Forests Don't Support Idle Goblins

Chapter 329 Yes, it was me who did it.

Tilting its head, looking at the feathered serpent god with its head held high before it, it thought, "It's just a demonic beast transformed from a wicked god."

The more relaxed it appeared, the angrier the feathered serpent on the other side became. It raised its head, its mouth crackling with electricity, and then spat out a thick current of electricity.

With a "sizzle," lightning blasted up a cloud of dust from the ground, and the acrid air mixed with smoke filled the surroundings, completely burying the body.

"Hiss—", the feathered serpent flicked its tongue, glancing contemptuously at the cloud of dust.

Then, it flapped its wings, preparing to fly into the air and strike the fleeing goblins with lightning.

But after flapping its wings a few times, its eyes looked at the smoke and dust again, and its intuition told it that the enemy from before seemed to still be there.

"Such a powerful lightning spell is indeed impressive." The voice rang out again from the smoke and dust, clearly indicating that the annoying "goblin" was still there.

The feathered serpent stared intently at the smoke and dust. As the forest breeze blew, the smoke and dust quickly dissipated, and it finally revealed its body again.

Unlike its previous form, this clone now resembled a goblin torn into pieces and then pieced back together. Although it retained a humanoid appearance, many parts of its body were missing. It blinked its left eye, a slight smile playing on its lips, and said, "You can become my opponent."

Quetzalcoatl's eyes were fixed on the "goblin" standing in place. Its intuition told it that this enemy was not simple. Even though the other party had the appearance of a goblin, its left thigh had disappeared, but its left calf was still standing on the ground. The right side of its abdomen had completely disappeared, and you could even see the writhing internal organs inside. Its left arm had also retained the upper arm and above, but the forearm had disappeared. Even more impressive was the head. The entire right side of its face, along with the top of its head, had disappeared without a trace.

Even so, the goblin remained standing calmly in place, its smile conveying the message, "I'm fine, there's no problem."

An ordinary goblin that had become like this would have been dead beyond any doubt long ago. "Who are you?"

"Me? I'm just a child looking for lost items." It spread its arms and said with a smile, but from the outside, its movements were unusually strange.

"Child?" A cold glint flashed in the eyes of the Feathered Serpent God. This answer was clearly a perfunctory one, but it was even more confident in its own strength. "Crackling," the sound of electricity rang out again, and lightning flashed in the Feathered Serpent God's mouth once more. It planned to spew lightning a few more times to see how many parts of this strange "goblin" would be left in the end.

"So irritable," He shook his head and said calmly, "Don't you feel how cold it is at night?"

Its only left eye had now turned red and blue, and the two colors were constantly intertwining and changing, like colors poured into a paint palette, revealing a psychedelic and eerie quality.

Upon hearing these words, Quetzalcoatl stopped moving, and its cold, serpentine eyes gradually became unfocused, as if it had fallen into some kind of illusion.

"It's so cold in winter." With a smile, it even hugged its arms and shivered slightly, saying, "You can feel it too, right? After all, you're a snake, it must be very uncomfortable to be this cold."

After uttering several sentences, Quetzalcoatl arched its body, no longer showing hostility, and instead lowered its raised head.

"Don't do that, you can warm yourself up." As it continued speaking, it took a step forward. In its left eye, red and blue light began to spin rapidly, and at the same time, an invisible wave of energy gradually spread outwards. "You're cold. Warm yourself up."

As soon as he finished speaking, Quetzalcoatl raised his head again, his mouth flashing with intense electric light. Then, he lowered his head and spewed electricity directly at his body.

A series of crackling sounds rang out as the electric current struck the feathered serpent's body directly, quickly shattering several scales that flew off and scattered in all directions.

But Quetzalcoatl seemed oblivious, continuing to spew lightning, the current sweeping from its body all the way to its tail, leaving its entire body covered in wounds.

It still smiled at Quetzalcoatl, its left eye still spinning, its whole body remaining in a "tattered" state, completely still.

