Chapter 192 Kyoto Conference, Sister
After hanging up the phone, Luo Fei walked back to his parents' side.
"Mom, Dad, I have to go out for a bit, it's urgent."
Li Xiulan looked up at him but didn't ask for details.
"Go ahead, go ahead and do your thing. We can explore on our own."
Luo Weidong also reminded him, "Be careful on the road."
Luo Fei nodded, turned and left.
He went to the restroom and entered the innermost stall.
I locked the door, and a thought popped into my head.
The next second, he was already standing on the top floor of the mall.
He took out the silver water purifier and weighed it in his hand. This thing had now become his personal means of transportation, faster than any airplane.
Just like before, he went up into the air and forcefully threw the water purifier out.
He waited on the top floor for a few minutes, estimating that the water purifier had arrived by now, and then with another thought—teleportation.
In a flash, he found himself in the sky above Kyoto.
Below me was an unfamiliar urban area, with low buildings but plenty of trees, which looked like a cluster of government offices.
He reached out and caught the water purifier, then put it into his ring.
Then I took out my phone and checked the address that Director Qin had sent me. It wasn't far from here, only about 30 kilometers away.
He flew lower, landed in an empty alley, and then walked out and hailed a taxi like an ordinary passerby.
Once in the car, he gave the driver his address. The driver glanced at him, asked no further questions, and drove off.
Before long, the car entered a quiet street.
The streets are lined with high walls covered with barbed wire, and there is a camera every few dozen meters.
The driver parked the car in front of a guard post, turned around and said, "We're here, we can't go in anymore."
Luo Fei paid the fare and got out of the car.
A young man in military uniform stepped out of the guard post, glanced at him, then at the tablet in his hand, and saluted: "Mr. Luo? Please come with me."
Luo Fei followed him inside, past two sentry posts, through a small courtyard, and into a gray building.
The hallway was very quiet, with only their footsteps echoing on the empty concrete floor.
The young man led him to a door on the second floor, knocked, then pushed it open and stepped aside, saying, "Please come in."
Luo Fei went inside. The room wasn't large; it was a conference room with five or six people sitting on either side of a long table.
Qin Zhenhua was sitting near the door. When he saw him come in, he stood up, smiled, and patted him on the shoulder: "You're here? You came quickly."
Luo Fei replied, "You said it was urgent, so I rushed over."
Qin Zhenhua smiled, asked no further questions, and led him inside. At the top of the long table sat an old man with completely white hair, but he was in good spirits and his back was ramrod straight.
The teacup in front of him was steaming, but he didn't drink it. He just looked at Luo Fei with a gentle and focused gaze. It was Elder Long.
"Xiao Luo, sit down."
Old Long pointed to the chair next to him, speaking casually.
Luo Fei sat down and glanced at the people present.
There were people from the military, people from the national security system, and one he knew—General Li Zhengxun from the General Staff Operations Department.
After Luo Fei was seated, Elder Long spoke, "I called you here today for two main reasons."
"First, there are people in Japan who are eyeing nuclear weapons. The top brass of the United States held a meeting, and someone proposed lifting the nuclear restrictions on Japan, letting them manufacture nuclear weapons, and then luring you there for a bombing."
Luo Fei's expression remained unchanged.
"The second thing," Elder Long continued, "your information should now be on the desks of high-ranking officials in various countries around the world. They have a grasp of your abilities, identity, address, and even your family."
He paused, then continued, "We're considering deploying a permanent force near your hometown, Liuxi Village. This isn't for surveillance, but to protect your parents' safety. The special operations brigade in the city is quite a distance from Liuxi Village, and if anything happens, they might not have enough time to react."
He looked at Luo Fei: "Of course, this is a discussion with you. You are the most qualified to speak on your parents' safety."
Luo Fei remained silent for a few seconds.
He knew that Elder Long was right. He wasn't afraid of anyone harming him, but not his parents.
He couldn't possibly stay by their side 24/7.
"I agree," he said. "Thank you, Mr. Long."
Old Master Long waved his hand, indicating that he didn't need to be so polite.
Then he looked at Luo Fei, his gaze more inquisitive: "Little Luo, can I ask you a question?"
"Please speak."
"A nuclear bomb, are you scared?"
The conference room fell silent, and everyone's eyes were fixed on Luo Fei.
Luo Fei thought for a moment and calmly replied, "I'm not afraid."
His tone was calm; he was simply stating a fact.
"My body can withstand a nuclear explosion. Neither the high temperature at the center, the radiation, nor the shockwave can affect me."
He paused, then added, "And, I can teleport."
The people present looked at each other.
Qin Zhenhua raised an eyebrow, while Li Zhengxun narrowed his eyes.
Elder Long's expression didn't change much, but he moved his hand off the table and placed it on his knee, seemingly processing the information.
"Teleportation?" Qin Zhenhua asked.
Luo Fei nodded: "It's about instantly moving from one place to another. No transportation is needed, and no time is required. You can arrive with just a thought."
He looked at the conference room. "For example, I can mark this conference room now. If you need to contact me in the future, just give me a call, and I'll teleport right over."
Lee Jung-hoon couldn't help but ask, "Can you demonstrate it now?"
Luo Fei stood up, walked to the corner of the conference room, and mentally marked the position under his feet.
Then he said, "I'm going to where I just came from, I'll be right back."
With a thought, he vanished from the conference room.
There was no light, no sound, and no sign whatsoever.
One second they were standing there, the next they were gone.
