Archer's Adventure Manual
Chapter 062: Mission Accomplished! Return Journey!
The villager looked very eager, and the female shop assistant led him to the back of the store, where she did something, though it's unclear what.
Loran didn't delve any further; he was thinking about how to return to his dream... or rather, how to return to reality.
As soon as this thought crossed his mind, a door seemed to appear in front of him, barely visible. Loran was startled and gently touched the door.
The next moment, the scenery around him changed, and he returned to the lush forest.
Loran parted the bushes in front of him and found Clyde still waiting for him there.
"Is he back?" Loran wondered to himself as he got back into Clyde's car.
They continued on their way, the carriage moving forward, but the journey to Plassen was long, and they wouldn't be able to reach it anytime soon.
Bored, Loran sat in the car, yawned, and gradually... fell asleep.
When Lorraine opened his eyes again, he was surrounded by a clean room floor and Brian staring at him with big eyes.
"Master! You're awake!" Brian leaned in and sniffed at Loran.
Loran looked on in disbelief, because he found himself not lying on the hotel bed, but... on the floor.
"Brian, why am I on the floor?" Lorraine asked curiously.
Brian blinked. "Master, you walked here by yourself when you went to sleep last night... and then you lay down on the ground and continued sleeping."
Loran looked grave. He hadn't expected his actions in the dream to have such a direct reflection in reality...
Just then, Loran noticed something unusual; it seemed like he had a foreign object in his hand.
He opened his palm and saw something on his hand. His pupils contracted slightly; it was the ring he had found.
But wasn't the ring with the village chief? How did it end up back in his hands?
"Brian, did anyone enter our house last night?" Lorraine asked.
Brian shook his head. "No! I've been diligently guarding the house. I'm sure no one has come in!"
Loran took a deep breath and opened the adventure manual.
"Manual, what's so special about this ring?"
"Survival Guide: Should I spend 5 Adventure Points?"
"yes."
"Survival Guide: This ring is tainted with an extremely faint, almost imperceptible aura from the 'God of Dreams'."
"God of Dreams? Which great god is this?" Loran recalled the Death God's Shadow talent he had unlocked last time. If there is a Death God, then there must be other gods.
Therefore, the existence of this God of Dreams did not surprise Loran at all.
So the dream Loran entered last night was the work of this god?
Loran put these questions out of his mind; there was no point in thinking about them. All he could do was face each day with seriousness.
Loran glanced at the ring in her hand, snorted coldly, and tossed it back into the room. Why were things happening to her lately so strange...?
"Hi! Good morning!" Lin Wen was admiring the sunlight in the corridor when he saw Luo Lan and happily shared, "Look at the sunlight in Luo Lin Village over here, it's so bright! Perhaps this is the meaning of adventure—every adventure allows you to appreciate different scenery!"
"Yes, that's the meaning of adventure," Loran remarked. "Linwen, did you have any strange dreams last night?"
Lin Wen shook her head. "No, why are you suddenly asking this? Did you... dream about that pretty girl from the Blade of Excellence? Hey, tell me, what interesting things did you dream about!"
"Uh, no... Also, why is your thought process so peculiar?" Loran retorted.
"Tch, boring." Lin Wen pouted and continued to admire the morning sunlight.
After Noah and Finita got up, Loran asked them about their experiences, only to find that neither of them had any unusual dreams last night, except for Loran himself.
This explains why he entered that magical dream – it was because of that ring.
Everyone packed their luggage; today was the day they would return home.
Loran went to check on the villagers one last time, and found something different: the villagers had actually returned to normal.
Only one villager remained in that dazed state.
When they asked other villagers who had recovered what had happened, they had no idea, as if they had lost their memory.
Chatter and the village chief were also puzzled. This matter was clearly beyond their comprehension, so they had no choice but to leave it to the Adventurers' Guild to handle.
Fortunately, once things return to normal, they can perform basic labor, which means they can support themselves with their own hands.
As for the villager who was still somewhat mentally unstable, they could only hope that some kind-hearted person would be willing to help this incapacitated fellow.
"Village chief, we're leaving!"
"Thank you for everything you've done, brave adventurers!" The village chief waved goodbye to the group at the village entrance.
Loran and his companions embarked on their journey home.
The journey home was relatively smooth, without any danger. They only encountered a cow lying asleep in the middle of the road, which Loran and the others chased away, and then there were no further obstacles.
As Loran sat in the carriage, he suddenly felt something was amiss. He abruptly opened his hand, his eyes narrowing slightly. The ring was back.
......
Rockfall Town, Adventurers' Guild.
Lin Wen happily submitted the mission assignment to the group, and the mission was completed very well.
Not only did they wipe out the goblin camp and kill the strong goblins, but they also rescued innocent villagers. These are all bonuses on the adventure and can enhance the adventurer's performance.
The goblin ear loot and the village chief's notes will serve as evidence to support this fact.
The original reward for the mission was 150 silver coins, but after calculation and considering the information about the goblin ears, it was decided to give Loran and his companions a reward of 200 silver coins.
Lin Wen took out 30% of this reward, which was 60 silver coins, to reimburse the travel expenses and pay for food and drink in Luolin Village. He then kept the money for the next reimbursement.
Next, we need to report the equipment damage to the team members. Noah's plate armor has some damage, with some dents clearly visible on the top. Loran also lost two arrows during the process, as well as the powder that Finita used for her magic trick.
The estimated total cost is 10 silver coins. The team will settle the repair costs and then ask Lin Wen for reimbursement. If it exceeds that, the difference will be made up during the next operation.
In the end, everyone split 130 silver coins equally, with each person receiving an average of 32 silver coins. Brian received an extra 2 silver coins.
"I feel... I haven't been of much help to everyone this time, and I feel a little guilty about accepting these 32 silver coins. I... I'm willing to share some with you!" Finita said somewhat awkwardly after distributing the coins.
In her opinion, apart from assisting Loran in using fire arrows, she hadn't played a significant role in the battle, so it felt unfair that she received only 32 silver coins.
