Forests Don't Support Idle Goblins

Chapter 47 That Damn Goblin

Shas took the healing potion that Gar handed him and gulped it all down.

"Captain, what's going on with those goblins? I heard they rarely gather in such large numbers." Shas took out a bandage and wrapped it around his arm.

"I don't know. I've encountered large groups of goblins before, but these were different." Gal said, panting heavily as he held his back. "Not to mention the exploding black spheres, the goblin I fought was really strange. His wounds healed incredibly quickly."

"Healing?" Shas exclaimed in surprise.

"Yes, and he's stronger than me, and just as agile."

"Sounds like a goblin bear," Shas said.

"But his size doesn't resemble that of a goblin at all." The dwarf Gulemang slumped to the ground.

"That's why I said they're weird." Garr straightened up, glanced into the distance to make sure no goblins were chasing them, and said, "I think they're even harder to deal with than the Deinonychus."

"I'd rather face the Deinonychus than deal with so many Black Orbs again. Who knows how many more they have?" Shas said, supporting his injured arm with lingering fear.

"Perhaps these goblins performed some evil ritual, which is why they possess such strange abilities," Gar said.

"Yes, it must be. These insects deep in the forest, who knows what ancient power they've provoked," the dwarf exclaimed. He had been rolling around on the ground, feeling incredibly frustrated.

"We need to report this to the guild quickly," Shas said, looking at his teammates. "I think these goblins deserve another promotion quest from the guild."

Gar thought for a moment and nodded. "I think so too, but we should retrieve Baron's body first."

"Alright, that germaphobe is probably already chopped into pieces and cooked by the goblins." The dwarf tossed his head; he clearly disliked the mage.

"No, Gulemange, he's a teammate after all," Gal said firmly. "Besides, this search will also help us pinpoint the location of these goblins' gathering place."

Seeing that the dwarf did not react, Gar sighed and said, "In that case, let's vote as usual. Raise your hand if you agree to go find Baron."

Only Gar resolutely raised his hand, and then Shas slowly raised his as well.

The dwarf looked at the ranger whose arms were wrapped in bandages and said with a slightly sarcastic tone, "I never knew you were so loyal."

"Alright, Guleman, the captain is right. If we find the goblin's burrow first, then report to the association, we'll be the fastest when the promotion mission is actually issued," Shas said loudly.

"This is much easier than playing hide-and-seek with the Deinonychus alongside those bunch of idiots," Garr added at the opportune moment.

"Alright, you've convinced me." The dwarf jumped up from the ground, bouncing up like an overturned barrel.

"Let's get there quickly, Shas. Stay on high alert." Gal adjusted his pack of weapons.

"No problem, Captain." Shas clenched his fist with his uninjured hand.

The three men quickly walked back, but before they had gone 30 meters, Shas warned his teammates, "There's someone here."

"Shhh," a tall, slender young female mage with black hair and purple eyes walked over from a distance.

"Miss Sebastian!" Gar exclaimed, he could hardly believe his eyes to see her here.

"Who is she? How does the captain know her? Is she his dream girl?" Shas tapped the dwarf's helmet with his elbow.

"Idiot." Gulemang straightened his helmet. "She is Agatha Sebastian, a genius sorceress, a promotion tester specially hired by Plantagenet City."

"Do you know me?" Agatha walked gracefully towards her.

"It was an honor to accompany a friend to their promotion; you were the examiner for that event," Gar said respectfully. "What brings you to the forest?"

"I'll go," Agatha hesitated for a moment, then changed her mind, "I'll go find a group of goblins."

"Goblins?" Gal and his companion exchanged a quick glance. "We're very familiar with this area and can help you. What kind of goblins are you looking for?"

"Ah, just ordinary goblins," Agatha said casually, as if discussing the weather. "They use explosives."

"Isn't that the one we just met?" Shas said bluntly.

Agatha asked "Hmm?" and began to scrutinize the three people opposite her.

"To be honest, we did just encounter these goblins," Garr stepped forward and explained.

"Very good, take me there to see." Agatha smiled, beautiful and charming, like a plum blossom blooming in the snow.

The three exchanged glances and eagerly led the way. Agatha even heard them whispering, "If we help her, we might be able to advance directly." "It will be easier to advance to Bronze in the future." "Shas, you big mouth, don't tell anyone."

The four quickly searched in the same direction they had come from, and soon found Baron lying in a pool of blood.

"Sigh, I knew it," Gar said regretfully. "Search for clues, Shas."

The wandering knight Shas searched around and finally returned, saying, "The footsteps are too scattered to be traced."

The dwarf Gulemang removed his helmet, uttered a dwarven slang phrase, and then began digging a hole beside him, preparing to bury Baron.

"Salemanthuru." Agatha chanted a spell, and with a "whoosh," a pitch-black rift with shimmering blue edges and starlight inside tore through space and appeared in front of the trio.

Then, a giant, translucent, blue snake, as thick as a bucket, swam out of the crack.

"Let's look for it," Agatha said.

The giant snake raised its head, extended its deep blue tongue, and arrived beside Agatha a few seconds later.

"The scents are too mixed to be traced?" Agatha frowned.

The trio stared blankly at the giant serpent. Shas even swallowed hard, now understanding the significance of the "genius warlock" the dwarves had spoken of.

"We can help you search," Garr volunteered.

Agatha didn't even look at him; she simply waved her hand, and Shas behind him was sent flying backward, crashing into a tree trunk.

Then, Agatha said, "Magic Blast."

A flash of green light, and a shockwave suddenly erupted between Gar and the dwarf, knocking them to the ground.

Garr reacted quickly, turning over to find the giant snake coiled around his legs, soon choking him until he could hardly breathe.

"Bang bang!" Multiple bursts of magical energy exploded around the dwarf, and Gulemang, covered in blood, lay motionless on the ground.

"Miss Sebastian?" Gar managed to utter a few syllables before a sound of bones breaking drowned him out.

Agatha said expressionlessly, "Can't even beat goblins, what a waste."

She beckoned, and the giant snake dropped Gar, who was now like a rag doll, and came to her side. Agatha straddled the snake's neck, hugged its body tightly, and the giant snake swam forward quickly.

In the open space, Garr, looking like a tattered rag, the dwarf, covered in blood and gore, Shas, whose throat had been pierced by a thick tree branch, and Balon, covered in mud, were all dead.

After a long time, several forest wolves followed the scent of blood and came over. One of them stepped on a waterproof bag and sank it into the mud.

…………

The lush forest startled a flock of birds into flight.

In a clearing in the woods, a large pit, 3 meters deep, suddenly appeared in the middle.

Agatha jumped off the giant serpent: "This is it."

Guided by the soul connection, she arrived at the location where the Deinonychus had died.

The surroundings were unusually quiet, and the smell in the air was indescribable. Agatha covered her mouth and nose and moved away from the pit in disgust.

"Go to the bottom of the pit and fetch a bone up," she casually ordered the giant snake, preparing to use her secret technique to search for clues.

The giant snake swam into the deep pit, and soon white smoke rose, accompanied by painful hissing sounds and the sound of a huge object hitting the pit wall.

Agatha rushed to the edge of the pit and was shocked to find that her summoned creature was engulfed by the bodily fluids of three slimes, and its body surface was severely corroded.

"Quickly, go back quickly," she said hastily.

The giant snake tore open the crack and swam in quickly, leaving only plumes of white smoke and the foul smell of corrosion in the deep pit.

"Damn goblin!" Agatha gritted her teeth, veins bulging on her forehead, "You dare to plot against me?"

"When I catch you, I'll tear you to pieces."

She roared loudly, startling a large flock of birds into flight.
