Crossing through time 04, I blew up the American aircraft carrier.

In the Middle East, olive oil is the main vegetable oil for cooking, and every household has it. If you collect it from house to house, you can still gather dozens of tons!

The key question is... can this T-72 tank run on olive oil?

Just as Zabil was about to shake his head, Ahmed waved his hand and said, "Okay, no problem!"

Is this... really going to work?

Zabil was speechless, but he realized that under the current circumstances, he had no choice but to try!

There isn't enough other fuel in the city, and only olive oil is plentiful. If we want to go out of the city to fight, we have to get the tanks moving. Otherwise... relying solely on infantry, we really can't deal with the Houthi rebels!

"Yes, then we'll go collect it immediately."

Soon, knocks were heard on every door. Several soldiers entered and, without saying a word, went straight to the kitchen, grabbed the bottles of olive oil, and the residents dared not complain.

"To defeat the Houthis, we need to requisition olive oil!"

"Hey, hey, my lamb chops..."

"What lamb chops? Which eye of yours saw that?"

The residents could only shut up, cursing these damned robbers in their hearts. It seemed that it was better for the Houthis to rule, at least there wouldn't be so many levies!

Malan Town, the base camp.

"Robbing people from house to house?" Hassan asked curiously. "They shouldn't be that hungry!"

"Yes, the city still has enough food to last a month," Haivani said. "They shouldn't be at the point of robbing the citizens of their food..."

If they had only collected olive oil, everyone would have quickly guessed their true purpose. However, these soldiers also stole a lot of other food items, thus inadvertently creating confusion.

Hassan stood up and paced back and forth a few steps.

If the Republican Guard hadn't been trapped inside the city, they might have posed a significant threat to the Houthis. Now... we need to figure out exactly what the Republican Guard is up to.

"Report, the statistics are in. They collected olive oil the most!" Just then, new intelligence arrived.

olive oil?

Hassan recalled watching short videos in his past life. A funny Indian once poured a bucket of vegetable oil into a motorcycle's fuel tank and tried to use it to start the engine. Apart from producing a lot of smoke from the exhaust pipe, there didn't seem to be any major changes.

This is, of course, because the Indian motorcycles are too outdated. If they were equipped with our electronic fuel injection engines, the fuel pump would have been clogged long ago, and the catalytic converter in the exhaust pipe would have completely failed...

As for the T-72 tank... it uses a multi-fuel engine, adhering to the old Russians' rough-and-ready... cough cough, sturdy and durable characteristics, so it can still run on vegetable oil!

However, breaking this deadlock is also quite simple.

"Haywani, immediately notify our people in the city to add a handful of sugar to the olive oil that hasn't been confiscated yet!"

Huh? Add sugar?

What kind of operation is this?

However… since Hassan has arranged it this way, let's do it his way and not think about why! Every move Hassan makes is ultimately proven to be the most correct!

As night fell, a row of T-72 tanks stood in the central square of Saada.

"Add one tank first, let's give it a try!" Rabil ordered.

"Yes, sir! Keep it up!" Tank Battalion Commander Gurban waved his hand.

The olive oil was poured into the tank's fuel tank.

Fill the main fuel tank! Fill the auxiliary fuel tank!

"Start the engine!"

Puff puff!

The sound of compressed air filled the air as the pneumatic motor began to spin at high speed, driving the tank engine to operate.

Buzz, buzz!

Puffs of black smoke billowed continuously from the rear of the tank, as if demons from hell were about to emerge.

Ahead, the driver habitually pressed the accelerator a few times, and then... the familiar roar of the engine could be heard.

Startup successful on the first try!

Adding olive oil to the engine is perfectly fine!

"Report: The engine is running normally, except for a lot of black smoke, there are no other problems!"

"Alright, add olive oil to the other tanks as well! Start the test, and if there are no problems, we'll wait to set off tomorrow!" Zabil was finally relieved!

They slept soundly that night, and the next morning, the tank unit was ready to depart.

"Today, we will utterly crush the Houthis!" Gurban shouted. "Attention! Start the tanks, prepare to move out!"

Puff puff……

The compressed air motor started up again, but... the engine seemed to be held back by something, turning weakly and listlessly, and after a few turns... it stopped completely!

"Report: Engine malfunction!"

What?

Gurban's face darkened: "How could the engine malfunction? Switch to electric start!"

Nine times out of ten, the compressed air cylinder leaked because it wasn't pumped up yesterday, so it can't start. Just switch to an electric starter!

Buzz, buzz!

This time, the electric motor was even more sluggish!

Once, twice, three times... the battery warning light came on.

"Report: Electric starter failed; there must be a problem with the engine!"

"Damn it, where are the other tanks?"

Black smoke billowed across the square, and the sounds of engines starting up echoed incessantly. Half an hour later, all was silent.

Ahmed Saleh watched all this with a grim expression, a sense of panic creeping into his heart.

The tank engines are all broken due to substandard fuel! The tanks can't be deployed, so will his infantry dare to go out?

Outside is Houthi territory, and our troops are going to be completely trapped in Saada!

What to do, what to do?

Malan Town.

"Lord Hassan, their tanks are all destroyed!" Haivani excitedly ran into the cave. "It's strange, they could start last night, but today the engines won't start. How... how did they manage that?"

Hassan smiled. This was nothing more than the petty tricks of those unscrupulous repairmen in the East!

If you want to rip off your customers, just put a handful of sugar in the fuel tank. You won't be able to drive very far before the engine completely breaks down!

When fuel mixed with sugar enters the engine, it turns into a viscous substance at high temperatures, clogging every corner of the engine! And once the engine cools down, this viscous substance gradually hardens, making the engine completely unable to start!

Adding olive oil alone might keep the tank engine running, but adding something else completely renders it unusable!

"Can these tanks... still be repaired?" Hamid asked after listening to Hassan's explanation.

This is a T-72, it would be such a waste to scrap it!

"Once it's in our hands, we can completely disassemble and clean the engine."

Anyway, the Russian tank engines need a major overhaul every 500 hours. We can overhaul them in advance, disassemble them, clean them thoroughly, and they'll still work!

Only the Russians could do this with their engines. If it were a sophisticated Western engine, it might really be scrapped!

Everyone's eyes lit up, and their gazes toward Hassan were full of admiration!

"Your Excellency Hassan, what do we do next?"

"Waiting to negotiate with the government is pointless; fighting and killing are pointless. I'm a peace-loving person..."
