Chapter 58 Intense Battle

"Are you all alright!" The ogre's war cry had little effect on Wood, while the dwarf beside him loudly encouraged everyone.

Hang in there! You're all great lads!

Lindsay only felt a slight discomfort in his ears.

The cannibals' javelins struck the wooden fence, bounced up, and landed in front of the large iron gate.

The reinforcement magic on this wooden fence is really effective.

As Linsel was marveling at this, he then saw the goblin wolf riders following closely behind the ogres quicken their pace. They rushed to the torch posts outside the village, swung their stone knives, and chopped them down, extinguishing the torches.

Suddenly, darkness fell outside the village, and visibility was greatly reduced.

"This is bad, I can't see clearly." Judith had just fired an arrow when a thick javelin crashed into the gate, making a loud noise as it pierced through the iron door.

"Has everything recovered?" Captain Wood asked to confirm.

He saw that most of the people had recovered and had drawn their bows again, and the rain of arrows resumed.

"The cannibals are getting closer!"

The middle-aged adventurer swung his sling, sending stones flying in an attempt to slow the ogre's advance.

The ogres were now almost entirely covered in arrows, and they were still staggering forward, less than ten meters from the large iron gate.

Sheriff Will commanded, "Quickly, keep shooting! Throw out all the spellcasters!"

Lindsay held his left hand diagonally downwards through a gap in the wooden fence, ready to fire a flaming arrow, but then a thought suddenly flashed through his mind.

Where is that troll?

As he was thinking this, he seemed to smell a scent of earth.

Then, a spherical boulder the size of a small wooden house suddenly flew out of the darkness!

The giant rock crashed into the iron gate with a deafening clang that left a long, lingering sound. The force of the impact instantly knocked over a dozen people guarding the gate.

The massive iron gate was struck by the boulder, leaving a large, exaggerated dent. Although the gate was not completely destroyed, it was already on the verge of collapse.

"What is that...?"

Captain Wood got back to his feet, and the dwarf beside him roared, "It's a big rock! One more shot and we'll break this iron gate!"

"Guys, the iron gate is about to fall, retreat quickly!"

The remaining dozen or so people helped each other to their feet and retreated together.

Apart from the people on the watchtower, the "goat" on the wooden fence platform, the female ranger, and other militiamen and guards all jumped down and retreated.

Linsel hadn't retreated yet; he was still using [Dark Vision++] to observe, and he saw the troll appear in his field of vision.

The other person held another boulder in their two huge hands, then swung it forward, preparing to throw it again.

"Get away from the iron gate quickly, the troll's giant rock is coming again!"

Linsel had just finished his warning when the boulder flew over again, smashing the iron gate open and crashing it into the open space inside the village.

There shouldn't be any giant rocks around Linxi Village, so where did this giant monster get it from?

"The door's broken! Quick, form a spear formation!"

Will jumped down from the wooden fence platform and directed the dozen or so men who were engaged in close combat to form a wall of spears.

With the iron gate breached, goblins of all sizes launched their attack.

After the troll threw the giant stone, it retreated into the darkness again, and Linsel could smell the earth in his nostrils once more.

Such a sudden olfactory stimulation must be related to that boulder!

"Mr. Will, that boulder was thrown by a troll! Spread out quickly, it's preparing to throw a third one!"

Upon hearing this warning, the spear wall formation disbanded immediately without waiting for Will's order.

The goblin wolf riders were fast and charged straight into the gate. They came on strong and rushed towards the village and the nearest militiamen and guards.

"Ah ah..."

These few unfortunate men, closest to the enemy, were swallowed up by the wolf riders.

The dire wolves, their claws drawing blood, grew even more ferocious and charged forward again, carrying the goblins.

"Use your spears to maintain distance and be wary of these wolf riders!"

Judith quickly drew her short bow, and the archers nearby also fired arrows, many of them flying towards the wolf riders.

The goblins were hit by arrows and fell from their dire wolves, turning them, along with the charging dire wolves, into hedgehogs.

"Keep firing! The ogres are coming in."

Will pointed to the iron gate, where the ogres, riddled with arrow wounds, slowly approached.

"Get to the door quickly, get ready to deal with those ogres!"

Wood wielded a two-handed sword, followed closely by the dwarf and other Dark Iron adventurers.

As soon as they reached the door, an ogre wielding a giant wooden club stepped through the gate.

"Now!"

Wood swung his two-handed sword at the ogre who was standing sideways by the open gate, while the other conflicted adventurers also rushed forward, wildly stabbing his thick legs with their spears.

Caught off guard by the sudden attack, the ogre fell to its knees, its massive body blocking the doorway.

The group then unleashed another flurry of stabs, killing the ogre.

The dead ogre successfully trapped the other two ogres outside! Lindsay watched as they roared, then threw down their giant clubs and began to eat the dead ogre's flesh.

However, goblins began to pour in from beside the fallen ogre, engaging the adventurers in battle and becoming entangled with them.

Linsel was still on the wooden fence platform, firing his crossbow at the goblins entering from the outside.

Several of them were killed by crossbow bolts.

However, the other goblins showed no fear of the casualties and continued to rush into the gate.

Linsel searched for the troll in the darkness, growing anxious as the creature failed to appear.

Wood and his men are handling things by the gate, so there's no need to worry too much.

He didn't use his Fire Arrow much, saving it specifically for the enemy troll, but he didn't see the goblin shaman or the high priest either.

Wait a minute, since almost all the goblins are rushing into the gate, doesn't that mean these goblin shamans have lost their protection?

This bold idea greatly excited Lindsay.

He climbed over the wooden fence and quickly headed southwest, making a large loop.

Meanwhile, he continuously used [Dark Vision++] to confirm the positions of the shaman and the high priest.

I see!

Four goblin shamans were dancing in the darkness a little distance from the east gate of the village, gathered with the goblin high priest, maintaining control over the giants.

Linsset charged at his opponent! He charged forward with his left palm facing outward.

Flame arrows, flame arrows…

Two consecutive fire arrows shot straight at the two goblin shamans, causing a small-scale explosion!

Two goblin shamans screamed as they were engulfed in flames and collapsed. The other two were also terrified by the explosion and hurriedly retreated.

Linsel, wielding his long-handled sword in one hand, was almost upon them when he fired another flaming arrow.
