Archer's Adventure Manual
Chapter 061: Dream City Cobert Shop
"Oh, I'm so sorry. I was just lost in thought because of your extraordinary demeanor," Loran said apologetically with a smile.
The man's expression softened, and he looked at Loran teasingly, "You've got a good tongue. What are you doing in the main world? If you want to buy something, I can help you."
"Buy something?" Loran was taken aback. It was just an NPC from his dream, so why was it starting to chat with him and even helping him? What did this mean?
Driven by curiosity, Loran continued, "Uh...yes! There is indeed this need! If you can help me, that would be wonderful."
"Hey, since we've met, this is our store's VIP discount card. You can enjoy a 8% discount on your purchases here, but it's only valid for the first ten items." The man took out a black card.
Lorraine took the card in a daze, while the man left with a smile and disappeared into the street.
I looked at the top of the card and it said—Dream City Corbert Store VIP Membership Card.
"Dream City?" Loran's doubts deepened.
He wandered around the streets for a while, and soon he spotted the shop called Corbert.
He naturally wanted to go inside and take a look.
"Hello sir, welcome to the Corbert Dream Store. What can I do for you?" A smiling lady greeted Loran politely.
Loran was slightly surprised when he entered the shop, which displayed rows of oddly shaped jars.
Upon closer inspection, each jar has its own unique description.
"Napoleon the Great - Unthinking Sword Technique"
"Description: He can use Napoleon the Great's signature move—the Unthinking Sword Technique—within his own dreams, capable of annihilating everything in sight!"
Price: Your entire soul
"Napoleon the Great's combat skills?" Loran was somewhat shocked. Reina had told him that Napoleon the Great was an extremely powerful figure in ancient times. How could a shop like this sell such a thing?
But this price... all of the soul?
Souls can actually be traded? If a person loses their soul, what's the point of combat skills...?
"That's right, this is the ultimate move that Napoleon the Great used back then. Once you have this skill, no one will be your match when you return to your dream world," the female shop assistant said with a smile.
Loran curled his lip and said, "I've already traded my soul away, what use is this combat skill to me?"
"Sir, it's not meaningless. Your soul is only temporarily leased by us. In fact, you still have the right to control yourself. For the moment, this deal is very worthwhile," the female clerk continued to explain.
Loran was shocked. What kind of nonsense was this saleswoman spouting? What kind of rental was this, and how could it be a good deal? It was more like a loan!
Loran waved his hand, he wasn't going to be fooled by this seemingly harmless female shop assistant, and continued browsing the information on the bottles.
"Dragon Pet"
"Introduction: This is a dragon that obeys every command absolutely. With him, conquering a kingdom is no problem!"
Price: Forever asleep
"Sir, this is quite a bargain compared to the previous one. Although the dragon's combat skills aren't as powerful as Napoleon's, its dominance level is more than enough, and the cost is quite low. In such a wonderful dream world, what fool would want to wake up?"
The female shop assistant flashed her signature smile once again.
"Is eternal sleep a relatively low price to pay?" Loran thought to himself, but he was increasingly shocked. He had actually entered a... strange dream world through sleep.
And it seems he's not the only one in this dream world!
This is ridiculous! Isn't this supposed to be a fantasy world full of swords and magic? How could such an absurd world exist...?
Loran shook his head. Ever since he learned of the existence of the Church of the Pre-Beginning and the whispers about Chinese on the skull, he had adopted an accepting attitude towards any strange things that appeared in the world.
So he decided to continue looking, and found that this small shop contained a surprisingly large amount of information.
"Thorne's Sword of the Warrior"
"Description: The sword once wielded by the great adventurer Thorne. Possessing it will make you the greatest adventurer ever!"
"Price: An Emotion"
……
"A set of battle armor forged from gold"
"Description: Not only can it be used for defense, but it can also be used to acquire large amounts of money!"
Price: Memory Fragment x1
"A fine warhorse"
"Introduction: This will be your most loyal battle partner!"
Price: Memory Fragment x1
These bottles are arranged from tallest to shortest, with the highest price being the entire soul and the lowest price being a fragment of memory.
'Fragments of memory...' Loran pondered, 'Could they be fragments of memories from reality...?'
Loran reviewed the information he had just seen in his mind and came to some conclusions.
He can buy things here, like dragons, warhorses, and the like.
So where do you use all these things you buy? That's right, in your own dreams.
This explains it.
Loran just broke out of the dream from the original owner's memories, which means he must have left his personal dream and now arrived in such a larger dream.
If he buys a dragon here, can he really create a dragon when he returns to his personal dream?
So let's assume that the dream that seemed so real could actually continue the story of life, creating a world that was incredibly close to reality.
But the once frail and weak boy suddenly acquired a demonic dragon!
Isn't this like suddenly getting a cheat code in the original world? Even if it's fake, just thinking about it is awesome!
Furthermore, since the protagonist of the memory is oneself, the sense of immersion is maximized. At that point, who would care whether it's a dream or not? Just treat it as real, right?
Loran seems to have figured out the logic behind the popularity of these products: using some real-world value to exchange for personal gratification in one's dreams... This is simply a devil's deal!
Loran didn't know how he had stumbled into this place by accident. Fortunately, there were enough people here that his presence didn't seem to be anything special.
"Excuse me, I'll go look around elsewhere." Loran smiled slightly, indicating that she wasn't particularly interested in these items for the time being.
The female shop assistant responded very politely, "It's alright, you're welcome to come again anytime."
No sooner had Lorraine stepped out of the shop than she brushed past someone who walked straight into the Colbert store.
The man looked hurried and didn't notice Loran.
Loran noticed him; his face seemed somewhat familiar...
Loran turned around and looked closely. His pupils contracted. Of course he recognized the man. Wasn't that one of the villagers he had rescued today?
Why is he here?
"Hello, I want... Thorne's sword!"