Qin Zhenhua stood up instinctively.
Lee Jung-hoon tapped his fingers lightly on the table.
Elder Long did not move, but his gaze lingered on the spot where Luo Fei had disappeared for two seconds.
Less than three seconds later, Luo Fei reappeared in the same spot where he had just been standing, without moving an inch.
I had something extra in my hand—the kind of brown paper towels you use to wipe your hands in the mall restroom, all crumpled up and clearly just pulled out of the box.
"I went to the restroom in that shopping mall."
Luo Fei placed the wad of tissues on the table. "This is toilet paper."
The meeting room was silent for a few seconds.
Qin Zhenhua looked at the wad of tissues with a complicated expression, as if he wanted to laugh but couldn't.
Li Zhengxun leaned back in his chair and let out a long breath, a breath that carried a sense of "I've lived most of my life and seen everything, but today I've truly broadened my horizons."
Old Long stared at the wad of tissue for several seconds, then smiled.
The smile wasn't big, but it was very sincere.
"it is good."
He uttered only one word, but that word contained a great deal of meaning.
Luo Fei sat back down in his chair: "So, you don't need to worry about the nuclear bombs. If they dare to launch them, I dare to intercept them. I'll intercept one if they launch one, and I'll intercept ten if they launch ten. As for the Japanese—"
He paused for a moment, then said, "If they really dare to build nuclear bombs, then don't blame me for being impolite."
His tone remained calm, but everyone in the conference room could sense the power beneath that calm.
Old Master Long picked up his teacup and took a sip.
The tea is no longer hot; the temperature is just right.
He put down his cup and looked at Luo Fei: "Xiao Luo, we can rest assured with your words."
He turned to those present and said, "Get things done with that unit as soon as possible. Don't disturb the people, don't make a fuss, do it discreetly."
Qin Zhenhua nodded: "Understood."
Old Long then looked at Luo Fei: "As for your parents, go back and tell them not to worry. Just say that the village is safer now, with more patrols, so they don't need to overthink it."
Luo Fei nodded in agreement.
Elder Long stood up and shook hands with Luo Fei.
His hands were dry and warm.
"Thank you, Luo."
Luo Fei said, "Elder Long, please don't be so polite."
Old Master Long smiled, turned around, and left.
Qin Zhenhua, Li Zhengxun, and a few others remained in the conference room.
Qin Zhenhua walked over and patted Luo Fei on the shoulder: "With your teleportation ability, you won't need to fly next time you come to Kyoto, saving our radar team from getting nervous again."
Luo Fei laughed: "Okay, next time I'll just teleport over."
Li Zhengxun also walked over, holding an unopened document in his hand. He gently tapped Luo Fei's chest with the document: "You kid, you've been hiding it well."
Luo Fei said, "General Li, I wasn't hiding it, you just didn't ask."
Li Zhengxun paused for a moment, then burst into laughter, the loud sound echoing several times in the conference room.
After the laughter stopped, he looked at Luo Fei, his eyes becoming very serious: "What are you planning to do about the Japanese?"
Luo Fei thought for a moment and said, "Let them make the first move."
"What if they don't take action?"
Luo Fei looked at him and said, "Whether they make a move or not, I'll keep an eye on them. If they dare to take that first step, I'll make sure they can't take it back."
Li Zhengxun nodded and didn't ask any more questions.
Qin Zhenhua saw Luo Fei out and asked him if he wanted to have lunch together, as the cafeteria had already prepared it.
Luo Fei checked his phone; it wasn't even eleven o'clock yet.
"No, I'm going to Kyoto University to see my sister."
Director Qin nodded, took out his phone and made a call, then said to Luo Fei, "The car is waiting at the door, I'll take you there directly."
Luo Fei initially wanted to say, "No need, I'll fly there myself," but then he thought that flying over Kyoto in broad daylight would be too conspicuous.
"Okay, thank you, Director Qin."
Director Qin waved his hand: "Why are you being so polite with me?"
As he reached the door, Luo Fei took out his phone and called Li Xiulan: "Mom, you and Dad should find a nice restaurant for lunch. I'll come back this afternoon to keep you company."
Li Xiulan said on the other end of the phone, "Okay, you go ahead with your work. We just bought a sofa and are looking at beds now. Your dad has his eye on a solid wood one."
Luo Fei overheard Luo Weidong saying, "A hard surface is good for your back," while Li Xiulan retorted, "Your back is already bad, why are you sleeping on a hard surface?" The two were clearly bickering even through the phone.
Luo Fei smiled, said "Mom, I'll listen to you," and hung up the phone.
Upon arriving at the entrance, a black sedan was parked.
The driver was a young man in casual clothes. When he saw Luo Fei come out, he quickly opened the back door.
Luo Fei got in and said, "Kyoto University, Faculty of Letters." The car started, drove out of the gate, and merged into the traffic.
The car drove for about forty minutes and then stopped at the south gate of Kyoto University.
Luo Fei got out of the car and took a deep breath.
The air on campus is different from outside; it carries a scholarly air and the fresh scent of freshly mowed lawns.
He took out his phone and sent Luo Ying a message: "Are you at school? I'm at the south gate of your school."
Less than five seconds after sending the message, Luo Ying replied with a single word: "Huh?"
Then another message came: "Bro, don't kid me."
Then came the third one: "You really came???"
Luo Fei took a picture of the South Gate and sent it over.
Luo Ying replied with a long string of exclamation marks, then said, "You wait! I'm coming out right now! Don't go!"
