Archer's Adventure Manual
Chapter 091: Successful Breakthrough!
Brian kept gnawing at the magical shield with his teeth, but clearly, his dog mouth couldn't do any effective damage. Instead, he was swatted aside and crashed heavily to the ground.
The fall was very heavy, and Brian felt a strong impact on its body.
As Brian lay on the ground, looking at the team in distress, only one thing was on his mind... he had to protect everyone!
But now it has no strength left in its body, just like when it fainted that day. It wants to move, but it can't.
"Damn it, these guys are too tough! We're completely surrounded and can't get out!" Noah roared, feeling weak and his energy waning. He seemed unable to kill these monsters.
The group began to take injuries, and the depletion of their strength meant that their defenses became increasingly difficult. The axe grazed their bodies, leaving behind wounds, and the smell of blood gradually filled the air.
Loran felt utterly cold; was the journey truly about to end here?
"Woof!" Brian gritted his teeth, grimaced as he stood up despite the pain, and stared firmly ahead, a strange power surging through his body.
"I'm going to bite you to death!" Brian accelerated and sprinted, recklessly crashing into the mysterious magical shield!
"boom!"
The next moment, the magical shield that even Noah's Greatsword could not cut through shattered under Brian's impact, revealing a dazzling light!
The texture of the magic shield became extremely unstable and even chaotic the moment Brian struck it, turning into a cloud of purple mist that rose into the air.
That wasn't all. Brian then ran to the next dog-headed forest, and it once again used its head to smash into the magic shield, causing the light to reappear!
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
One by one, the magical shields shattered under Brian's impact!
Everyone covered their eyes slightly, the intense light blinding them. They could only vaguely see Brian's agile figure weaving through the light and shadow, and the magical shields shattered completely as he moved.
"Brian... he actually shattered these guys' shields?!" Lin Wen exclaimed, his mouth agape in disbelief.
They naturally wouldn't let this opportunity pass. Without their magical shield, Doghead Forest was like a lamb to the slaughter for Loran and his companions. Using their remaining strength, they painstakingly killed them!
The pursuers who were about to catch up with Loran and his group were all frightened away after sensing the bright light; clearly, these guys were very afraid of light.
Loran saw that after ramming into the guys' shields, Brian collapsed to the ground, exhausted, as if he had fainted.
Loran quickly picked him up, and then together with the other team members, they rushed towards the edge of the village.
Fortunately, there were no more terrifying monsters blocking their way, and they...really broke through!
Noah glanced back at the village in the distance from time to time. The village was now filled with magical light, as if someone was exchanging magical attacks.
Indeed, there must be mages in the village; perhaps they can handle that terrifying goblin shaman.
It was nighttime, and if they encountered any wild animals, their situation would be equally dangerous.
After ensuring their location was safe, the group decided to climb to the treetops to regroup.
"Healing".
When the healing potion ran out, Finita used magic to treat everyone, but she only had a little bit of flour left, and once she finished the magic, she had no medium left to use it on.
Fortunately, Loran stepped forward and used the Healing spell openly, releasing it directly from his hand without needing any medium.
Noah's horrific injuries have finally healed somewhat, but he still needs follow-up treatment to avoid permanent damage.
The others sustained less severe injuries and were temporarily out of danger after the healing magic was used.
"How is Brian? Something seems to have changed about him just now. He smashed through the monsters' magic shields. He looks...very dangerous?" Lin Wen said with some concern.
Finita quickly added, "Yes, yes, it seems like there's no reaction after using Heal on Brian. Is it internally injured? Should we find some herbs or something?"
Loran smiled slightly as he stroked Brian's heaving belly. "It's alright, Brian is just tired and has fallen asleep for a while. I can feel the rhythmic undulations in his body; he's probably sleeping soundly."
"Okay, but we still need to observe carefully!"
Loran, however, was not worried at all. This dog probably wouldn't be crushed even by a tank, let alone smash through a few small shields.
However, he was increasingly curious about Brian's special abilities. If his guess was correct, Brian should have mastered the power of runes, but Loran knew nothing about the study of runes.
After all, that old man Thompson had been researching for so many years without getting any results, so how could an outsider like him understand?
However, I could ask the Adventure Handbook if it knows anything about these things later...
Finita recalled Loran's actions just now. In fact, she had wanted to ask him about it before, but due to the urgency of the situation, she did not have the opportunity. But now she had to seize this opportunity!
"Lorraine, how... how did you do that? I started learning magic a long time ago, but I always have to rely on a medium to cast spells. In fact, many people do it that way. How did you manage to cast spells without needing a medium?" Finita asked curiously.
Clearly, this young girl, who had just mastered magic, was very interested in more advanced spellcasting methods.
Loran shook his head. "I don't know how I managed to do that either. I learned magic tricks using a medium, but one time I had a sudden inspiration and decided not to use a medium."
"In the end, it worked. But I didn't have any extra thoughts in my mind. I just wanted to release it naturally, and then it happened. But if you asked me to describe how to achieve this process, I don't think I could..."
Loran mumbled a few words. He had learned this from the adventure manual. Even if he didn't understand the principles behind it, it was definitely in accordance with the rules of this world and wasn't too outlandish.
Finita seemed thoughtful. "Indeed, even if everyone knows the process of Napoleon's thoughtless sword strike, how many people can actually achieve that thoughtlessness? I still have a lot to learn!"
"Finita, you were amazing! We owe you so much this time. You cast the spell at the crucial moment. Wow, let me tell you, that Flash spell was so cool!" Lin Wen said excitedly from the treetop.
"Yes, Finita, to calmly break through your own limitations in such a difficult situation is something I don't think I could have handled with such composure under pressure. That spirit is truly amazing!" Noah also praised.
Finita blushed, feeling a little embarrassed, and became shy again.
