Archer's Adventure Manual

Chapter 054: Luring and Killing Goblins!

"Things are much more complicated than we thought... There are basic buildings in the camp, and it's possible that some of the individual goblins are quite intelligent. There are at least forty of them, and... they've also kidnapped several villagers."

Upon hearing Lin Wen's description, Loran frowned. "Won't these goblins kill innocent villagers because of our attack? If so, we'll be in big trouble."

Noah shook his head slightly. "No, they won't. I've dealt with goblins many times; that's not how they think."

"To the goblins, those villagers are their slave assets. If the goblins lose the sense of control over their slaves, they will become extremely distressed. They will not kill their own property unless absolutely necessary."

"And if we attack them, they will prioritize killing us rather than destroying their own assets."

Loran understood. "That makes things much easier."

Lin Wen began to draw a map, which included the approximate locations of the thatched huts and simple watchtowers, as well as the general conditions of the surrounding forest.

After some discussion, the group chose a forest path to lure the goblins out and defeat them one by one.

"Leave the attraction to me!" Lin Wen said with a smile.

Loran suggested, "Linwen, you can bring Brian along. Brian is very fast and very good at this."

Brian wagged his tail, his eyes brimming with anticipation. "I can't wait!"

"Alright, let's move out!"

Noah, sword in hand, stood ready, while Loran drew his arrows, preparing to fire.

Finita felt she could do something too, so she turned her head and focused her gaze on Loran's arrows.

"Loran, um... I have an idea!" Finita said seriously.

"Oh?"

......

"Brian, stay close to me!" Lin Wen said, running quickly with Brian.

Brian hadn't run so freely in a long time and was extremely excited.

Soon, they arrived at the front of the small goblin camp.

Lin Wen drew a small throwing knife from his waist and threw it at the head of a goblin who was joking around.

"Pfft!"

The throwing knife struck the goblin precisely on the head, and the goblin's body stiffened as it fell to the ground with a thud.

Several goblins were the first to react; they quickly grabbed their weapons and began chattering loudly.

The sound quickly spread throughout the camp, and all the goblins who were still resting immediately got up.

"Woof woof woof! You bunch of green dwarfs! Come and fight us!" Brian started barking.

Dozens of goblins bared their teeth at the sight and charged toward Brian with their weapons.

"Brian, run!"

Lin Wen and Brian raced forward, with the goblins in hot pursuit.

Lin Wen and Brian were so fast that if they ran too fast, the goblins might not even be able to catch their exhaust fumes!

Therefore, they had to wait a while while running so that the goblins wouldn't lose sight of their target.

Finally, they lured the goblins into the sight of Loran and his companions, and a flaming arrow suddenly flew towards one of the goblins behind them.

"puff!"

The arrow pierced the goblin's chest, and the intense heat instantly engulfed its internal organs. The goblin let out a painful howl and collapsed to the ground, convulsing and foaming at the mouth.

"Finita, again!" Loran nocked another arrow.

Finita rubbed the powder in her hands and sprinkled it evenly on the arrow, which instantly burst into flames—the magic trick "Ignite"!

Finita had been looking for an opportunity to help the team, but her own tricks were too weak, so she turned her attention to her teammates.

If her magic tricks can enhance her teammates' attacks, then they are not entirely worthless.

Ignite is a very good trick; even if it's not a magical flame, it can still deal considerable damage to enemies. Enchanting it onto Loran's arrows will further amplify its damage.

The effect was obvious: the arrows gained an extra layer of fire damage on top of their already high cutting power, preventing the possibility of failing to kill the goblin in one shot.

However, as the number of goblins increased, the limitations of archers became apparent; each draw of the bow could only take down one goblin, making their efficiency extremely limited.

Fortunately, Loran was not alone. Noah had already raised his greatsword and put on a set of iron plate armor, which provided both high defense and powerful damage.

Lin Wen and Blair, who had returned to the team, were waiting for their chance to make a move.

"Eeeeeeeeeeeeee!!" The goblins roared as they charged forward, wielding their clubs and striking Noah at the front.

Noah's eyes turned cold as he swung his iron greatsword, unleashing a powerful "Steel Slash!"

The sword, sharp enough to pierce through the rock armor of a mountain boar, slashed powerfully at the goblin's body in front of it, cutting the three goblins in half!

A few surviving goblins seized the opportunity and tried to attack Noah's head with sticks, but they found that he was too tall for them to reach!

They had no choice but to attack the leg armor it was wearing, but the wooden sticks only made a thumping sound when they hit the leg armor, without causing any damage.

Lin Wen suddenly pulled out a dagger from behind and thrust it across the goblins' throats, taking their lives.

Brian, already itching to pounce, pounced on a goblin trying to run towards Loran, pinned it to the ground, and tore off its hand with its sharp teeth, rendering it unable to move.

Then it slapped the goblin's head hard with its claws before moving on to deal with the next goblin.

In such a chaotic and close-range situation, Loran chose to activate precision shooting, as he needed to ensure that each of his attacks hit the goblins rather than his teammates.

After Lena's training, Loran's precision shooting felt completely different from before. He no longer had to think about anything else; he only needed to choose the target he needed to shoot at, and that was it. As a result, his mental energy consumption was greatly reduced.
