The Black Bloodline of Hogwarts

Chapter 15 Break the Dead Bar

"Evans?" Dumbledore's eyes flashed, and he sat up straight. "That's an interesting coincidence. No wonder, no wonder."

Dumbledore tapped his fingers lightly on the table. "Many Muggle-born wizards may have wizarding blood in their ancestors many generations ago, though this is still debated."

"So it's not surprising that the Evans family can produce a Lily and then a Julien," Professor McGonagall agreed.

"And what about the child himself?" Dumbledore asked, this was his biggest concern.

"The child himself... was very calm," Professor McGonagall said, recalling the incident.

Professor McGonagall even managed a tiny, uncharacteristic upward curve to her lips. "Despite his parents' initial strong skepticism and resistance towards magic, Julien seems to have anticipated it all and is filled with anticipation. His eyes are calm, unlike the restless ones of children his age. And Albus, his eyes..."

"Yes, I already guessed," Dumbledore said softly. "Exactly like Lily. Emerald green, like an olive leaf after the rain."

"Not only that," Professor McGonagall lowered her voice, "the magical energy I sensed in him was pure and powerful, and its characteristics... were remarkably similar to Lily's back then. That vibrant and resilient power that originated from life itself."

"What a wonderful arrangement of fate!" Dumbledore nodded slowly, his gaze fixed on the deep night sky outside the window.

"Minerva, look, the Muggle-born Evans family has produced two generations of wizarding geniuses. Magic is like the vast starry sky; we know so little about it."

Professor McGonagall nodded in deep agreement. "I truly hope this child can come to Gryffindor." Professor McGonagall spoke with unwavering conviction. "I hope to personally guide him to become a true wizard, just like Lily."

"Well said, Minerva," Dumbledore approvingly said. "Then, proceed as planned. Next week, take him shopping in Diagon Alley. And... keep an eye on his choices for me."

"Of course I will, why are you still worried?" Professor McGonagall asked.

"After all, this is the year Harry enrolls, so we need to be extremely cautious."

Professor McGonagall frowned slightly at the mention of Harry.

"By the way, Albus, about Harry Potter… I learned from Julien's mother that Harry wasn't doing well with the Dursleys. Petunia Evans claimed Lily died in a car accident, clearly to cover up the truth. Dumbledore, are you sure putting Harry in that kind of family was the right decision?"

The smile on Dumbledore's face faded, replaced by a deep worry.

"Blood ties are the strongest protection, Minerva. As long as Harry still considers that place 'home,' Voldemort can't harm him. This is the protection Lily earned for him with her life. As for the rest... well, some patience is necessary."

"Necessary?" Professor McGonagall's tone carried a hint of displeasure. "Watching a child grow up in a cupboard, enduring mistreatment—is that what you call 'necessary'?"

Dumbledore was silent for a moment, then simply waved his hand wearily. "We'll talk about that later. Now, let's focus on this new student. Hopefully, he can bring something... different to Hogwarts."

Professor McGonagall gave the principal a deep look, said nothing more, and turned to leave the office.

After the door closed, Dumbledore sat there alone, his fingers unconsciously stroking a de-escalator that had been turned off on the table.

After a long silence, he murmured to himself, "Shillem Julien Black... the one who sculpted the starry sky. I hope your arrival can truly reshape the starry sky."

A week passed in the blink of an eye.

That morning, outside number 3 Wycombe Court on Charing Cross Road, Julien wore a well-tailored dark blue suit, looking both energetic and youthful.

His parents, Altair and Clara, also came along, their eyes filled with curiosity and a hint of barely perceptible nervousness. After all, today they were about to step into a completely unknown world.

Professor McGonagall arrived on time. Today she was wearing a dark purple robe and looked less dignified and more approachable than during her last home visit.

"Good morning, Mr. and Mrs. Black." She nodded to Julien's parents, then said to Julien, "Are you ready, Schiller?"

"Ready, Professor!" Julien replied excitedly.

"Very good. Then, please follow me." Professor McGonagall led them through the Muggle crowd on the street to the Leaky Cauldron, a dilapidated bar sandwiched between a bookstore and a record store.

"Is this the place? I pass by here almost every day, how come I've never noticed there's a run-down bar here before?"

"Is this the place?" Altair frowned as he looked at the crooked sign that read "Leaky Dry Pot." "This place looks crooked and could collapse at any moment."

"I saw this place last time Hermione and I came to this record store called Sister Ray," Julien said with a smile.

Professor McGonagall nodded slightly, without mentioning any Muggle banishment spells or anything like that, and simply smiled. "Appearances can be deceiving, Mr. and Mrs. Black." With that, she turned and pushed open the creaking wooden door.

Inside the door lies a completely different world. Despite the narrow facade, the bar is quite spacious inside, as spatial expansion charms are not uncommon in the wizarding world.

The air was filled with a complex aroma. It was the scent of burning candles, aged wood, alcohol, and perhaps some magical spice that Julien didn't know, creating a unique "Leaky Cauldron atmosphere."

In the dim light, amidst swirling smoke, several wizards dressed in strange robes sat around a table, smoking long hookahs and conversing in hushed tones.

A wine jug danced automatically in the air, constantly refilling the guests' empty glasses. Julien felt that unless you covered the rim of the glass with your hand, it would keep refilling until you passed out.

Behind the bar, a tall but hunched old man was wiping wine glasses.

"Good morning, Professor McGonagall." Hearing the noise, the old man looked up, clearly recognizing Professor McGonagall. "Bringing another new student to buy things?"

"That's right, Tom, good morning." Professor McGonagall greeted the old man familiarly, then turned to introduce him to the group, "This is Tom, the owner of the Leaky Cauldron. He's a very nice guy. If you have any questions in the future, you can ask Tom."

"Welcome!" Tom greeted the group warmly, then said to McGonagall, "Would you like to sit down and have a drink and relax, Minerva?"

"Thank you, but no, it was a short walk here and I'm not tired. Let's take care of business first."

At this moment, Julien noticed a little girl with long golden hair and rosy cheeks sitting inside the counter, reading a book and nodding her head.

Boss Tom noticed Julien's gaze and couldn't help but smile, "Little guy, let me introduce you. This is Hannah, Hannah Abbott. She's a relative's child, also a freshman this year. You two are classmates."

The little girl looked up when she heard the sound, appearing very shy.

Oh, so they are the future "Sword Saint's Wife" and the proprietress of this place.

"Hello, Hannah. My name is Schiller Julien Black, you can call me Julien, that's what my friends call me." Julien waved to greet her.

"Hello, Julien." At this moment, the young "Iron-Capped Prince" had already turned red even at the tips of his ears.

"Alright, Julien. Let's go to Diagon Alley first," Professor McGonagall casually called out to Julien, though she had been calling him Mr. Black or Mr. Schilling. "You can talk to your classmates when we come out later."
