Douluo Dragon King: I, Huo Linfei, the Mecha Illusionary Lin God

Chapter 3: The Oath of the Peach Garden, Huo Linfei, Tang Wulin, and Na'er

"Little sister, come with us, we'll take you to find your mom and dad." A blond-haired young man reached out and pulled the girl.

The girl dodged away and looked up.

At that moment, Tang Wulin's heart skipped a beat.

Silver hair and purple eyes, an exquisitely beautiful face that seemed otherworldly, yet those purple eyes were filled with confusion and fear.

"I...I don't know you." The girl's voice was soft and trembling.

"It doesn't matter if you don't know him, you'll get to know him if you come with me." Another young man smiled maliciously.

Tang Wulin was about to rush over without thinking, but someone was faster than him.

"Hey guys, what are you doing?"

The three youths were taken aback. The blond-haired guy narrowed his eyes: "Red-haired kid? You're... Huo Linfei?"

"You know me?" Huo Linfei raised an eyebrow.

"Of course I know him," the blond-haired guy sneered. "He's notorious for being a busybody in the East District. You're the one who beat up my cousin last week, aren't you?"

Huo Linfei thought for a moment: "Oh, you mean that fat guy who snatched candy from a child and hit him? I was the one who beat him up, so what?"

"What else?" the blond-haired guy snapped. "You're pretty arrogant, aren't you! Today I'm taking everything, interest and all!"

Before he could finish speaking, Huo Linfei pointed to the girl on the chair: "You know this girl?"

"none of your business!"

"How can it not concern me?" Huo Linfei grinned, revealing a set of white teeth. "She's my third sister."

The air became quiet.

Even the girl on the chair looked up, her purple eyes filled with confusion.

Tang Wulin covered his face from behind. Here it comes again, Boss Huo is at it again.

Huo Linfei has another hobby: he likes to recognize younger brothers and sisters.

"Your third sister?" The blond-haired man looked at the girl, then at Huo Linfei.

"Do you two look alike? She has silver hair and purple eyes, and you have red hair and green eyes. You're kidding me!"

Huo Linfei remained unfazed: "A half-sister, is that not allowed?"

"You fucking tricked me!" the blond-haired man roared, throwing a punch.

Huo Linfei didn't move.

He simply raised his left hand, and the supernatural lock on his wrist glowed faintly.

Then, a bright yellow spirit ring rose from beneath his feet and slowly rotated.

The fist stopped in mid-air.

The three youths froze instantly, as if they had seen a ghost.

"A hundred...a hundred-year soul ring?" The blond-haired man's voice changed.

Six years old, a hundred-year-old soul ring, what the hell is this monster?!

"Want to continue?" Huo Linfei asked with a smile.

The three men exchanged a glance, turned and ran, not daring to utter a single harsh word.

Huo Linfei curled his lip and turned to look at the girl on the chair: "The bad guys have all run away, you can go home now."

The girl didn't speak, she just looked at him quietly. Her purple eyes were like the starry sky, so deep that they were unfathomable.

"What's your name?" Huo Linfei crouched down, trying to keep his tone gentle.

"Where do you live? I'll take you home."

The girl remained silent.

Tang Wulin ran over at this moment. Looking at the girl, the inexplicable flutter in his heart became even stronger.

He asked softly, "Are you...lost?"

The girl finally reacted. She looked at Tang Wulin, then at Huo Linfei, and finally nodded gently.

"Then..." Tang Wulin looked at Huo Linfei, "Boss Huo, what should we do?"

"Are you an orphan too? No home... How about we become sworn brothers? I'll protect you!"

"You'll be the third sister!"

Huo Linfei suddenly said.

She looked at Huo Linfei, then at Tang Wulin, and for the first time, a clear emotional fluctuation appeared in her purple eyes—confusion, extreme confusion.

She is an incarnation of the Silver Dragon King, representing the purest emotions and humanity. She was sent to approach Tang Wulin, the vessel of the Golden Dragon King's bloodline, to observe, understand, and even…

But what's up with this red-haired boy?

"Brother and sister..." Na'er repeated the word softly, as if savoring its meaning.

