Chapter 14 Wolf Skin Suit

A wooden shed in a poor neighborhood in Linchui Town.

More than ten days have passed in the blink of an eye.

Since becoming a Black Iron-rank adventurer, Lindsay hasn't gone on any missions recently.

This is related to Eric and his companion leaving, and of course, it also aligns with his own plans.

The excitement of saving someone at the tavern last time hadn't subsided, so lately he'd been choosing to eat at the tavern during quieter times to avoid attracting unwanted attention.

As for Eric, the reason he gave in the tavern that day was that he was too weak.

Eric later took on a carriage escort mission, leaving Linchui Town for the nearest city—Windwhisper City. The instructors at the training camp in the city were of a higher level, so he decided to train there to improve himself.

Camilla was quite satisfied with her own abilities, but since her brother was so determined, she naturally went along with him.

During the time he wasn't doing any missions, Lindsay ate many different dishes, such as bread, lentil soup, stews, and various salads...

He basically ate every dish in the tavern that cost less than 2 silver coins.

Of course, to his delight, the [Devour Growth+] monster ability was successfully activated twice.

[[Devour Growth+] effect activated, Strength +1]

[[Devour Growth+] effect activated, Perception +1]

The added attributes seem to be random, without any pattern.

Lindsay opened the panel.

--------

The fastest growth I've experienced in these ten days has been in my swordsmanship, which has now reached the mastery level.

[Sword Weapons: Mastery]: When using sword weapons, hit rate increases by 10%; parry rate increases by 10%; sword speed increases by 10%; agility +1.

Lindsay went to the training camp every afternoon, never forgetting to hone his swordsmanship, and finally improved his skill on the ninth day.

Although he felt he didn't have any new insights into the techniques, the 1 point of agility he gained made him more flexible.

Meanwhile, he also went to a deserted place outside the town to practice [spell-like ability • Fire Arrow] for a few days.

After repeated attempts, he was able to fire fire arrows with the same precision as the previous fire goblin.

He also discovered that his limit was a maximum of 7 uses, which seemed to be related to his intelligence or physical condition.

I'm still not sure which one it is. I'll try again when the attributes improve.

Lindsay also enrolled in a shield course and, under Instructor Rhodes' guidance, reached the basic level in just a few days.

[Medium Shield: Basic]: When using a medium shield, block rate +20%; shield durability +20%.

Looking at the round wooden shield lying in the corner, which he had casually bought at the blacksmith's shop for 3 silver coins, Linsel had some questions about himself.

I've been improving very quickly these days, and I've learned so many different kinds of weapons and still have energy left. I can even maintain my muscle memory. Could it be that I really have some kind of talent?

The most likely scenario is that the cheat code panel is like the one in the game, where the data is static; once you learn it, you've mastered it and won't regress.

If that's the case, then becoming a versatile weapons master isn't impossible.

Linsset tidied up his equipment.

The past ten days or so of preparation and rest have been quite sufficient; in fact, after deducting necessary expenses, our wallets are empty. Today is the day we must continue our adventure.

Of course, before going there, I need to go to the tailor shop to find old Zane; the custom-made leather armor should be ready.

Linsset left the shed, crossed the street, and arrived at the tailor shop a dozen minutes later.

"Grandpa, I've come to get the leather armor!"

The shop door was open, and Linsel went inside, where he saw old Zane arguing with a bronze-level female adventurer.

"Your leather armor is a high-quality repair type; the cost will be 8 silver coins, no less!"

"Please, could you give me a few less silver coins? I'm really short of money lately." The female adventurer clasped her hands together, her tone soft and cheeky.

Old Zane saw Lindsay walk in, leaving the female adventurer aside, and waved to Lindsay.

"Kid, did you bring the money? I've already finished your wolfskin suit!"

"You brought... a wolfskin suit?"

Linsel now had 16 silver coins and some copper coins. He placed all the silver coins on the counter, and then saw old Zane take out a set of gray leather armor from under the counter.

This leather armor is sturdy and thick, with several rows of iron studs embedded in a breastplate at the front, and the outer layer is wrapped with wolf fur.

There was also a pair of wolf fur gloves and wolf fur boots next to it. What surprised Lindsay the most was the custom-made leather hat that old Zane took out from under the counter, which was made from the head of a dire wolf.

The wolf's head had its mouth wide open, with sharp fangs. The person wearing the headpiece looked out from inside the wolf's mouth, as if they were being devoured by the giant wolf, or as if they had transformed into the giant wolf themselves.

Lindsay immediately put the wolf-head fur hat on his head. It felt sturdy and didn't obstruct his vision.

"What kind of leather armor is that? Dire wolf leather armor? It looks a bit scary, but it's pretty cool." The purple-haired female adventurer next to Linsel stared at him and commented.

There aren't many bronze-level adventurers in Linchui Town. Lin Sai looked at the panel above the other person's head and examined it carefully.

[xxx, Human, Level 2 Rogue, Health: 80/80, Armor: 66/90 (Fine Leather Armor)]

A Level 2 Wanderer? Another professional.

"Linse, you can go inside and try on the leather armor. If you have any problems, just tell me."

"good!"

Linsel quickly went inside and changed into his dire wolf armor.

[Lince, Health: 90/90, Armor: 210/210 (Wolfskin Studded Leather Armor, Wolfskin Hat)]

[Special effect of the wolf-head fur hat: When fighting enemies with weak fighting spirit, it can intimidate their minds.]

Wolfskin armor has 135 armor, and a wolfskin hat has 75 armor. These stats are really good, and it even has a special ability!

Linsel was overjoyed; with this leather armor, his combat power would increase by more than just a little.

Linsel came out of the inner room and saw the female adventurer still standing there. She was anxiously wiping away tears.

It's just repairing leather armor, is it really that big of a deal?

"Please fix it for me. I only have 6 silver coins left. I can pay for the rest on credit. I really have no money left."

Old Zane's tone remained firm: "No, Claire, don't think I don't know. You can't gamble anymore. As long as you gamble even once, I won't give you credit. Eight silver coins is eight silver coins!"

A female adventurer named Claire saw Lindsay come out and turned around to ask for help: "Adventurer, oh right, Lindsay, you and the old shopkeeper are on good terms, so please help me persuade him."

"I don't know you yet. Let me introduce myself first. Old Zain said you gamble. What's that all about?"
