One Piece: Starting with Breathing Techniques
Chapter 29 Wrath
Marine Headquarters, Marineford.
Several towering mountain peaks surround a magnificent naval fortress, with a giant, crescent-shaped harbor in front.
A green-haired man in a white navy uniform, carrying a stack of documents, walked briskly down the corridor.
He stopped in front of an office and knocked on the door.
"Come in," came the slightly tired voice of a middle-aged man.
Behind the desk, a man wearing a navy cloak was dealing with the documents on the table with a worried expression.
"An admiral only needs to fight and kill, while a naval admiral has to consider many other things."
"I imagine Sengoku's expression would be quite interesting when he took over as Fleet Admiral and saw so many documents to process."
Looking at the mountain of trivial documents on the table, Kong rubbed his eyebrows and looked up at the person who had come in.
Upon recognizing the person, he was somewhat surprised. "Brandeu, is there something you need?"
Brannew, a senior naval officer, is usually busy managing various naval affairs.
The job generally involves constantly holding meetings and discussing matters with officers.
For example, discussing the bounty of a new pirate, or discussing a branch that has been attacked by pirates, and so on.
However, Brannew does not usually dock directly with the air force unless there is something particularly important.
Could it be another urgent message?
A vague sense of unease crept into my heart.
Brannew wiped the sweat from his brow and strode in.
"Marshal Kong, this is intelligence sent back by the 72nd Branch of the Western Sea."
"A swordsman I'd never heard of before attacked the 72nd Branch, and all the high-ranking officers within were killed!"
Upon hearing this, Kong shook his head helplessly.
"I'm afraid he's just another newcomer who's been bewitched by Roger and wants to find ONE PIECE."
He then changed the subject, his tone somewhat doubtful, "But this kind of thing has happened before, hasn't it?"
"Why did you specifically seek me out today?"
Brannew shook his head, handed the documents to Sengoku, his eyes filled with seriousness, "No, this time is different."
"This swordsman named Kiro not only took care of the brigadier general in the branch, but also... "
Brannew didn't continue, but his meaning was clear.
"During the meeting just now, the generals were all arguing wildly, saying that this arrogant criminal must be severely punished."
"What!?" Kong was no longer calm as before, his face full of surprise and anger, and he slammed his fist on the table.
Onigumo is a disciple of Zephyr and a branch lieutenant general whom he highly regards.
With Onigumo's strength, he is almost certain to become a Vice Admiral in the Marine Headquarters in the future. His strength is among the best in the entire Navy.
While not as formidable as the three monsters led by Sakazuki, they are undoubtedly the backbone of the Navy.
but……
Now, a vice admiral like him has actually died in a small West Blue branch?!
Kong was furious and quickly flipped through the documents that Brannew had handed him.
One of the photos shows Kiro standing upright with a knife in his hand, while Onigumo lies on the ground behind him, his fate unknown.
After reading the document, Sora sighed deeply. "Give Lieutenant General Onigumo a proper burial and provide his family with a generous pension in accordance with regulations."
"Such a powerful swordsman shouldn't be unknown, right?" A hint of doubt flashed in Kong's eyes.
Suddenly, as if realizing something, Sora narrowed his eyes. "Wait, why would Onigumo suddenly go to the West Blue? I remember his jurisdiction isn't there, is it?"
Brannew looked troubled. "It seems to be an order from the Celestial Dragons."
"Furthermore, the investigation revealed that this Kilo appears to be a descendant of the Ohara people and was previously an archaeologist."
Sora's brow furrowed even deeper as he rubbed his aching temples. "Kilo...?"
"No matter what, daring to openly murder a vice admiral is a provocation against the Navy and the World Government."
"Moreover, it's astonishing that such a dangerous criminal capable of killing a lieutenant general could emerge from such a small place as the West Sea."
"I will inform Garp and Sengoku to keep an eye on this dangerous individual."
"As for the bounty..."
After a moment of contemplation, he wrote down a line of numbers on the paper.
Brannew took the white paper, and after reading its contents, his eyes widened in shock.
……
"One hundred and thirty million?!"
Garp stopped chewing on his senbei and looked at the wanted poster handed to him by his adjutant, his face full of surprise.
The wanted poster showed Kilo's appearance.
"Are you sure this is a newcomer who's been wanted for the first time and hasn't even set foot on the Grand Line yet?"
The adjutant nodded and reminded him, "Marshal Kong asked me to remind you that if you encounter this person again, you must take him down."
"This criminal was previously a scholar from Ohara."
"To openly kill Vice Admiral Onigumo under such circumstances is already an arrogant provocation against the Navy."
Garp continued eating his senbei, mumbling, "It seems that Roger's words at his execution really have led to more and more pirates appearing."
"Archaeologists..."
Garp turned to look at his disciple who was lying in the sun, and flicked the wanted poster in his hand.
"Hey, Aokiji, you participated in the Buster Call of Ohara, didn't you?"
Have you seen this person before?
Aokiji removed his blindfold, carefully examined Kiro's bounty poster, and calmly shook his head.
"No, I've never seen it before."
"I knew it." Garp shook his head, pulling down the brim of his dog-head hat. "What a hassle."
……
At the summit of the Red Line, in the sacred land of Mary Geoise.
Inside an extremely luxurious, resplendent room.
"Bang!"
An ugly, obese man with a fat face, thick lips, and a snotty nose slammed his fist against the wall.
He wore the exclusive attire of the Celestial Dragons and a resin bubble hood to isolate himself from the air breathed by ordinary people, symbolizing his self-proclaimed "holy" status.
"Onigumo... what a piece of trash!"
"Can't even take down a lowly commoner!?"
Charlos Saint, his face contorted in rage, picked up a whip and lashed it viciously at a burly man wearing a slave collar in front of him, venting his fury.
The whip lashed the burly man's back until it bled profusely, but he gritted his teeth and dared not make a sound, for fear of provoking the person in front of him.
After he had vented his anger enough, Charles Saint, panting, put down the whip and lay down on the soft, comfortable, and luxurious bed.
With a glance, two stunningly beautiful female slaves immediately stepped forward to provide attentive service.
A moment later, Charles Saint squinted, sat up, and picked up the wanted poster for Kiro.
"Damn it, so many slaves, and this ungrateful bastard let them escape!"
"This is a challenge to the authority of the Celestial Dragons!"
Charles Saint clenched his fist and slammed it hard on the pure gold table, but the force of the impact made his palm ache.
He grew angrier the more he thought about it, so he picked up a Den Den Mushi (a type of electric telephone) and dialed the number.
"Hello, is this Spandam?"
"If I remember correctly, your CP9 department is known for assassinations?"
"I command you to tear that lowly wretch named Kiro to pieces!"
The next second, Charles Saint hung up the Den Den Mushi, a satisfied look on his face.
He rose, donned the magnificent robes symbolizing his Celestial Dragon status, and casually ordered his assistant, "I'm going out!"
"Let's go and see what kind of slaves are in the Sabaody Archipelago today."
"If I could encounter a rare merman..."
A lewd and obese smile appeared on his dull and fat face, clearly indicating that he had already forgotten about Kiro.
For the lecherous Saint Charles, Qigo's Thorn Merchant Guild was merely a source of slaves for him.
There were many more slaves waiting for his favor.
On the other side, Spandam looked at the gorgeous Den Den Mushi that had been disconnected in his hand, holding a wanted poster and a stack of documents related to Kiro.
"Kilo, the scholar of Ohara..."
"A fish that slipped through the net?"
"This time, I won't let you get away again!!"
