Zhou Haibo stood frozen in place, his phone still held to his ear. The busy tone had long since faded, and the screen had gone dark, reflecting his pale face.

His lips trembled as he stuffed his phone into his pocket, then bowed deeply to Luo Fei at a ninety-degree angle.

"sorry."

His voice sounded like it was being squeezed out of his throat, hoarse and tinged with tears.

Then, he raised his hand and slapped himself hard across the face.

Another red mark appeared on his already swollen cheek, and the intense pain made him tremble, but he did not stop.

One slap after another, the crisp sound of the slaps echoed in the quiet shop. Each time, he used all his strength, as if he were whipping an irreconcilable enemy.

"I'm sorry..." he choked out, slapping himself between sobs, tears mingling with blood from his mouth, dripping from his chin onto the floor. "I shouldn't have sworn, I shouldn't have been so foul-mouthed, I'm not human, I'm a bastard, I deserve to die..."

His girlfriend stood to the side, completely stunned. Looking at Zhou Haibo's face, which was swollen and red beyond recognition, and seeing him with tears streaming down his face, her lips trembled, and she bent down even lower than Zhou Haibo.

"I'm sorry..." Her voice was high-pitched and trembling violently, "I shouldn't have said those things, I had a sharp tongue, please forgive us..."

Li Xiulan stood behind Luo Fei, watching the two men bend over and slap themselves. Her face still had wet tear stains, but the tears had stopped flowing.

Her eyes were complex, containing anger, grievance, but more than anything, an indescribable emotion.

She looked at Zhou Haibo's face, swollen like a pig's head, and at the woman's trembling back as she bent over, and her lips moved.

She grasped Luo Fei's sleeve and tugged at it gently.

Luo Fei turned his head and saw his mother's red eyes and the tear stains on her face, but her expression was no longer as fearful and aggrieved as before; instead, it showed a hint of... reluctance.

"Xiaofei," Li Xiulan said softly, "let it go."

Luo Fei looked at his mother without saying a word.

Li Xiulan glanced at Zhou Haibo again; the young man was still slapping himself, each slap harder than the last. "He knows he's wrong," her voice was a little hoarse, "Stop hitting him, or he'll get hurt."

Luo Fei withdrew his gaze and looked at Zhou Haibo, still silently watching him.

Zhou Haibo continued slapping, his hands trembling violently, but he dared not stop. His eyes were red and swollen, his face smeared with tears and blood.

"Alright."

Luo Fei's voice wasn't loud, but Zhou Haibo's hand seemed to be nailed to the spot, instantly freezing in mid-air. He remained bent over, not daring to look up or move.

Luo Fei didn't look at him anymore, turned around and looked at the store manager standing to the side.

The store manager's eyes clearly showed a hint of relief—relief that he hadn't taken sides or said anything he shouldn't have.

"Manager," Luo Fei said calmly, "you need to calculate how much damage was done to the shelves and merchandise, and I'll compensate for it."

The store manager hesitated for a moment, then quickly waved his hand, "No need, no need, we can handle this ourselves..."

"Calculate it," Luo Fei repeated, his tone leaving no room for argument.

The store manager opened his mouth, about to speak, when Zhou Haibo suddenly straightened up, his voice urgent and panicked: "I'll compensate! I'll compensate for all the losses!" He turned to the store manager, his face swollen, his expression desperate as if he were fighting for something life-saving, "All the losses, it's on me, double! No, triple!"

He pulled out his phone, opened the payment code, his hands still trembling, almost dropping the phone. "How much? How much? I'll pay right now!"

The store manager glanced at him, then at Luo Fei, hesitated for a moment, and then gave a few instructions to the young female clerk behind the counter.

The little girl lowered her head, operated the computer for a few moments, and then called out a number.

Zhou Haibo didn't even look at it before scanning the code to pay, and he overpaid several times over. Then he turned to Luo Fei again, still bent over, not daring to straighten up.

Luo Fei ignored him, walked to the shelf, picked up the few bottles of sunscreen he had just looked at, and handed them to the clerk: "Wrap these up."

The young female shop assistant took it and quickly bagged it. Zhou Haibo rushed forward, pulled out his phone, and exclaimed, "I'll pay! I'll pay!"

The young female shop assistant stood there, stunned, unsure what to do, and looked at the shop manager. The shop manager then looked at Luo Fei.

Luo Fei didn't say anything, picked up the packaged sunscreen, and turned to walk towards his parents.

Just then, the male police officer's walkie-talkie suddenly crackled to life. A sharp crack came through, followed by a voice: "Team Three, have you finished handling the situation at the mall?"

The male police officer picked up the walkie-talkie, glanced at Luo Fei, and pressed the button to reply, "Processing."

The voice on the walkie-talkie crackled again: "Retreat. Branch order: handle the situation on-site. No need to bring anyone back."

The male police officer's finger paused on the walkie-talkie. He exchanged a glance with the female officer, who shook her head slightly, signaling him not to ask any more questions. The male officer released the walkie-talkie and looked at Zhou Haibo.

"Zhou Haibo, right? Do you still want a medical examination? Do you want to pursue this matter?"

