Archer's Adventure Manual

Chapter 029: Everything is fine

Loran then described the general course of events.

When asked how the wild boar problem in the mountains was solved, Lorraine kept it a little secret.

"I was so scared that I fainted. When I woke up, I saw the wild boar, which had been split in two and its head was missing."

"I think it was probably a kind adventurer who killed that mountain boar. Thanks to that adventurer who didn't show up... my teammates and I survived because of that."

Vance found Lorraine's experience strange, but he had already experienced many strange things today, so Lorraine's story wasn't entirely outrageous.

Hearing Loran's words, Elfin frowned and said, "Split a mountain boar in two? How terrifying would that power be? Are you sure that's what you saw?"

"Yes, I'm sure." Loran looked at Elfin, feeling that he vaguely remembered him, but couldn't quite place him.

Furthermore, he did not intend to conceal the wild boar's death, as it was an objective fact that everyone could see.

"Captain Vance, things may not be that simple. Do you remember the news of my disappearance these past few days? I was pulled into the depths of the forest by a strange force."

"Although I received the inheritance left by the ancient elves as a result, I still don't understand what kind of force pulled me there, or whether that force was benevolent or malevolent."

Erfin's words were full of worry.

Loran suddenly realized that this handsome blond man with pointed ears could be the elven ranger who had been rumored to have disappeared in town these past few days!

"You, you are that Elven Ranger of the Great Blade?" Loran asked in surprise.

"Well, to be precise, I no longer belong to the Blade of Excellence," Elfin said calmly.

After the group talked for a while, an adventurer came over to report the situation to Vance.

"Captain Vance, the two adventurers you sent out have brought news."

Soon, the two adventurers arrived in front of Captain Vance, both of them looking rather pale.

"Captain Vance...we...we went to the forest and found that all the adventurers who didn't return to the village are dead."

"Some of their bodies were torn to pieces, some were left with only limbs, and some had completely lost their body temperature... The smell of blood permeated the air, and for a moment, we felt that we were not in a forest, but in hell..."

Everyone present fell silent.

Loran's research also unconsciously shut down.

He initially thought the two mountain boars had launched a surprise attack on the village, but he never expected that the two boars had killed the adventurers first before coming to attack the village again.

In other words, it wasn't just Loran's team that was ambushed by wild boars; other teams encountered the same thing.

However, only Loran's squad survived; the other squads perished under the boar's tusks.

If it weren't for that headless monster, Loran's team would probably have been wiped out.

Could this be a premeditated attack by that headless monster? But what's the rationale behind doing so?

That monster was clearly powerful enough to kill everyone present with a single move; there was no need for it to go to such lengths to design a few wild boars specifically to kill adventurers like them.

Did those wild boars appear suddenly? That's unlikely, given how unexpected it was.

Loran suspected there might be a conspiracy behind this, but compared to that headless monster, what was this conspiracy?

This matter falls under the jurisdiction of the Adventurers' Guild, so Loran didn't dwell on it.

After talking with Vance and the others for a while, Loran returned to his room and kept an eye on Linwen and Noah's condition.

Both of them are gradually improving, but Noah has a pre-existing injury, so it will probably take some time for him to fully recover.

Although the village suffered a severe blow, fortunately, there was still enough food, including two huge wild boars to eat.

Tables of all sizes were set up in the square in the center of the village, where people gathered for a dinner party.

The adventurers also generously offered the wild rabbits they had hunted to supplement their food supplies.

The banquet was lively and filled with the relief of surviving a disaster and the joy of victory.

Everyone in the village, whether adventurers, villagers, mercenaries, or knights, put aside their differences and united as one.

No one knows whether other dangers will occur in the village. The villagers are like a small boat on the sea, and they must unite to avoid being swallowed by the waves.

Among them, Erfin, as a major contributor to this battle, naturally became the focus of everyone's attention.

They called Elfin a heroic adventurer, and everyone offered him their sincerest gratitude and blessings.

It's fair to say that without the help of this half-elf ranger, the village would likely have been reduced to ruins.

"We are able to sit here today thanks to Elfin, the brave adventurer. Let's raise our glasses of ale and praise the brave Elfin! You are our hero!"

The village chief raised his glass and addressed the crowd with high spirits.

"Honorable warriors of Elfen!"

"You are our hero!"

Elfen, standing on the wooden platform in the center of the square, enjoyed the praise from the crowd.

He humbly accepted the offer and responded loudly with a smile, "Without your help, I couldn't have dealt with those two troublesome guys by myself. You are the real heroes!"

Meanwhile, Loran, who was observing his teammates, noticed something amiss. Lin Wen's eyelids twitched, and then he suddenly woke up and sat up straight in bed.

She was breathing heavily, her eyes filled with fear.

However, she was greeted by a warm sensation. Upon closer inspection, she discovered that Brian was sticking out his tongue and licking her palm.

"Woof! Man, you're awake!"

Lin Wen blinked, stunned. Had she arrived in the legendary paradise? How could Brian talk?

"Linwen," came Luo Lan's voice.

Lin Wen suddenly turned around and saw that familiar figure.

"Loran!" Lin Wen excitedly hugged Loran tightly, tears welling up in his eyes. "This...this really isn't a dream? We...we've both survived?"

Loran patted Lin Wen's back gently. "Yes, everything's alright now. Brian is, and so is Noah. We've all survived."

"Was that terrible wild boar killed by your poisoned arrow? I knew you could do it!" Lin Wen sobbed while a joyful smile appeared on her face.

Loran fell silent upon hearing this, then sighed and said, "No, the poison in my arrows didn't work. It was a mysterious adventurer who killed the boar and saved us."

"It's good that everything is alright!"

"Yes, everything is fine."
