Archer's Adventure Manual

Chapter 028: Half-Elf Ranger Elfin

Loran temporarily placed Linwen and Noah in a safe location and instructed Brian to guard them there while he went to investigate a place closer to the village.

He saw the carcasses of two wild boars in the village. His pupils contracted slightly. These two wild boars were exactly the same as the ones he had encountered before.

Adventurers are generally aware of the strength of wild beasts.

For example, common prey like mountain boars do not possess such formidable strength and are easily hunted by adventurers.

Because the mutation of wild boars is an extremely rare occurrence, it is possible that the wild boars came into contact with some kind of energy source related to the earth element.

Alternatively, long-term use of plants nourished by elements may have caused ordinary mountain wild boars to mutate and become a variant of the mountain wild boar.

Under normal circumstances, even though mountain boars possess powerful charging ability and high defense, adventurers can still kill them through pulling and effective attacks.

After all, they are still flesh and blood beings.

But the situation is different when facing the mountain wild boar variant, which has rock layers on its skin and is much larger than the ordinary wild boar.

The effect of adding a certain amplification to the original value is not as simple as 1+1=2.

Without magic or an effective way to break through its defenses, adventurers would be in a very passive state because they couldn't break through the defenses. In addition, with the increased strength and speed of the wild boar, they wouldn't even be able to escape.

This resulted in them being unable to fight back or escape.

The fact that three mutant mountain boars appeared in such a rare occurrence is something to ponder.

Fortunately, the wild boars have been dealt with by someone and are currently safe.

Loran cleared his mind of the jumbled thoughts. He could now temporarily transfer Linwen and Noah over to prevent any further accidents from happening.

Someone spotted Loran and Brian dragging two wounded men and exclaimed in surprise.

"Someone's back! He's brought two wounded men with him, everyone hurry and go meet them!" a villager shouted.

Upon hearing this, Vance went to check. After defeating the two wild boars, he sent two agile adventurers to scout out the situation of the adventurers outside. Why did they return so quickly?

But upon seeing Loran's face, he dismissed the idea. There was only one possibility left: this was a surviving adventurer from the outer forest!

"Quick, bring them in! Get them treated first. If they seem to be doing well, I'd like to ask them about their condition," Vance said excitedly.

This intelligence is undoubtedly invaluable; every additional piece of information could mean another adventurer could be rescued...

Soon, Loran saw several people coming to greet him, and he breathed a sigh of relief.

"How are they?" a very strong-looking man asked.

"They are not in any immediate danger, but they need to rest, especially since their clothes are still damp. I really need a dry environment," Loran said, expressing her request.

The man nodded firmly. "I understand. In the face of disaster, we all need to unite. Come on, I'll help you! Brothers, lend a hand!"

Soon, several people rushed forward and helped Loran take the unconscious Lin Wen and Noah back to the village. The villagers also vacated their rooms to provide temporary shelter for the adventurers.

Loran led the two into the room, where an older woman gave them a quick check-up.

"Young man, you and this young lady are in the same adventurer team, right?"

Loran nodded. "Yes, that's right."

"In that case, please help this young lady change her clothes. These linen clothes belong to my daughter. If you don't mind, please let her wear them for now." The woman smiled kindly.

For a second, Loran's mind went blank. The old woman shoved Lin Wen into Loran's arms, then pushed the two of them into the room and closed the door.

"This..." Loran looked at Lin Wen, who was pale in his arms. After careful consideration, he felt that Lin Wen's life was more important!

He moved quickly and changed Lin Wen's clothes in no time, but his face turned a little red, well... probably because the room was too warm.

He came out, picked up Lin Wen, and gently placed her on the bed in the room. Meanwhile, a kind adventurer had already helped Noah change her clothes.

The room contained not only Lin Wenwen and Noah, but also many other people lying on the small beds next to them; they were all injured in the disaster.

Some were still unconscious, struggling in pain on their beds, and the villagers were providing them with treatment in any way they could.

Recovery potions are not available everywhere; these relatively expensive potions are usually only found in alchemy shops or adventurer guilds.

The remote village of Luoxi obviously did not have such medicine reserves. Their treatment methods were very similar to those of Loran, using ointments or powders made from natural plant mixtures.

It's very limited, but also very practical.

Loran changed his clothes as well. A villager was in charge of keeping track of these expenses, and adventurers like Loran could pay for them later.

The village's economy was already underdeveloped, and now it faces enormous pressure to repair and maintain its infrastructure. The village chief's statistics on these humanitarian aid donations are a last resort.

"Hello, are you Mr. Zhao Xin? Captain Vance would like to see you," an adventurer said as he approached Loran.

"Oh? Okay." Lorraine agreed. "Brian, you stay and watch over them."

"Okay~ Woof!"

The adventurer blinked, looking at Brian with a strange expression. Was he hallucinating? Why did he feel like the dog had just spoken?

Loran seemed to notice the adventurer's unusual behavior and quickly changed the subject, saying, "Well, let's go find Captain Vance."

"Okay, let's go."

Captain Vance wasn't too far away. He was chatting with a blond man when he saw Loran approaching and quickly greeted him.

"Brave adventurer, your name is Zhao Xin, right?" Captain Vance asked.

"Yes, but you can also call me Loran," Loran said calmly.

Captain Vance felt something was off, but didn't dwell on it. He pointed to the blond, handsome man beside him and introduced him:

"Brother Loran, this man beside me is the elven ranger Elfin. When you encountered danger in the wild, it was he who led the villagers to fight back against the mountain boars, creating a temporary breathing space for us."

Elfin also nodded politely to Loran.

"We want to know what's going on outside, and everything you know," Vance said seriously. "This is no small matter. I need to report to the Adventurers' Guild to prevent a greater tragedy from happening."

Loran replied solemnly, "Alright, I will tell you everything I know."
