Chapter 10 The Little Prince

These nicknames deepened Prince Xu's prejudice against the group.

He understood why Zuo Ziliang had asked him to change his pen name. His real name, among these nicknames, was like a zebra in a herd of camels—too conspicuous.

After thinking for a long time, he decided to use his own name and combine it with his favorite fairy tale to give himself a brand new nickname.

The Little Prince.

Zuo Ziliang said, "Is it finished yet? What's your new nickname? I'll edit a notification."

Wang Zixu told him honestly. After he finished speaking, Zuo Ziliang stared at him for a moment, then burst into laughter, making Wang Zixu very embarrassed.

"Your name is The Little Prince? You call yourself The Little Prince? Old Wang, you're 30 already, aren't you? You're so childlike!"

Wang Zixu was slightly annoyed: "Saint-Exupéry wrote 'The Little Prince' when he was 42. I'm a full twelve years younger than him. What's wrong with having a childlike heart?"

Zuo Ziliang said, "That's not what I meant. I mean, you're 30 now, and most of the speech therapists in our group are in their early 20s. I can understand that you want to try to come up with a nickname that fits the spiritual world of young people, but the name 'Little Prince' sounds pretentious, and people will think it's weird."

Prince Xu felt inexplicably hurt.

"Is this strange?"

"To be honest, it's a bit strange."

Wang Zixu said, "You misunderstood me. I didn't intend to cater to the psyche of young people; I simply like the name..."

Zuo Ziliang said, "That's strange too."

"All right."

Wang Zixu lowered his head and operated the device for a moment, then said to Zuo Ziliang:

"And now?"

Zuo Ziliang glanced down and saw the new nickname he had given himself—

"The Little Prince uprooted the baobab tree."

"..."

"Is it still strange now?"

"...Strange, but not in that kind of strange. Anyway, this name is okay."

"Then I'll call myself that," Prince Xu smiled.

Zuo Ziliang looked at him with a complicated expression: "I thought you had no sense of humor."

"Huh?" Wang Zixu didn't understand why he had this misconception. "It's not that I don't have a sense of humor, it's just that I'm always very serious, and I don't have any money."

……

After Wang Zixu returned home, Zuo Ziliang immediately tagged everyone.

[@Everyone, tonight I've invited our script instructor, @小王子倒拔猴麵包树, to give a lecture. It will start promptly at 8 PM. After the lecture, I will put everyone on silent mode. There will be 15 minutes for questions afterward. Please note that this course is an exclusive benefit for our core speech therapists; you've paid for it, so please do not share the chat history. The script instructor is very busy, so please do not contact him privately. Just attend the lecture on time after receiving this message; no need to reply "received."]

After sending this message to everyone, the group chat erupted in an uproar, and then the entire screen was flooded with "received" messages.

At that moment, the operations team had just finished working overtime. Huang Da was having a late-night snack with several colleagues at a barbecue restaurant downstairs from the company when he saw the message in the group chat. He spat out the lamb skewers he had just chewed and stared at his phone in shock.

Seeing his expression, his colleague quickly put down his lamb skewers and asked, "What's wrong? Is the meat not fresh?"

Huang Da said, "Holy crap, the boss pulled the scriptwriter into the group chat and made him give lectures to the speech therapists!"

My colleague breathed a sigh of relief and said, "I thought it was something serious... Holy crap? He brought the scriptwriter in?"

Huang Da handed over the phone and pointed, saying, "Look!"

Several heads instantly surrounded them.

Huang Da clutched his head. He had only mentioned the script team yesterday, and today the boss had already brought the main person in charge over. He even suspected that the boss had seen through his little scheme.

"The nickname 'The Little Prince Uproots the Bread Tree' sounds so strange," a colleague remarked, examining his phone.

Another colleague next to him glared at him: "What's so strange about that?"

"Don't you think it's strange?"

"What makes you think it's strange?"

How could the Little Prince uproot the baobab tree?

"Can't they pull the tree out when it's still small?"

Another colleague joined the discussion, saying, "Isn't this a classic double burden? This is a well-designed joke!"

Someone immediately agreed: "Yes, I noticed that too, it has a bit of a dark humor feel to it."

Another person said, "What's so funny? I don't see any humor in it at all. I just find it a bit childish."

The colleague said, "What's childish about it? Haven't you read 'The Little Prince'?"

"You've read it? But does reading 'The Little Prince' have anything to do with this?"

"Then you must not have read 'Water Margin'."

The atmosphere was very lively with everyone discussing literature when Huang Da interrupted them, saying:

"Enough, is that the point? The point is the scriptwriter! The boss added him to the group chat!"

Once the colleagues calmed down, someone said, "Yeah, we were just discussing it yesterday, saying that this scriptwriter is our core competitive advantage, and today the boss just revealed it. Aren't they afraid of being poached?"

"At least on the bright side, we now know whether this scriptwriter was part of a team or a lone wolf. He was a person."

"Not necessarily. The boss only said 'recruit a scriptwriter to join the group for lectures,' not 'this scriptwriter is our only scriptwriter,' right?"

"In short, things are still very mysterious about this scriptwriter. Fortunately, we'll be able to get to know him soon."

Huang Da rubbed his cheeks for a while. His face would get hot whenever he thought quickly, and he would rub his face to cool it down. His cat had inherited this habit. After a period of lightning-fast thinking, he had a flash of inspiration.

"I understand, I understand the boss's intention."

His colleagues gathered around and asked, "What do you understand now?"

Huang Da said, "It's not certain yet, but I should be able to verify my ideas when I start lecturing later."

He tapped his fingers on the table, his emotions a mixture of excitement and nervousness. His gaze was fixed on the tiny characters on his phone screen: "The Little Prince uproots the bread tree," as if trying to see through the other person through that single line of text.

……

Meanwhile, the small group chat for the Wen Ai speech therapists, which had been calm, suddenly became a hot topic after the message came down in the large group chat, as if a stone had been thrown into a lake, causing a stir among the group members.

Sunny and cheerful Sakura: [We were just talking about the script teacher yesterday, and I can actually have class today! So happy!]

The Innocent Poet: [Yesterday I thought you'd never meet a scriptwriter in your entire life.]

Sunny and cheerful Sakura: [(Angry.jpg) I'm not qualified, are I?]

Innocent Poet: [No, I initially thought you could go solo after taking the scriptwriter with you, but now it seems the boss doesn't think you have that ability.]

Sunny and cheerful Sakura: [So you're saying you overestimated me before, right? Anyway, why are you targeting me? Anyone could run off with the scriptwriter, right??]

Bird Thief Who Loves Diving: [What? You actually plan to run away with the scriptwriter? How dare you!]

Sunny and cheerful Sakura-chan: [Nobody wants to run away with the scriptwriter! I just want to ask, how can I develop a writing style as timeless as the scriptwriter's?]

Bird thief who loves diving: [So you've learned it and are going to take my place, huh?]

Sunny and cheerful Sakura: 【…How could that be?】

zed: [Even if Fei Ying wanted to replace him, she couldn't; her writing style is beyond compare.]

The Innocent Poet: [Although Sakura-chan's writing isn't as strong as others, she has her own advantages. In a fight, the opponent definitely wouldn't stand a chance.]

Cheerful and sunny Sakura: [You're all bullying me, I'm not talking to you anymore. Humph.]

zed: [Fei Ying is gone. Now, can anyone explain what the Little Prince meant by uprooting the bread tree?]

No one replied for a long time. Then, much later, a new message appeared.

The bird thief who loves diving: [I think it's probably referring to the Little Prince uprooting the bread tree.]
