Chapter 95 On the Eve of a Major Mission

"Alright, adventurers, those who wish to sign up for this important mission, please register at the front desk. Let's hurry up."

The adventurers then began to line up at the front desk.

"Captain, come and sign up together." "Broken Arrow" had already lined up.

As Linsel was about to go over, he suddenly noticed that another adventurer party of four had entered through the main entrance of the Adventurers' Hall.

The silver-white nameplates on their shoulders and chests shimmered white under the glow of the luminous stone.

A dwarf, a robed mage, a female archer, and a warrior in long chainmail—they were clearly the Iron Fang squad.

The robed mage Rolf saw Lindsay as soon as he entered the room, and he immediately went up to shake hands with him.

"I knew it was you the moment I saw that werewolf outfit, 'The Werewolf Slayer,' we meet again."

Lin Sai shook hands with her: "I don't know where you went after you left Linxi Village last time, but now we've met again in Fengyu City. You must be here to participate in this important mission."

Wood, the captain of the Iron Fang, came to Linssey's side.

"Yes, our [Iron Fang] team happened to be near Wind and City these past few days, and we were invited by the guild, so we came here."

The female ranger Judith added, "If it weren't for the generous rewards promised by the guild, we wouldn't have abandoned the village quest and come here directly!"

The dwarf carrying the giant shield patted Linsel on the waist: "Kid, I've got my eye on you for this mission! I believe you'll restore the glory of adventurers of yesteryear!"

"Hey, it's the [Iron Fang] squad!"

A young man of silver rank, with a mace at his waist, walked towards Linsel while shouting, and his voice once again drew the attention of the crowd that had been focused on the female knight.

Following behind the man with the hammer were three people: a tall, robust man in plate and chainmail, the half-elf Linssey had just met, and another unfamiliar dwarf.

"We are the Zinc Steel Squad, Wood, it's nice to see you again."

Wood, the captain of [Iron Fang], shook hands with him: "Lance, how have you been? I heard about [Zinc Steel]..."

The two dwarves then came together, beaming with joy and excitement, reminiscing as if they were their respective captains.

"Brother Stone, it's a pleasure to meet an old friend in a foreign land!"

"Brother Tank Shield, it's been over ten years since we ventured out of Ironhills. Now that this mission is complete, why not return home and visit our clan members?"

"We've been on this adventure for quite a while now..."

The half-elf and the female archer in the two silver-level squads remained silent.

"Captain, you've been gone for ages. I've already signed up under the name of the [Sharp Teeth] squad. We bronze-level adventurers will get 1 gold coin and 40 points after completing this mission."

Furthermore, the guild will provide an additional monetary reward of 40 copper coins per adventurer based on the number of cultists they kill.

One gold coin? The reward is very high.

It seems that killing cultists is more valuable than killing goblins. But how can I identify the cultists and prove that I killed them?

Lindsay expressed his question to Brinnan, who replied, "All cultists have one obvious characteristic: they all have scars on their upper bodies left from the Dakul ritual, forming a somewhat eerie pattern."

"Just order the refugees to take off their clothes to prove their identity. Those who refuse, I just checked with the guild, and they can be handed over to the guards and dealt with according to the law."

"What about me? Have I registered yet?" Claire asked.

"Phantom, have you forgotten? You're not a formal member of our [Sharp Teeth] team, so you need to register yourself."

"Damn it, I forgot." The female vagrant immediately walked quickly towards the front desk.

Lindsay nodded: "Is the quest log ready? I'd like to take a look at it."

"Okay, it's on the taskbar."

--------

Mission: Clean up the cult organizations surrounding Wind and City. Bronze level, long-term effect.

Rewards: 1 gold coin and 40 points per person, 40 copper coins for each cultist killed.

Note: Cult groups have recently resurfaced around Wind and City. Please eliminate them and eradicate the cult!

--------

He saw that most of the adventurers in the hall had completed their registration, and the female knight Karina had already gathered outside the guild and was waiting.

"Alright, Brinnan, once Claire has registered, we'll go back to the Forest Friends Tavern to get the equipment and items, and then we'll set off."

……

After making some simple preparations, Lindsay, along with "Broken Arrow" and Claire, arrived at the entrance of the Adventurers' Guild.

A team of over fifty adventurers has already gathered here, including more than thirty bronze-level adventurers, more than ten iron-level adventurers who dare to take on the challenge, eight silver-level adventurers named [Iron Fang] and [Zinc Steel], and the female knight Karina.

After waiting a minute or two in the somewhat noisy queue, the female knight called out, "We can't wait any longer. The adventurers are almost all here. Now we'll split into four groups."

The first group, the [Iron Fang] team plus eight people, will go to the North Gate; the second group, the [Zinc Steel] team plus eight people, will go to the West Gate; the third group, your group of twenty-odd adventurers, will go to the East Gate; and the last group, led by me, plus eight people, will go to the South Gate.

Lindsay and his two companions were assigned to the fourth group.

Before leaving, Lindsay found the robed Farolf and showed him the feather artifact he had previously acquired.

"Excuse me, how do I infuse this artifact with magic to make it work?"

Rolf adjusted his mage hat and answered Lindsay's question very seriously: "This requires you to touch it with your hands and feel the flow of magic within your body with your heart."

Don't worry, even an ordinary person can sense it, and will naturally be able to infuse it with magic power, not to mention you'll be able to use the fire arrows very well.

Karina, along with Linssey and two others, and five other bronze-level adventurers, headed towards the south gate.

It was almost midnight. Along the way, every wooden house and shop had its doors tightly shut, but the faint light coming from the windows showed that people were still awake.

"The atmosphere is a bit tense." "Broken Arrow" checked the arrows in the quiver on his back.

"Sir Knight, what should we do next?" A bronze-level adventurer wielding a sword and shield finally couldn't help but ask.

"Adventurers, just follow my orders. We'll head to the south gate and cooperate with the guards to search for any hidden cultists among the refugees."

Then the cultists will naturally appear.
