Archer's Adventure Manual

Chapter 066: Teammates

Ronnie's tailor shop was filled with people, mostly townspeople waiting to have their clothes repaired. Ronnie worked diligently, but her mind was elsewhere.

It's impossible not to worry about Finita's safety.

But the next second, she saw that familiar figure with red hair in the distance at the street corner, and the weight that had been hanging over her heart finally lifted a little.

Finita happily entered the tailor shop, eager to tell Ronnie some stories about her adventures, but Ronnie remained expressionless, calmly greeting customers as if she hadn't paid any attention to her at all.

Finita felt a pang of sadness. She understood her sister's feelings; her sister must be incredibly disappointed...

She dragged her backpack and silently returned to her room. After tidying herself up a bit, she came out to help Ronnie with her chores, and Ronnie didn't say anything about it.

They worked until evening, when the tailor shop closed. Ronnie cut off a few slices of bread, placed them on the table, and looked at Finita, saying, "Eat."

Finita picked up a slice of bread, dipped it in some jam, and looked at Ronnie cautiously, tentatively saying, "Sister... I... I succeeded in my adventure."

"It's good that you're back," Ronnie replied casually.

Then the two fell silent for a while.

After a long while, Ronnie's voice rang out again.

"My mother once told me to take good care of you, so I've always been determined to protect you, believing you're just a child who doesn't know how to take care of yourself..."

"Finita, I've thought a lot since you left. I think you've grown up. Perhaps I should respect your choice. We shouldn't dwell on the past. Taking risks can indeed help people grow up faster."

Ronnie looked at Finita with a relieved smile.

Finita was already frozen in place, her voice trembling slightly, "Sister..."

"Finita, no matter what you do, you will always be my sister, and this place will always be your safe haven."

Under the flickering candlelight, the two embraced and wept.

......

Noah found a blacksmith shop he frequented and went inside to have his greatsword and plate armor serviced.

"It seems like it was a smooth trip. Your plate armor doesn't look badly damaged," the blacksmith said with a smile as he examined Noah's plate armor.

"Yes, that's all thanks to my trustworthy teammates." Noah smiled slightly.

After maintaining his equipment, Noah went to the tavern and met up with several people, all of whom were his relatives.

"Noah, I'm so proud of you! You're an excellent adventurer who can use your power to drive away those disgusting monsters and protect our town!" Noah's uncle took a sip of ale, his face beaming with pride.

Noah chuckled and shook his head. "They're all tough, adventurous jobs, nothing glamorous about them. The money we earn is all hard-earned."

Another woman replied, "Well, at least we have some confidence now. Farmers and technicians like us can only live at the mercy of those nobles. They always try to keep us in a state of being neither full nor starving, squeezing every last drop of value out of us."

"But Noah, you're different. You can completely escape this abyss. You have the strength to back you up, and the Adventurers' Guild will also support you!"

Noah's uncle interrupted his wife, "Hey, you old woman, Noah finally wants to chat with us, and you keep bringing up these unpleasant things."

"Hey, you were the one who started this conversation!"

"Hey, don't talk nonsense. When did I start anything?"

Noah looked at the two people in front of him and smiled helplessly. "Uncle and Aunt, I am very happy now. I will always remember your kindness in raising me over the years. I will not let you live a hard life."

After saying that, Noah pushed an envelope over.

Uncle Noah, of course, knew what was inside and quickly pushed it back, saying, "We're doing just fine, we don't need you to support us! You should focus more on your equipment; compared to nobles, those monsters outside really do eat people!"

……

On the other side, Lin Wen was in a small forest ravine on the edge of Luoyan Town. She was staring blankly at a mound of earth.

This mound of earth is where her adoptive father is buried.

Lin Wen had no idea who her biological parents were; she had spent her entire childhood wandering.

Stealing black bread from stalls and searching for edible food in garbage dumps are choices forced upon Xiao Linwen by life.

Even so, she couldn't survive the harsh winter. Xiao Linwen had to hide in the alleys of the small town, using tattered cloth to keep her body warm.

The story takes a turn when a drunkard accidentally discovers Xiao Linwen and, unable to bear seeing him freeze to death in the snow, takes him back to his tavern.

Lin Wen's adoptive father runs a tavern and is quite well-off, so supporting a little girl is no problem for him.

Surprisingly, the tavern owner, who was considered despicable by other adventurers, was exceptionally kind to Linwen, saving all the best food and drinks for her. If anyone in the tavern dared to cause trouble for Linwen, the owner would kick them out!

Xiao Linwen thus began to explore this tavern filled with all sorts of people.

Before long, the adventurers who came to the tavern all got to know the little girl Lin Wen, and were willing to teach her some wild knowledge about adventure.

Many of her skills came from this period.

It was in this environment that Xiao Linwen became the little devil in the tavern. Whenever someone in the tavern got into a fight, the little devil would step in and resolve the dispute.

So how was this resolved? Of course, it was through force; the little devil just gave the people arguing a good beating.

They're adventurers, after all; they shouldn't be unable to beat a little girl. But these people who got beaten up... damn it, they don't dare to fight back.

They could defeat Lin Wen, that little devil, but they couldn't beat the tavern owner behind her!

要知道酒馆老闆的权势不小,霖温又是他非常疼爱的孩子,这要是揍了小魔头,揍他们的,可就要变成大魔头了。

Therefore, the little devil can use all his strength to beat people, while they can only passively take the beating, and the dispute is easily resolved by Xiao Linwen.

At this time, her adoptive father would always praise Lin Wen for doing a good job, saying that she was his pride.

Sitting beside the mound of earth, Lin Wen thought of those times, and tears welled up in her eyes...

The sunset is infinitely good, just near dusk.

Just when Xiao Linwen thought that life would continue carefree like this, someone came to cause trouble for the tavern.

Xiao Linwen went out to do some simple hunting, and when he returned, he only saw his adoptive father's cold body.

She didn't know exactly what had happened. Her adoptive father's friends helped Lin Wen with the funeral arrangements and sent her to another place to avoid trouble affecting her.

And so, carrying a box of cold ashes, Lin Wen embarked on the same wandering journey as he had in his childhood.

She left the heartbreaking territory of "Plassen" and came to Rockfall.

She knew that her strength was not yet sufficient. She needed to take risks and gain experience until she was strong enough to settle all scores!

Lin Wen stuck a small flower into the mound of earth and muttered to herself:

"Father, I wonder if you are watching over me from the distant stars. I am growing step by step, I have mastered skills and become a true adventurer. I have always believed that I have only one true father, and that is you. Thank you for everything you have done. Good night..."
