An Yaoyao had no idea what her parents were wondering about, and turned to the side to begin her explanation:

"Dad, Mom."

"This is my boss, Bai Li."

An Yaoyao withdrew her hand and pointed to the six girls:

"They...are also the boss's employees."

She dared not say that these were all Bai Li's girlfriends, for fear of shattering her father's worldview.

But An's father and mother did not react to her introduction.

The elderly couple were staring blankly at the villa's gate.

An Yaoyao stretched out her hand and waved it in front of the two of them:

"Dad? Mom?"

Are you listening to me?

Father An switched the snakeskin bag to his left hand, and Mother An finally came to her senses.

Mother An looked at her daughter, then at the house, and stammered, "..."

"Yaoyao, this is... the house you rented?"

An Yaoyao fiddled with the hem of her skirt, hesitated for two seconds, and then decided to confess:

"Dad, Mom. Actually..."

"I didn't rent a place at all. I'm just staying in a room at my landlord's place."

After saying that, she immediately stepped forward and explained very quickly:

"But don't worry. I'm just a cleaner, there's nothing between me and the boss..."

She hadn't finished speaking.

Mother An's gaze passed over An Yaoyao and landed on Bai Li's handsome face.

"Bai Li?!" she exclaimed in surprise.

Father An's eyes widened in surprise.

Bai Li stood there, his face full of confusion:

"Uncle and Aunt, do you know me?"

Father An slapped his thighs with both hands, his voice rising:

"We're your fans!"

An Yaoyao was completely dumbfounded.

My honest, hardworking parents, who work in the factory every day, are actually fans of Bai Li?

This is too surreal... An Yaoyao couldn't help but exclaim:

"Dad, Mom, what kind of random short dramas do you usually watch???"

But the old father was too busy to pay attention to her; he looked at the four spirited young women:

"You must be Chen Ting, Li Xin, Lin Shuang, and Zhang Qian!"

Father An then uttered the names of the four spirited young women from the short drama in such a lively and charming manner.

"Holy crap!" The four girls exchanged glances, their faces filled with shock.

This is the first time they've met fans in real life since the short drama became a hit!

This made them extremely happy, and the faces of An's parents became more familiar to them.

Lin Xiaoshuang was the first to react, responding crisply:

"Yes, it's us!"

She jogged over and grabbed An's mother's wrist:

"Uncle and Auntie, come in quickly!"

Zhang Qian strode towards the entrance, then bent down and picked up a snakeskin bag from the ground:

"Uncle, let me help you with that."

Chen Tingting grabbed An's mother's other arm:

"Auntie, please change into these slippers; you've never worn these before."

Several girls were overly enthusiastic, crowding around the elderly couple as they walked into the living room.

An Yaoyao was pushed aside and stood against the shoe cabinet.

An's father and mother were pressed down in the middle of the sofa.

An Yaoyao closed the door and walked to the sofa, just as she was about to sit down next to her parents.

Lin Xiaoshuang came running over and plopped down next to An's mother.

Bai Li sat down next to An's father, filling the sofa to the brim.

"These are my parents..." An Yaoyao said, sounding aggrieved.

Nobody paid any attention to her.

Li Jiaxin picked up the fruit platter and pushed it in front of the two elders:

"Uncle and Auntie, please eat. These grapes were just washed."

An's mother was flattered and overwhelmed.

She glanced at Li Jiaxin's purple hair, then at the fruit platter, reached for a grape, and peeled it:

"I'm so happy to have been fed by my idols."

Chen Tingting stood behind the sofa.

She was usually fierce, but now she blushed and became a little shy.

She turned her head to look at Bai Li, her voice softening, with a hint of coquetry:

"Big brother, say something too."

Upon hearing this coquettish voice, An's mother paused in her actions.

She carefully examined Chen Tingting's demure, wifely appearance, and then glanced at Bai Li standing to the side.

Then she quickly turned her head and slapped her father's thigh twice.

"Look, look!"

Mother An lowered her voice, her tone very firm:

"I knew they must be Director Bai's girlfriends in real life. They live together, and their eyes don't lie!"

An Yaoyao stood to the side, having heard everything clearly, and was about to speak.

Father An waved his hand, interrupting An Yaoyao:

"Really."

Father An looked up at An Yaoyao, his tone full of dissatisfaction:

"You little brat, you're still lying to us."

"Your mom and I watch short dramas every day. What haven't we seen?"

An's father stopped looking at his daughter and turned his gaze back to Bai Li.

He rubbed his hands together and asked the question he had while watching the show.

"Director Bai."

"I saw in the season 2 trailer that you'd probably have eight girlfriends. But in the first season, only six have appeared so far."

"Who are the remaining two? And what type are they?"

An's father was referring to the four spirited young women, including Zhang Qian, plus Li Mengmeng and Jiang Ruyue, who made cameo appearances, making a total of six.

Bai Li looked at An's father, deliberately keeping him in suspense:

"No spoilers yet."

An Yaoyao opened her mouth.

She stood by the coffee table and realized she couldn't fit into the group at all.

Her parents were so engrossed in following their idols that they didn't care about her at all.

In particular, An's father went into a fanatical idol-chasing mode.

"I still remember the famous lines from your show."

An's father wiped his hands on his trouser leg twice and stood up.

He walked to the open space in the center of the living room.

An's father stared into Bai Li's eyes, put his hands on his hips, and began reciting lines from the short play:

"Are you my daughter's boyfriend?"

Father An adopted the air of a patriarch, his voice booming:

"Leave my daughter alone, and I'll give you thirty million!"

After finishing speaking, An's father looked at Bai Li expectantly.

Bai Li responded calmly.

He leaned back, casually resting his hands on the armrests, instantly getting into character:

"Okay, I've already told Yaoyao we've broken up, and I've blocked her contact information."

"How do you plan to give me these thirty million?"

When An's father saw that Bai Li was willing to play with him, his smile widened.

He took a step back, his heel hitting the snakeskin bag:

"What a piece of junk, it's such a nuisance..."

He lifted his foot and kicked the snakeskin bag away.

With this kick, the bag fell apart, revealing the clothes he had painstakingly folded for his daughter, as well as clean sheets and blankets.

Father An didn't even glance at the pile of clothes.

He put his hands behind his back, tilted his chin up, and loudly recited the second half of his lines:

First and foremost, be honest.

Second, you must always keep your promises.

Third, never believe what adults say.

After saying this, Father An burst into laughter.

Bai Li sat on the single sofa, her arms crossed again:

"Then, Uncle, I'll give you ten million too."

An's father stopped laughing; this scene wasn't in the short film.

He looked at Bai Li with a puzzled expression:

"real?"

Bai Li looked at him and finished her sentence:

"Please take good care of my child and Yaoyao's child."
