Archer's Adventure Manual

Chapter 060: A Strange Dream

"When he was lucid, he mentioned the origin of the ring, saying it was made by a blacksmith named Roger Ironan, the blacksmith in town?"

The village chief shook his head, then looked at the villagers and said with certainty, "I've never seen them before. They're probably villagers from another town. Roger Iron Anvil... I think I've heard that name before."

"Yes, Roger Iron Anvil's handicrafts are quite good. I often hear this name in the trade of the wagon caravans. This blacksmith seems to be from a rather remote town—West Ridge Town."

"Xiling Town is very far from here. If what you say is true, then these villagers were probably kidnapped from there. Would these goblins really bring their captives this far?"

"I will report this matter to the Adventurers' Guild. Adventurers, thank you for your contributions! I will prepare a completion report for this quest!"

And so, Loran and the others left Chatter's house and told the village chief all the information they had.

Loran also gave the ring to the village chief as a clue.

They were adventurers who came only for the reward. They had already completed their tasks, and the rest was up to the Adventurers' Guild.

However, it was already getting dark, so Loran and the others decided to stay overnight in Luolin Village and return the next morning.

With the village chief's introduction, Loran and his companions checked into a hotel for free. The rooms there were quite nice, much better than Loran's shabby room.

Loran patted Brian's fluffy head, yawned, and then comfortably slumped onto the bed. He had really expended a lot of energy today and needed a good night's sleep to replenish it.

Before going to sleep, Loran went through the skills in his manual again, and learned the newly unlocked 'Rapid Fire' skill and 'Crippling Strike' talent.

I also took the opportunity to learn the 'Steel Slash' skill that Noah unlocked. This warrior skill is quite powerful, and it can even put up a fight against mutant mountain boars.

If faced with a particularly difficult situation, Loran can also resolve it through melee combat.

Having done all this, Loran didn't think about anything else and quietly drifted off to sleep.

.......

"Loran, to become a true knight, you need a strong physique! Your uncle Clyde will take you to Plassen, where excellent mentors will guide you!"

A serious-looking man looked at Loran with expectant eyes and spoke softly.

Loran was completely bewildered. He vaguely remembered that he was sleeping. And who the hell was this old man in front of him?

After careful consideration, the profound memory finally surfaced in Loran's mind.

The person standing before me... is actually Loran's father!

To be precise, he was the original owner of the body, Loran's, father.

So, is he dreaming right now?!

The scene before him seemed incredibly real. Loran pinched his face and could even feel the pain, which was truly perplexing.

"Lorraine, what are you still standing there for? Your uncle is already waiting for you in the carriage!" the stern-faced man continued.

If it were Lorraine herself, seeing her deceased father in a dream, she might not be able to rationally distinguish between dreams and reality.

But now Loran has changed people. Since it's a dream, he might as well have some fun. This is the first time he's experienced this feeling.

Loran followed Clyde into the carriage, which began to move, speeding towards the capital of Plassen.

Clyde and Loran chatted idly along the way, but the topics his knight father's friend brought up were rather boring, and Loran just gave perfunctory replies.

He was pondering why the dream felt so real, and why he was able to enter such a dream.

Suddenly, Loran thought of his unique qualities and called upon them in his mind.

An adventurous manual appeared in his mind's eye.

In his dream, he was even able to access the Adventure Manual!

He quickly opened his adventure manual and turned to the latest record.

"Survival Guide: You have entered a state of 'sleep'."

"A state of slumber?" Loran was completely bewildered. What was going on?

Loran sensed something was amiss. Since the manual contained such a warning, he should be more careful. Perhaps immersing himself in this dream wasn't a good thing.

So he looked around and suddenly said to Clyde in front of him, "Uncle Clyde, I need to use the restroom."

Clyde seemed like a real person; he said understandingly, "No problem, I'll stop, you can go."

"Uncle Clyde, it may take me a little longer."

"It's okay, I'll wait for you."

The carriage stopped, and Loran dove into a hidden patch of grass. After making sure Clyde couldn't see him, he ran as fast as he could, continuing to run forward.

He doesn't understand what dreams are exactly, but doing something extreme might cause changes in the dream.

Just like creating a small area in a game, loading another area would consume additional computing power, so he wanted to give it a try.

As Loran continued running, he could see that the things appearing in his dream were becoming more and more monotonous; it was a forest that stretched as far as the eye could see.

At the beginning, you can still see some details, such as flying insects on the leaves and reflections under the sunlight.

But as Loran ran further and further away, the design of these details became more and more perfunctory, the flying insects gradually disappeared, and the lighting effects were no longer present.

The moment Loran took a sudden step, the little dream seemed to collapse.

The surrounding forest vanished, and he found himself facing a retro street, shrouded in a hazy purple mist, looking like a dream.

The streets seemed quite lively, with vendors hawking their wares, pedestrians stopping to buy things, and children weaving through the streets, their laughter ringing out.

"Where am I?" Loran was dumbfounded. He was clearly still asleep, which meant he hadn't escaped the dream and was still in it.

But he clearly felt that he had escaped the dream just now? So what's going on now?

Loran was somewhat confused. Were these people NPCs from a dream? Or were they fragments of memories residing in Loran's mind?

To investigate these questions, Loran randomly picked up a person on the street, stared intently at his face, and searched his memory.

The result was that there were no memories related to this guy.

However, the man being stared at was displeased. He frowned at Loran and said with displeasure, "Why are you looking at me like that?"