"It's settled then!" Huo Linfei slammed his hand on the table, revealing his signature confident smile.

"Come on, Wu Lin, Na'er, let's go somewhere!"

Half an hour later, in the small peach grove in the eastern district of Aolai City.

This peach grove was planted many years ago by an old gardener, and it was breathtakingly beautiful when it bloomed in spring. Although it's not currently in bloom, the peach trees are still lush and their branches cast dappled shadows in the morning light.

Huo Linfei took out three things from his pocket: a stick of incense he had stolen from home, three cheap ceramic bowls he bought from a roadside stall, and a small pot of liquor that Tang Ziran had been storing for many years.

"Boss Huo, what are you doing?" Tang Wulin asked curiously.

"Let's become sworn brothers!" Huo Linfei placed the bowl on a flat stone.

"Have you heard of the Oath of the Peach Garden? Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei! Today, we're Fire Donna!"

Na'er stood to the side, her expression even more bewildered.

Huo Linfei lit incense and stuck it in the soil. Then he poured wine into three bowls, but he filled them too full and some wine spilled out, so he quickly wiped it up with his hand.

"Here, one bowl each." He handed the bowls to Tang Wulin and Na'er.

Tang Wulin took the bowl, his face flushed with excitement. Na'er looked at the clear liquid in the bowl, hesitated for a moment, and then took it as well.

"Kneel down, all of you." Huo Linfei was the first to kneel down, facing the peach grove.

Tang Wulin knelt down as well, and Na'er looked at the two of them before slowly kneeling down as well.

Huo Linfei took a deep breath and declared loudly, "Heaven above, earth below, bear witness! Today I, Huo Linfei,

"I, Tang Wulin,"

The two looked at Na'er.

Na'er opened her mouth, her voice barely audible: "I... Na'er..."

"Not loud enough!" Huo Linfei said. "Again! My Na'er!"

Na'er pursed her lips and raised her voice slightly: "I, Na'er..."

"Let us become sworn siblings before the peach grove!" Huo Linfei continued, "From this day forward, we will share both good times and bad!"

Tang Wulin echoed, "We share the good times and the bad!"

Looking into their eager eyes, Na'er felt a touch deep within her. She whispered, "Sharing happiness...sharing hardship..."

"I don't ask to be born on the same day, month, or year," Huo Linfei said, raising his bowl.

"I only wish to die on the same day, in the same month, in the same year!" Tang Wulin's hands trembled with excitement.

Na'er's pupils contracted slightly upon hearing these words. Die on the same day, in the same month, in the same year?

Humans live for no more than a hundred years, but she... she is an avatar of the Silver Dragon King, and her lifespan is almost eternal.

But looking into Huo Linfei's bright green, sincere eyes, and into Tang Wulin's trusting blue eyes, she finally raised the bowl.

"I only wish to die on the same day, in the same month, in the same year."

"Cheers!" Huo Linfei tilted his head back and downed the drink in one gulp, then grimaced from the spiciness. "Cough, cough... Why is this liquor so strong!"

Tang Wulin took a small bite, and his face scrunched up in disgust: "So spicy!"

Na'er held the bowl, hesitated for a moment, and then took a small sip. The spicy liquid slid down her throat, bringing a burning sensation she had never experienced before.

She frowned, but soon, the warmth spread throughout her body, and a cold spot in her heart seemed to melt a little.

"From today onwards, I am the eldest brother." Huo Linfei wiped his mouth and patted his chest.

"Wu Lin is the second brother, and Na'er is the third sister! From now on, anyone who bullies you will be going against me, Huo Linfei!"

Tang Wulin nodded vigorously: "I will protect my eldest brother and third sister!"

Looking at the two boys, at the unreserved sincerity in their eyes, Na'er felt for the first time... that maybe this wasn't so bad.

Although things took a completely different turn from what was planned.

Although she was supposed to just come to observe the Golden Dragon King's container.

But now, it seems she really does have two older brothers.

"Big brother... second brother..." Na'er called softly.

"Hey!" Huo Linfei and Tang Wulin responded in unison, then looked at each other and burst into laughter.

Laughter echoed through the peach grove, startling a few early birds.
