Forests Don't Support Idle Goblins
Chapter 205 The Mother Tree's Advice

"Rose, see you next time." Bucktooth closed the notebook in his hand, put away the charcoal pencil, and then raised his hand to cast a "Natural Wind" on the treant in front of him. As the magic took effect, the branches on the treant's head trembled continuously, and it slowly opened its eyes, glancing at the goblin who turned and left.
Today marks the end of my memories of maintaining this area of the Tree People. With the departure of those goblins, the forest is no longer noisy and has returned to tranquility.
The remaining fruit of these hundreds of tree people has now been harvested. The goblins simply help the tree people clear away vines and weeds on a daily basis, and also clean up some tree-eating insects. These insects sometimes become snacks for the goblins. When they rest, they will set up a metal plate and roast the insects to eat.
Soon after, a rustling sound broke the tranquility of the Treant area.
Behind the tree, a strange-looking creature slithered among the tree people, cautiously looking around as if searching for something.
"It's right here, so why don't I feel anything?" The fish-headed, human-bodied, snake-tailed creature muttered to itself, then stopped gliding and carefully examined the tree-man in front of it.
"They look like treants, but they're all asleep." He slowly approached, reaching out to stroke the treant in front of him. "Those goblins ahead must have come to get food while they were asleep."
The guy stretched his neck and tried to lift his upper body, while his snake-like lower body also tried to lift up, as if to check if the goblins had gone far away.
"Naga, what are you looking for?" A woman's voice rang in the guy's mind, and he immediately shrank back in fright, pressing himself tightly against the treant next to him.
Because of his movement, the sleeping tree-man opened one eye and looked at the strange creature beside him.
"Who is speaking?" The Naga kept turning his head to look around, trying to find the "woman" who was speaking to him.
"I am the mother tree of the Treefolk," the voice continued. "What are you searching for, Naga?"
"Mother Tree, is it really the Mother Tree?" Naga's tone became joyful upon hearing the other's words. He took out a strange animal skin from the leather jacket he was wearing. "I want to see you, Mother Tree. I have come here to pay homage to you, guided by the natural will we worship."
"The will of nature?" After the mother tree repeated the sentence, two tree roots emerged from the ground beside Naga and quickly formed a strange "round gate" in front of him.
Naga looked at the two intertwined tree roots in front of him. He knew that he could see the mother tree as long as he passed through the "tree root gate" in front of him. However, he still looked down at the animal skin in his hand before slithering through the gate.
As soon as he passed through, Naga felt as if he had passed through a curtain of water, like jumping into water from land. The scenery before him also changed dramatically. He was surrounded by fallen leaves, and a thick tree stood not far away.
"The Mother Tree?" Naga asked.
The voice rang out again, "It's me, Naga. What brings you here?"
Naga quickly bowed to the mother tree. "My name is Pazari, and I am a prince of the Naga clan. I have come here because of the guidance I received from the will of nature during a previous tribal sacrifice."
"This is also my coming-of-age trial," he said, taking out the piece of unknown animal hide and spreading it out towards the large tree in front of him. He even tried to slide forward a few steps to make the tree more visible, but he muttered to himself, "I wonder how this tree can see, or if it can even see me."
"I understand, Pazzani," the Mother Tree's voice rang out again, and it even seemed to be smiling. "Your coming-of-age trial?"
"Yes, the elders of the tribe told me to follow the instructions on the animal hide, and once I finished, my trial to adulthood would be over." Pazzani's tone revealed a hint of relief. "Now I have successfully found you, and my trial is over."
"No, young prince, the writing on the animal skin is not as you say," said the mother tree. As she spoke, a gentle breeze stirred, and a few fallen leaves on the ground were swept up.
"No?" Pazzani paused for a moment, then immediately brought the animal hide to his eyes. The ink on it looked like many tadpoles swimming in the middle of the hide, and soon they gathered together again to form a new prompt—"Get advice from the mother tree."
"I knew it wouldn't be that simple." Pazzani sighed deeply, and his entire upper body visibly collapsed.
"So, Naga, what advice would you like to hear?" Mother Tree said with a smile, and you could tell she was chuckling.
"That's right," Pazzani straightened his back and looked at the big tree in front of him. "Our people are being harassed by goblins. They keep attacking us and taking my people away. This has been going on for a long time."
"A bunch of goblins?" After the Naga prince finished speaking, the Mother Tree asked, "What kind of goblins?"
"They are numerous, and we have been fighting them, but these goblins are very powerful. They can even dive underwater, and it seems that our water magic is not very effective against them."
"The will of nature?" the mother tree murmured, as if she knew what the other was referring to. "The whispers of the forest have brought new friends."
"What whisper?" Pazzani asked immediately.
"Young Naga, I already know what you seek," the Mother Tree spoke, her tone light. "You were sent to me by the forest, and I will offer you useful advice."
"Is that so? That's wonderful." Pazzani's tone was delighted. "As long as I bring your advice back to my tribe, my trial should be over."
"My suggestion is to meet with the goblin leaders in the Treant region; they will help you."
"Yes, thank you very much." Pazzani nodded quickly. "I'll go back and tell the elders right away."
"But I think you should take a look at that animal hide first," the mother tree reminded her again.
"Animal hide?" Pazzani was taken aback, then seemed to realize something. He quickly unfolded the hide and found that the writing on it had changed again—
"Do as the mother tree suggests."
