The ogre immediately squeezed out of the large iron cage, and at the same time, contestant number one, wearing leather armor, fired a crossbow bolt at the monster.

Lindsay then noticed that he had chosen two sets of weapons: a crossbow and a sword and shield. In the previous three matches, Lindsay had not seen any contestant carrying two sets of weapons.

The crossbow bolt struck the ogre's head, and the ogre immediately shook its head and covered it with its two large hands.

It seems the crossbows used in this competition aren't very powerful and can't cause much damage to the ogres.

When contestant number one saw that his crossbow bolts had little effect on the ogres, he dropped the crossbow, put on a sword and shield, and retreated somewhat timidly.

The ogre seemed to be enraged, its mouth agape as if it were roaring in battle. Without the barrier and the sound control machine, everyone watching would probably be affected.

Unlike other ogres Lindsay had encountered in his previous adventures, this ogre was not carrying any weapons. It simply brandished its two large hands and strode towards the human contestant opposite it.

The latter had already retreated to the edge of the dueling platform in a panic, seemingly frightened by the imposing aura.

Based on his combat experience, Linsel judged that this contestant was unlikely to win, since an average bronze-level adventurer would have little chance of winning against a monster with a threat level of over 3.

Just as he expected, the four pillars around the dueling platform suddenly lit up, and then the ogre collapsed.

"Contestant number one, Del, concedes defeat!"

The dwarf referee's ruling reached Lindsay's ears, confirming the outcome of the match.

The next Silver-level contestant was a burly middle-aged man wearing leather armor; his opponent was also an ogre.

Unlike the disheveled appearance of contestant number one, this contestant wielded a single-handed axe and actually withstood the ogre's [war cry], dodged more than ten attacks from the ogre, and inflicted multiple wounds on it.

The battle lasted for almost ten minutes. The second contestant exhausted the giant monster and finally killed it with a beautiful axe decapitation strike.

Ink raised one of the man's hands: "Contestant number two, 'Nofu,' wins!"

The third contestant also used his spear to wear down and defeat his ogre opponent. However, after watching the entire duel, Lindsay believed that this contestant's spear skills were not as good as "Iron Spear's".

Based on these two matches and his previous experience, Lindsay has gained a more objective understanding of the level of Silver-rank adventurers.

They each possess unique strengths, with at least two or three combat skills, and are capable of using two-handed weapons that are rarely used by Black Iron and Bronze adventurers. They are also generally able to single-handedly eliminate monsters like ogres, which are difficult for ordinary people to deal with.

Number four has entered the arena. She is a female contestant of the Silver rank, but what Lindsay and the other spectators are more concerned about is that her opponent is a new type of monster.

This monster was also locked in a large iron cage. It was over two meters tall, with grayish-green skin, and was a size larger than an ordinary human. It was holding a large, thick stick.

Linsel leaned closer to the dueling platform and saw that the monster's green body was covered with some inconspicuous gray scales, and its long, sharp fangs protruding from its mouth to the left and right made it look extremely wild.

Judging from the panel, it's called a native orc, which seems quite similar to a goblin in some ways.

Linsel felt that goblins could be called "little green-skinned goblins" since their skin color was green, while orcs were "big green-skinned goblins."

Contestant number four fired an arrow from his short bow with great speed, hitting "Big Green Skin" on one shoulder.

The "big green-skinned" creature, however, seemed completely unaffected. It raised its thick, large club and charged towards its enemy!

Contestant number four moved and fired arrows simultaneously; her footwork was very agile, clearly indicating that she was using a combat technique.

Several more arrows struck the orc's body, drawing blood, but the orc still did not retreat.

Then Linsel saw the monster seize a tiny opening as its opponent took an arrow from the quiver on its back, and suddenly leaped towards the silver-level contestant.

Contestant number four didn't even have time to react before the orc knocked her onto the platform, and the "big green skin" immediately smashed her head down with the thick club in his hand.

Linsel had already envisioned the bloody scene that was about to unfold, but referee Inke's raised hand gesture dispelled that thought.

The prisms surrounding the dueling platform glowed brightly once more, and at the same time, the native orc seemed to have had some kind of switch flipped, immediately losing consciousness and collapsing.

"Contestant number four has lost!"

Fortunately, Dwarf Ink stopped the match in time, saving the fourth contestant's life, but the audience was not very happy.

"Go ahead and smash it! Why did you call a stop?!"

"A rare sight in the country—the savage orcs—and the competition's already over?"

Linsel looked around. Many people and adventurers were shouting, dissatisfied with the result of the competition, but some people looked very calm.

As number five, it's my turn to take the stage next.

Linsel entered the temporary changing room. After entering, he chose chainmail and an iron helmet as his self-defense equipment. After all, agility was not his strong point, so chainmail, which had higher protection capabilities, would be better.

The iron helmet provided by the guild is the same style as the nose visor of my own wolfskin helmet.

As for weapons, he chose a crossbow and an iron sword, as well as a round wooden shield, which were placed on a wooden shelf.

This wooden crossbow is much smaller than my own pulley crossbow, but still larger than a hand crossbow.

"Hello, I've already selected two sets of weapons. Can I choose a third set?" Lindsay asked a staff member standing outside the changing room.

In the three matches he had fought before, Lindsay had always thought that he could only use one set of weapons, since he had seen that the other contestants were also using the same set.

The result was that there was no such rule, and I had never thought of it at the time. Was it because of the herd mentality that I accepted it after seeing other contestants?

However, these things were not very important. In the end, he chose a two-handed long axe from the wooden shelf. This axe was larger than the coachman's long sickle axe he had bought, and the blade was polished to a high shine.

The reason for using a long axe is that Linsel has learned about two of the three types of opponents. If the opponent is a monster like an ogre or a native orc, which is not good at dodging, it is easier to make a bigger wound with a two-handed axe.

These three weapon sets will be chosen!