"Hiss—", a painful breath rang out, and Quetzalcoatl finally broke free from the illusion. It raised its head, its eyes filled with venom as it stared at the "goblin" before it. "Who are you?"

The pain in its body made its voice tremble slightly, but it still managed a smile. "Not bad, you actually managed to break free from my 'Devil's Voice'."

A flicker of fear flashed in Quetzalcoatl's eyes. Then it unleashed a powerful burst of electricity and, before Quetzalcoatl could react, flapped its wings and soared into the sky.

"Very clever." The voice rang out again from the smoke and dust, causing Quetzalcoatl to tremble once more. Without pausing, it flapped its wings and sped off towards the east.

"They ran pretty fast." The dust slowly dissipated. It reappeared, this time with even fewer parts of its body remaining. But strangely, even though its body was broken in two, it still retained the shape and appearance of a goblin.

"We can't catch up." It gazed into the distance, making sure the Feathered Serpent God had escaped far enough, before turning its tattered "body" and looking at Ciel with a hint of trepidation.

After staring at it for a while, it realized that this goblin was just like an ordinary goblin. The huge, divine eyes in front of it were gone, and the divine aura was as if it had never been there at all.

"Strange, that powerful divinity... it feels like only the god who created me could possess it." He muttered to himself, "Why can't I sense it at all now? Could it be that it's not because of this goblin, but because of this place?"

It stared at the goblin in front of it and walked over.

…………

After regaining consciousness from that dark space, Ciel was in a daze. When he saw Quetzalcoatl using his clones to slaughter his subordinates, he blurted out his thoughts in a moment of panic.

However, his mind was still a bit fuzzy. By the time he came to his senses, the clone he saw had already walked forward and was facing Quetzalcoatl.

He witnessed the entire battle from behind, until the feathered serpent god escaped.

As he approached him, Sharl smiled for the first time. "Great Forest God, thank you for saving my people."

He looked at himself from head to toe with his only left eye, and it felt strange. After all, although the creature in front of him still had the body of a goblin, it could only be described as "a few parts that were barely there." Its abdomen had disappeared, and its entire chest and above seemed to be floating on its hip bones.

"strangeness." He looked Charles up and down and said.

Upon hearing the other person's mutterings, Charles recalled that he seemed to have unconsciously given the order earlier. This made him feel a sense of panic. "We finally managed to drive away the feathered serpent. We mustn't let the jackals be driven away only to be greeted by a hungry tiger."

Thinking of this, Charles immediately smiled. "Great Forest God, I don't know why, but I think I fell asleep for a moment just now."

As he spoke, he glanced at himself to confirm that the [Curse of Mass Language] was still in effect, and then exclaimed, "I never expected that when I woke up, I would see you defeat Quetzalcoatl."

It stood quietly in place, listening intently to what Charles said, a slight smile playing on its lips. He was still observing Charles with great interest.

"Thanks to you, we were able to complete the occupation of this area. I think there must be something here. I will immediately organize people to patrol the entire area."

After Charles finished speaking, He tilted his head slightly and said in a teasing tone, "You're quite interesting."

These words startled Charles. If he were to face the Demon Lord now, the outcome would be dire; losing his life would be the least of his worries.

He tried his best to maintain a smile on his face, keeping his expression unchanged, and continued to smile as he looked at... .

After looking at Ciel several more times, It finally finished scrutinizing the goblin in front of it. The powerful divinity it had felt before was now completely gone. It was now certain that the goblin had simply become a vessel for some kind of power by accident. After all, there was no trace of divinity left behind, which just didn't make sense.

"Search this area carefully." He turned around, no longer looking at the goblin, and instead walked arrogantly toward the distant shards of mirror. "Perhaps there will be some unexpected discoveries here."

"Yes, great forest god," Charles said loudly, his eyes never leaving his clone.

"That evil god shouldn't be coming back; I've severely damaged it." Walking to the shards of mirror, his left eye swept over Ciel again. "Don't forget the commission you signed, Green..."

