Archer's Adventure Manual
Chapter 143: Criterion
In a dream.
Loran arrived at Plasson's magic academy. There were guards at the entrance, and anyone who wasn't from the magic academy would probably be turned away.
However, Loran was different. He simply swaggered in, completely ignoring the guards on both sides.
The guard, seeing Loran, this small boy, walk straight in, widened his eyes and stopped him. "Hey, kid, this is a magic academy; not just anyone can walk in!"
Loran glared at him. "Get out of my way! Are you blind? If you don't let me in, I'm coming to find my father!"
The guards' hearts sank. Oh no! Such an arrogant and domineering attitude—this must be the rebellious brat of some academy instructor!
Furthermore, the child mentioned his father, which probably confirms the guess!
"Um, little one, don't be in such a hurry. May I ask who your father is?"
However, before the guard could finish speaking, Loran stormed in, completely ignoring the guard.
The two guards stared at each other, somewhat at a loss.
"Should we...should we stop him?"
"Forget it, it's just a kid, there shouldn't be any big problem. If his father were a big shot, we might not even have the chance to stand guard here."
"That's true..."
Because of class differences, ordinary people rarely leave their neighborhoods, and the guards can only see upper-class people.
The kid who was able to get here must have some kind of background; the guards didn't even consider the possibility that Loran might be an ordinary child.
After all, if one is not a nobleman, shouldn't one be playing in the mud in the fields at this time of year?
They naturally didn't take the matter to heart and continued to stand guard as if nothing had happened.
And so, Loran successfully infiltrated the magic academy.
Lorraine recalled the names of some people who had shared similar views with Thompson, and then wandered around the college, asking students for information.
They eventually found out the location of these people.
In the magnificent magic academy, there is a long corridor with many philosophical and artistic paintings hanging on both sides, which are extremely elegant.
"Knock knock knock".
"Come in." Scholar Krito was organizing documents in his office when he heard the knock and assumed it was a student visiting.
"Creak." The wooden door opened.
Kleeto, sitting at his desk, looked at the open wooden door but saw no students. He couldn't help but rub his eyes.
Could it be... a ghost that can't be seen in legends? But it's not daytime now, how could there be a ghost?
"Hello, Mr. Clito!"
A slightly childish voice reached Krito's ears. He tried to pinpoint the source of the voice, then stood up and looked down. "Y-you...hello, little friend, who are you?"
"Professor Krito! I often attend your classes at the academy, and I find them particularly interesting! So, I'd like to ask you for some advice privately," Loran said expectantly.
Krito paused, thought for a moment, and felt something was off. He asked, puzzled, "But... I don't remember seeing you in my class, little one."
"Of course, I can't sit in on classes, so I always listen quietly by the window. Of course you didn't notice me!" Loran revealed a hint of pride.
Krito was moved; he hadn't expected the reason behind it to be like this... and for a moment he didn't know what to say.
Setting aside his turbulent thoughts, Krito came to his senses and looked earnestly at Loran. "I never expected you to be so eager to learn at such a young age. It's truly a rare and admirable spirit. Whatever you'd like to ask me, I can answer it for you!"
Krito had no doubt about the truth of Lorraine's words; he simply didn't want to doubt such a diligent and studious child.
Even if it's fake, it still comes with a spirit of seeking knowledge, so how could he not impart knowledge to it?
Loran pointed to the bookshelf in the office. "Professor Krito, may I look at a few books? The knowledge I want to ask is in the books."
"Yes, of course, no problem."
Lorraine tiptoed to reach the books on the shelf and began to browse through them.
Krito also became interested, because he found the books Loran had acquired to be quite intriguing; they weren't books about magic or spiritual matters... but rather—runes.
The topic of runes, which is not of great value, is still being studied by only a few teachers in the academy, and these studies are all just for personal interest.
There are very few courses on this topic, and Krito is considered one of the teachers who likes to mention runes in class.
He really didn't expect that the question this child came to ask him was about runes... This was truly unbelievable.
Soon, Loran found several questions in the book. These were not random questions, but rather questions that Loran had come up with through his conversations with Thompson and were very worthy of discussion.
Such questions not only sparked Klitschko's interest but also indirectly demonstrated his dedication to learning.
As Loran had expected, his question completely captivated Klitschko; he couldn't believe such a question came from a child.
In particular, knowledge about runes is a relatively niche hobby of his, Krito's. If he were to teach this kind of content in a regular class, some students might fall asleep during the lesson!
But now, a studious young man had approached him and, after careful consideration, offered insights from his area of expertise! And these insights were remarkably insightful! How could he not be thrilled!
"This question, little one, wait a moment while I look up some information to ensure its accuracy!" Critto said seriously.
Loran was very patient, replying, "Mmm!"
Krito then began researching and helping Loran solve the problems he had raised.
To be honest, this was the first time Critto had encountered such a problem. Even though he knew a lot, it would still take him some effort.
Furthermore, during the explanation process, Loran would occasionally throw out a key and useful piece of knowledge, which surprised Klitsch even more.
People can act, but knowledge cannot. This little guy in front of me knows so much knowledge, it's definitely not something he can fake.
Clito became even more engrossed.
Even when students visited Clitto during this time, he politely declined and delayed their visits, much to the surprise of many students.
Professor Clito is actually discussing academic issues with a young man!
The students couldn't help but recall the rumors circulating in the academy that their teacher, Krito, had some mental issues. Sure enough, all the teachers who taught runes had some problems with their heads!