Zhou Haibo shook his head vigorously: "I won't pursue this! I'm willing to settle this privately! I was the one who started the insults, I was wrong, I deserve it!"

The male police officer nodded and then looked at Luo Fei.

Luo Fei stood there, his expression calm, without any extra reaction. The male police officer's gaze lingered on his face for two seconds before he looked away and said to the female police officer, "Let's go."

The two turned and walked out of the store.

As she reached the door, the policewoman glanced back, her gaze first falling on Luo Fei, then shifting to Li Xiulan, who was standing in the corner wiping away tears. Her lips moved slightly, but she ultimately said nothing, turning to follow the male police officer.

As the two stepped into the elevator and the doors closed, the male police officer finally couldn't help but ask in a low voice, "Who is that guy? The precinct gave us orders not to get involved in this."

The policewoman shook her head: "Don't ask. Knowing too much will only cause trouble."

The elevator doors closed, and the numbers started to drop.

The shop fell silent.

Zhou Haibo remained hunched over, not daring to move. The woman was also hunched over, her legs trembling, but she dared not straighten up.

Luo Fei carried the sunscreen and walked to his parents' side.

Li Xiulan's tears had dried, but her eyes were still red. Luo Weidong stood beside her, one arm around her shoulder. Although his expression wasn't as tense as before, he was still somewhat dazed.

Luo Fei glanced at Zhou Haibo and spoke.

"Watch your words next time."

Zhou Haibo's body jolted, and he bent even lower: "Yes, yes, yes! I remember! I'll definitely be careful! I'll never dare to do it again!"

Luo Fei didn't look at him again, but turned to his parents and said, "Mom, Dad, let's go."

He carried the items in one hand and held onto Li Xiulan's arm with the other, slowly walking out of the store.

The three of them stepped into the elevator. The moment the doors closed, Li Xiulan let out a long breath, as if expelling something from her body.

The elevator goes directly down to the underground parking garage.

Luo Fei could see a large pile of things next to the car from afar. The fishing tackle shop staff had already moved all the diving equipment and fishing gear over and neatly stacked them next to the car. A young man in work clothes was standing aside waiting.

Seeing Luo Fei approaching, the young man quickly stepped forward: "Sir, all your things are here. Please check them."

Luo Fei glanced at it and nodded: "Thank you for your trouble."

The young man quickly waved his hand, "It's no trouble at all, it's my pleasure."

He quickly started moving things onto the car, and Luo Fei also stepped forward to lend a hand.

Li Xiulan and Luo Weidong wanted to help, but Luo Fei stopped them: "Mom, Dad, just get in the car and sit down. Don't move anything, it's heavy."

The two could only stand by and watch.

Looking at the pile of stuff, Li Xiulan muttered again, "Why buy so much stuff? We can't even dive, what are we doing buying all this..."

As Luo Fei stuffed things into the trunk, he laughed and said, "If you don't know how, you can learn. The sea water is very clear; it would be great to put on a diving suit and go down to see the fish."

Li Xiulan shook her head, her face showing a hint of disapproval, but a smile had already appeared on her lips.

After the things were loaded and the young man left, Luo Fei opened the car door and helped his parents into the car.

The car drove out of the garage, and sunlight streamed in again. Luo Fei turned on the navigation and entered his destination—Luda International Yacht Marina.

The navigation system beeped, he stepped on the gas, the car merged into traffic, and headed towards the seaside.

The car drove for about twenty minutes, passing through several bustling streets and then along a coastal highway, where the scent of the sea grew stronger.

The view outside the window changed from skyscrapers to palm trees, from palm trees to beaches, and then from beaches to the blue sea.

Li Xiulan pressed her face against the car window, gazing at the sea outside, her eyes bright.

Luo Weidong was also watching, saying nothing, but his body unconsciously leaned closer to the window.

The car turned into a wide entrance, where a security booth was set up with railings across the entrance.

The security guard poked his head out, glanced at the license plate, then at the people inside the car, before raising the barrier and saluting.

The car drove in, and inside was a huge parking lot filled with all kinds of luxury cars.

Further in, there are rows of neat berths, with yachts of various colors and models standing side by side, their masts gleaming in the sunlight.

Luo Fei parked the car, got out, and opened the back door.

Li Xiulan got out of the car and stared blankly at the densely packed yachts in front of her.

"Are these all boats?"

Luo Fei stood beside her and smiled: "Yes, all of them."

Li Xiulan's mouth was slightly open, her eyes were wide open, and she couldn't say a word for a long time.

Luo Weidong stood next to her, also looking shocked.

Li Xiulan turned to Luo Fei and asked, "Xiao Fei, which boat did you rent?"

Luo Fei raised his hand and pointed to the white yacht at the outermost part of the dock.

That ship.

Li Xiulan looked in the direction he was pointing. The ship was more than twice the size of the ones next to it, with three decks and a streamlined hull. Under the sunlight, the ship's white hull shone brightly, like an elegant swan, floating quietly on the sea.

Her mouth opened even wider.

Luo Fei smiled, holding his mother's arm with one hand and patting his father's shoulder with the other.

"Let's go up and take a look."
