Archer's Adventure Manual

Chapter 131: The Death of Carlos

The monsters had the upper hand in both strength and numbers, making Loran and his companions' defeat almost inevitable.

Although the recovery and mental potions provided some restoration, they would eventually run out, not to mention that Noah, who was fighting Carlos, had almost no chance to adjust and recover.

Noah's once brand-new armor was now riddled with battle scars, blood constantly seeping from his wounds, and his condition was rapidly deteriorating.

Jasper, on the other hand, became more energetic by devouring flesh and blood, all his wounds healed, and even his aura became stronger.

Carlos looked down at the group with an arrogant expression. "I really don't understand you guys. You can't beat them, so why do you keep struggling? Maybe giving up would have saved you some suffering."

Loran reached into his quiver and realized he was almost out of arrows... He hadn't expected that even with so many arrows prepared, he was still short...

Trying to recover arrows from the battlefield for reuse would be an extremely unwise choice.

Loran looked at Carlos. This guy was too strong. Noah couldn't defeat him. He had to deal with him first before he could have a chance to break out!

"Thompman, Juno, let's go and meet up with them!" Lorraine used his last arrows to break through the enemy lines and reach Noah Linwen's side.

Carlos continued to launch attacks, and Noah was already struggling to hold on.

Ahead surged waves of wolf-headed monsters. Loran drew his arrow, and it pierced through them! The arrow also infused the attack with the wind elemental crystal he had just acquired.

Loran seized the opportunity and charged toward Carlos, and a scythe emanating black energy materialized in his hand at some unknown time!

He's run out of arrows, so let him deliver one last blow!

Carlos, who was fighting, noticed Loran rushing over. He just snorted and tried to swat the arrogant human away with a flick of his tail.

Loran leaped away from the rather perfunctory attack, and then threw a Flash spell that exploded in front of him!

This magic was so sudden and unexpected; Carlos never expected that this human could use magic!

After being briefly blinded, Carlos naturally exposed a significant opening, allowing Loran to raise his scythe and slash fiercely at Carlos's back!

Carlo, who was very confident in his scales, did not intend to dodge after being blinded. He chose to ignore it and directly withstand Loran's attack.

But this confident choice brought him catastrophic harm.

Carlos's mind went blank; his consciousness seemed to have entered a hollow, lifeless ocean, where stillness filled the entire space.

"What...what's going on? Why am I here?!" Carlos seemed somewhat panicked, as everything he was encountering was beyond his comprehension.

Then he saw Loran's phantom appear before him, and next to Loran, there was another Loran standing.

This was also Loran's first time in this space. He found himself holding a scythe, and Carlos's consciousness was right in front of him.

Loran swung his scythe, and out of the corner of his eye, he noticed something was wrong. There was another Loran right next to him, who looked exactly like him, but exuded a wooden aura, like a robot.

"You! It's you! Where is this? Get me out of here, or I'll make you regret it!" Carlos roared as he charged toward Loran's consciousness.

Loran could clearly sense the weakness of Carlos's consciousness. He understood that the guy in front of him had far less mental strength than him!

This guy may be unmatched in terms of muscle talent, but he's a complete novice when it comes to mental strength, which makes things easier for Loran.

Loran charged toward Carlos's consciousness, swung his scythe, and slashed it fiercely at Carlos's body, creating a huge wound on his consciousness.

Carlos, perhaps already accustomed to the defense provided by his powerful physique, seemed somewhat bewildered after experiencing excruciating pain.

Just then, the taciturn Loran also moved. He imitated Loran and attacked Carlos, but instead of using a scythe, he used a bow and arrow!

The arrow pierced Carlos's consciousness in the leg, drastically reducing his mobility.

Loran gave the dull Loran a meaningful look, then used his scythe to kill the immobile Carlos!

The next moment, Loran's consciousness returned to reality. He felt a powerful spiritual force surge into his mind. The Grim Reaper's Scythe would absorb the spiritual power of a soul after it was killed.

Clearly, he is currently in a state of absorbing power.

Noah stared blankly at Carlos, who was frozen in place, and swung his greatsword and thrust it fiercely towards Carlos's abdomen!

As a result, this guy was pushed straight to the ground like a doll, his body seemingly out of control, limp and motionless, easily defeated.

"What...what happened to this guy?" Noah asked incredulously. "Could it be...that your Flash spell, Loran, blew his soul away? This...this is unbelievable!"

Loran rubbed his aching forehead. "Maybe so. Let's hurry and leave while this guy's down!"

Without saying much, the group quickly broke through the encirclement.

Jasper, who was not far away, was also dumbfounded when he saw this scene. Watching Loran and the others gradually break out towards the outside, he did not go forward to pursue them, but instead came to Carlos's side to check on him.

"Hey, Carlos, what are you doing? I don't know what your intention is in pretending to be defeated, but those guys are running away, aren't you really going to chase after them?" Jasper patted Carlos's face, trying to wake him up.

In his view, Carlos, with his incredibly strong physique, had no chance of losing to this insignificant adventurer, let alone dying.

There's only one possibility for its collapse—it was acting.

Although I don't know his intentions, now that most of the people have left, I should be able to tell him about the plan.

"Carlos, get up. Tell me what your plan is. Tell me." Jasper shook Carlos again, and finally slapped him a few times.

He suspected that those guys might have used some special method to stun Carlos, so Jasper used his spiritual vision to briefly check Carlos's condition.

But a shocking fact was discovered: Carlos... seemed to have lost vital signs?

No, but how is that possible?

"No...this is impossible! How could a powerful body of flesh and blood be killed by a weak human? What a joke! Especially in such a short time, when there wasn't a single sign of injury on your body!"

Jasper looked at Carlos's thick scales, which only showed some signs of friction and could not possibly have damaged his internal organs.

But... that's how it died.
