitting, some standing, some casually carrying longswords, and others using their rusty swords as canes. But they all had one thing in common: they were all staring at him with two green, ghostly eyes.

"Warriors, is there anything you wish to say?" Charles scanned the gray skeletons, and his eyes caught sight of the glove he had given to Little Claw in the hand of one of the skeleton warriors.

"Crackling," a sound of bones grinding together, and a skeleton warrior came to Sharl. He looked down at the goblin in front of him, then turned to look at the crawling claw. Sharl only saw its jaw move a few times, as if it was communicating with the little claw.

"Should I let Furu in too?" Charles asked after thinking for a moment.

The crawling claw raised a middle finger and then nodded its "head" a few times.

Soon, the large round cake squeezed into the tomb chamber, and then he immediately tried to run out, even though Charles was holding onto the tentacles, he desperately tried to float outwards.

"Bandit, you said there's no danger inside!" Furu cried out, rubbing against the stone door. His eyelids were already filled with tears, and his tentacles were pushing against the air like an octopus, trying to leave the tomb immediately.

"Help me first, there might not be any danger." Charles grabbed Furu's two tentacles and forcefully stopped the other from escaping, while his face was sprayed with air from the nozzle beneath Furu.

After a few seconds of stalemate, Sharl finally "convinced" Furu. He flipped the large round cake over and placed it between himself and the skeleton warrior. Furu was crying and breathing heavily, unable to move.

"That way we can communicate directly," Charles said with a smile.

"Bandits!" Furu roared, writhing on the ground as he did so.

"I'll give you extra money," Charles said.

"bandit."

"Add 10 seashells."

"bandit."

"Three."

"earth……"

"30 is the most I can do, otherwise I can have Xiaozhua relay the message."

"Hero, please speak."

"We are the Seventh Forest Field Battle Group. What kind of creature are you? I've never seen you before." With Furu's addition, the skeleton warriors on the other side could now communicate directly with Shar.

"I am a goblin." Sharl looked up at the skeleton warrior in front of him. Hearing the other's words, he was stunned. He didn't understand what the forest battle group in front of him meant. More importantly, this skeleton warrior seemed to have never seen a goblin before.

That's so strange! There are creatures in this world who have seen goblins, or at least heard of them.

"Goblin? What kind of race is that?" The skeleton warrior scratched his bony head. "Are you a member of the orcs? You look like an underdeveloped green-skinned orc, but aren't all orcs brown-skinned?"

"Uh, I'm a goblin, not an orc." Sharl had to emphasize himself again. He had seen images of orcs in natural history books before, and they were said to live in another dimension.

"What a strange new race," the skeleton warrior shook his head, looking the goblin in front of him up and down. "So, brother, goblin, why did you awaken us?"

"I didn't mean to wake you up. I just saw something here and decided to come down and explore." Charles gestured with his hands, trying to explain his intentions.

"So, you're a bunch of tomb raiders." After saying that, the skeleton warrior raised his longsword with a "snap."

"No, you can't say that. After all, this place has been abandoned for a long time, and it took us a long time to dig open the stone door." Charles quickly stepped back to explain, while also holding the magic scroll behind his back.

"Although you possess the aura of the Holy Kingdom, tomb raiding is not permitted." The skeleton warrior still held his sword, its green, ghostly eyes fixed on Xia Er.

"We were just exploring the ruins, not tomb raiding."

"Remains? This isn't a ruin. This is the burial place of the commander of the 7th Field Regiment. You've come to the wrong place."

"What kind of military organization is the 7th Field Regiment? It sounds pretty impressive."

"Hehehe, there are actually people who haven't heard of our fame," the skeleton warrior put down his longsword, then turned to look at his "comrades" around him. The jaws of the skeletons made a "crunching" sound, as if they were laughing.

"We are the Seventh Forest Field Regiment that withstood the tide of monsters and saved the Southern Fortress with our lives." He slammed his longsword into the ground and proudly declared with his head held high.

"A monster tide?" Sharl's eyes widened. This was the first time he'd ever heard of such a term. "Monsters have monster tides? Aren't they easy to deal with?"

"Easy to deal with?" The skeleton warrior looked down at the goblins in front of him. "A few would be easy, but what if there are hundreds or thousands?"

"This... I've never heard of so many magical beasts gathering here before." Xia Er rubbed his temples. He felt that the two of them seemed to be discussing the same thing. Those magical beasts always appeared in pairs or one or two at a time, and he still had more than a dozen beast cores stored in the chest in the fortress.

He thought for a moment, then looked into the ghostly eyes of the skeleton warrior and asked seriously, "When did you all sacrifice yourselves?"

"The Tide of Monsters in December of the 374th year of the Holy Calendar," the skeleton warrior said, enunciating each word clearly. The other skeleton warriors, leaning on their longswords, slowly formed a row.

"The Holy Calendar?" Charles was stunned.
