Chapter 6 Brookhaven Hospital
Ross paused in cleaning her bandages, then looked up wearily. "What's wrong?"
"Actually... there's one more place we haven't looked for."
Chrisbella made the sign of the cross, feigning fear. "That's a forbidden area, the place where the power of darkness is most concentrated."
"where?!"
Ross's expression changed drastically.
Brookhaven Hospital.
After Chrisbella gave the location, she immediately put on a hypocritical face and tried to dissuade her.
"But it's too dangerous there. It's the entrance to hell. No one ever comes back alive. You absolutely mustn't..."
Ross completely ignored the rest of the nonsense; his brain filtered out words like "dangerous" and "hell," extracting only the key information: hospital = Sharon.
"Hospital?"
Rose's eyes lit up; she was a mother, and she wouldn't give up as long as there was a glimmer of hope.
But she wasn't stupid; she trusted the detective she had followed all the way more than the strange bishop.
She stood up and shouted:
"Mr. Suren! I know where Sharon is!!"
Chrisbella's fake smile froze, and her heart skipped a beat.
That damn stupid woman! Shouldn't you have gone there secretly and lured him there? What are you yelling about?!
"Oh?"
Suren had overheard their whispered conversation, but he didn't expect that Ross wouldn't act on his own like a character in a traditional horror movie who's lost their mind, but instead would tell him directly.
Looking at Ross's excited expression, and then glancing at the bishop in the corner who looked like he'd swallowed a fly, he almost couldn't help but burst out laughing.
"Where?"
Su Lun asked the question knowing the answer already.
Brookhaven Hospital!
Ross pointed eagerly to the bishop in the corner, "She said that place hasn't been searched yet, and although she said it's dangerous there, Sharon might be there!"
Ruined.
Chrisbella closed her eyes in despair.
Her original plan was to lure people to their deaths, to make them fight the demon, so that whoever won could weaken the other's power.
He could have easily profited from the situation, but Ross ended up selling her out completely.
She had hoped that Ross would secretly run off to his death, so that the man would definitely follow, but she didn't expect Ross to betray her!
"The hospital..."
Suren walked toward Chrisbella, "It seems Your Excellency is still keeping things to yourself."
Faced with Suren's mocking gaze, she waved her hands repeatedly in fright: "No... I just heard about it, I don't know either."
Suren wasn't angry; she walked a few steps to Chrisbella.
He grabbed her by the back of her collar and lifted her up:
"Since Your Excellency knows everything, it would be safer for you to lead the way in such a dangerous place."
"Right?"
……
Brookhaven Hospital was established in the early 20th century.
Originally a field hospital during the American Civil War, it housed countless soldiers with severed limbs.
Later, it gradually transformed into a specialized hospital for mental patients, becoming notorious for its outdated facilities and violent treatment methods.
This hospital operated in the town for nearly a century until it received Alessa, who suffered severe burns and poisoning all over her body.
Unable to treat such critically ill patients and under pressure from the church, they placed them in underground wards where there was no light of day, leaving them to live or die at will.
Pain breeds resentment, and curses spread from the ground.
Suren carried Chrisbella into the hospital lobby like she was carrying a dead dog.
To protect the bishop's safety, Suren kindly broke both of her legs.
He sometimes thinks he's quite a warm-hearted guy.
Chrisbella's expression was one of utter despair; her eyes were unfocused and staring blankly at the ground.
Behind him followed an uneasy-looking Ross, along with several members of his faith.
They stood there, trembling, gripping their weapons, glancing left and right.
One of them was carrying an iron cage, inside which was a quiet canary.
The group stopped in front of a half-open elevator door deep inside the hospital.
The elevator doors were old, with some outdated patterns engraved on them.
Chrisbella looked at the familiar elevator door, a glint of light in her eyes, her voice hoarse: "This is it. Go down... and I'll see the witch."
As long as we can keep him in the dark...
"very good."
Suren nodded, grabbed the half-open elevator door with one hand, pushed it open, and carried Chrisbella inside.
"No! Wait!"
When Chrisbella realized he had no intention of putting her down, she panicked instantly.
With her only remaining hand, she struggled to grab the elevator door, her face filled with terror: "No! No! I don't want to go down! I've already brought you there! Let me go!!"
"That won't do. You're the main character now."
Suren looked at her disgraceful state with amusement: "When you sent that little girl to the stake, you didn't ask her if she wanted to go."
Chrisbella's pupils contracted: "How do you know all this? Who are you?!"
Suren did not answer, but exerted a little force with her hand and dragged him into the elevator car.
Rose bit her lip and entered the elevator without hesitation. She was willing to let her daughter go anywhere as long as she could save her.
Outside the door, several believers looked at each other, somewhat hesitant.
On one side is the bishop whom one has no choice but to follow, and on the other is a forbidden area where witches are said to exist.
"Chirp chirp—"
At this moment, the bird in the cage in the believer's hand suddenly became agitated, began to frantically pound the cage, and made rapid bird calls.
"Waaah—waaah—"
A loud, deep air raid siren blared over the town.
Suren raised an eyebrow, touched the blood seeping into the elevator with great interest, rubbed her fingers together, and smelled it.
Instead of fear, a hint of curiosity flashed in his eyes: "This is the Otherworld?"
The surface of the surrounding walls and ground began to curl up like pieces of paper and float into the air. Flesh and blood tissue began to spread, intertwining with the rusty wires to form a new, dark environment.
The believer carrying the birdcage paled and cried out in panic, "Run! Darkness...darkness is coming!"
The darkness they speak of is the other world.
Silent Hill is divided into three worlds: the real world, the surface world, and the hidden world.
In the real world, Silent Hill is just an abandoned town.
The Silent Hill of the surface world is just like the one Suren and Ross encountered when they first met: the road to the outside world is blocked, and there are a few monsters.
When Alessa's anger becomes uncontrollable, the surface world collapses, transforming into the inner world.
This is the real monster paradise, where any living creature is merely prey.
Only when her anger subsides will the world return to normal and become the real world again.
"Run! Get back to the church!!"
The believers no longer hesitated, casting aside their loyalty to the bishop. What was the bishop compared to their own survival!
However, they hadn't run far when a rusty giant blade suddenly blocked their way.
"Pfft—"
Before the believers could react, their upper and lower bodies separated, and blood gushed out, being absorbed by the ground and walls.
A monster wearing a huge triangular helmet and with its upper body bare emerged from around the corner and stood in the middle of the corridor.
Triangular head.
This is the most classic and oppressive executioner in Silent Hill, the embodiment of Aretha's inner judgment.
Its upper body was stained with the blood of believers, and it held a large knife, silently staring at Suren inside through the slowly closing elevator doors.
"ah!!"
Inside the elevator, Ross covered his mouth, watching this scene in horror.
As the elevator doors closed, Pyramid Head disappeared outside.
The elevator car began to fall.
The originally sealed elevator car rapidly corroded and disintegrated during the descent, leaving only the rusty skeleton and floorboards, revealing the outside world.
What came into view was not the elevator shaft I had imagined, but a deep abyss burning with raging flames.
Countless wires crisscrossed the area, some with charred corpses hanging from them, emitting silent wails in the flames.
It was as if they weren't riding an elevator, but a direct train to hell.
Chris Bella was ashen-faced. She knew all too well what lay beneath the hospital: the evil she had committed years ago, and the very source of the entire Silent Hill.
"bite--"
After an unknown amount of time, the elevator finally stopped with a crisp beep.
The elevator doors slowly opened.