For a moment, it almost forgot the name of the goblin in front of it, but it didn't matter; it was just a goblin. He gave a disdainful laugh, and then, like a rapidly shrinking balloon, he quickly disappeared into a shard of mirror on the ground.

"The Forest God?" Sharl asked several times after returning to the Mirror World. Only after confirming that the other party's mark had disappeared from the domain map did he sigh deeply, "Finally safe."

Thinking back to the previous battle between the clone and the Feathered Serpent God, when neither of them was in their complete form, it was clear that the Demon Lord was stronger.

The "Demon's Voice" he used made Charles feel a little scared. He had controlled an evil god with just words, and this was only by the power of his clone. If he had used the "Demon's Voice" on him earlier, he might have found out about his hidden abilities.

"However, it seems that..." "The situation isn't good either." Sharl glanced at the shards of mirror on the ground. This guy always deliberately maintained a goblin appearance whenever he appeared, and judging from what he'd said before, it was clear that other humans had also signed contracts with him. So when he met other contractors, he should also maintain the same appearance as them. "This time, his body was damaged to such an extent, and it hasn't recovered yet. Is it because his power has been affected, or is it simply impossible to recover?"

He stroked his chin, frowning slightly. "And what did they say before they left? What unexpected discoveries might we find here?"

He wasn't sure what he had noticed, but he thought back to what had happened before, caused by the angry horns. Could there be other "parts" of demon lords here?

Thinking about this, Charles felt a headache coming on. It would be best if it were the eyes of the demon lord or the parts of the jealousy, but there were six demon lords. If he got his hands on anything from the other demon lords, it would be troublesome.

"Forget it, we'll only know if we actually dig it out." Charles sighed, then composed himself and ran quickly into the distance. He hadn't seen Pazzani since he was knocked away; he hoped nothing bad had happened to him.

Just as Charles ran over, a voice called out to him, "Chief, you really are our chief."

The sound made Charles stop in his tracks, and then he saw the high priest, carrying a bone staff, running up to Charles with a speed beyond his years.

"Uh, you're still alive?" Charles asked, looking at the high priest who was covered in dust and dirt.

"Thank the gods, I am still alive. Quetzalcoatl's avatar did not hit me," the high priest said with lingering fear. He looked as if he had just been dug out of the ground, covered in mud from head to toe. This made Charles think, "Did you old bastard just crawl into a hole?"

"How's the feathered serpent's clone doing?"

"They turned into red liquid again," the high priest said, his eyes shining as he looked at Charles. "We suffered some casualties, but that doesn't matter. Without your presence, they might not have had any survivors."

"No, I didn't do anything," Charles quickly waved his hand and said.

"No, brother, I saw it all just now." A voice rang out from afar, and Prince Naga, clutching his chest, moved closer with a trembling voice.

"Are you alright?" Charles quickly took a few steps and asked.

"I sustained some injuries, but thankfully I used my Ice Shield to block it earlier, otherwise I might have really been pierced through by that lightning." Pazzani spat out a mouthful of blood and said in a muffled voice, "Brother, I saw it all. How dare you face the Feathered Serpent God directly."

"Me? Face it?" Charles was taken aback and pointed to himself.

"Yes, I saw it when I was lying on the ground." Pazzani nodded heavily, but the movement aggravated the wounds on his chest and abdomen.

"I saw it too," the high priest beside him said. "Although I only saw the beginning and then hid, after Quetzalcoatl fled, I saw you standing alone in the same spot, like a victor."

"Me? The victor?" Charles looked at the high priest, then at Pazzani. He suddenly realized that these two must have mistaken his clone for himself, and in the smoke and dust from the lightning, they couldn't tell them apart at all.

"Listen to me, things aren't what you think," Charles tried to explain to the two that what they saw wasn't the whole battle. But when he thought about the consequences of what he said, and the fact that he had signed a commission to find the eyes, he hesitated for a moment, wondering if it would cause further problems.

"Yes, I did it." He nodded and said with a wry smile.

"With just a few words, I finally persuaded Quetzalcoatl to seek a better position elsewhere."
