Lindsay and "Broken Arrow" followed the female knight Karina through the main entrance of the stone building.

Inside the stone building, the windows were tightly closed, the light was dim, and the floor and tables were covered with a thick layer of dust. Cobwebs covered the corners of the walls, suggesting that no one had been there for a long time.

The three remained silent, and the female knight paced cautiously, carefully observing every corner of the building.

She stepped onto the creaking wooden stairs, slightly startled, but did not stop. After going up to the second floor and looking around, she did not find any trace of the cultists.

After walking a few steps forward, I found another side room on the right, and the smell of blood was coming from inside.

At this moment, "Broken Arrow" and the female knight also came down from upstairs with oil lamps.

"Captain, are you in there? It's so dark down there."

"Broken Arrow" carried an oil lamp and entered the side room with the female knight, where they witnessed a somewhat chilling scene.

On the stone floor of the side room, a strange circular pattern was drawn with a mixture of some kind of powder and blood, and around it was a circle of white candles that had not been completely burned out.

"What is this? A cult ritual site?"

In response to the question about the "broken arrow," the female knight replied, "Yes, they used this ritual to contact their evil god, Dakul."

"And can you smell the blood? This ritual requires blood, and it has to be human blood. It's truly gruesome."

Linsley touched the ring of blood with his hand: "These bloodstains haven't dried for long, and the air quality in the basement is alright, not particularly polluted, and there isn't much dust on the ground, which means someone has been here."

"Captain, the stone building is covered in dust. How do you explain that? Could there be other secret passages leading to the outside world in the basement?"

"It's very likely, look carefully."

The three of them began searching the basement for other exits.

The female knight walked to the bookshelf and casually flipped through a few old books. One of them, however, was impossible to turn the pages of, as if it were embedded in the bookshelf.

She tried to take it out but couldn't, so she pushed it in again. Then the ground shook, and the bookshelf moved on its own, moving aside to reveal a passage.

"I've found the mechanism; it's in the books on the bookshelf. Let's go in."

The three entered the new passage and moved forward slowly. The passage was long and narrow, but they reached the end after walking for several dozen seconds.

"This is a dead end... Wait, there's a ladder here."

"Broken Arrow" raised the oil lamp, and Lindsay climbed up the wooden ladder. When they reached the top, there was a small wooden door and window with a handle. They opened it and bright light pierced in from the outside, making Lindsay and the other two feel uncomfortable in their eyes.

After getting used to it, the three of them climbed up and found themselves in a small courtyard surrounded by several wooden houses.

Lindsay heard the female knight's frustrated voice: "We've searched everywhere and the results are in, but we still haven't found those cultists."

They walked out of the courtyard and entered a small alley through the exit. At this moment, Lin Sai saw a guard who had spotted them and was running towards them from the passageway that was originally in the direction of the stone building entrance.

"Sir Knight, a group of guards has spotted cultists. They're quite formidable; please come to our aid immediately!"

What kind of cult could possibly overpower a group of three well-trained guards?

Lin Sai and his two companions immediately followed the guards. They turned two corners and then saw a crowd of onlookers at the entrance of an alley.

Two guards were blocking the alleyway, maintaining order among the crowd. When they saw the female knight approaching, they immediately waved and shouted.

"It's in the alley, come quick!"

Linsset took out his crossbow and prepared for battle.

The three walked into the alley, and Linsset heard shouts coming from the left alley entrance.

Upon reaching the alley entrance, inside the wooden fence of the courtyard, were three cultists wielding daggers, wearing hooded masks and black-gray leather armor, surrounded by several guards armed with spears.

Lindsay opened the panel.
