I can evolve everything

Chapter 126 Parting

This choice made him fall into deep thought.

The tearing effect is tempting, greatly enhancing his lethality. But the side effects are equally deadly. The weapon becomes brittle, meaning he may face the risk of it breaking during hand-to-hand combat.

Being influenced by bloodlust is even more of a taboo.

Ryan shook his head, rejecting that option. What he needed was a reliable weapon.

He gritted his teeth and refreshed the page a second time.

[Evolutionary Branch: Guardian Greatsword (Other)]

[Description: The sword's material has been reconstructed to store and conduct impact. Each successful parry accumulates some impact force, which is released in the next swing, dealing additional damage. There is a limit to the amount of force that can be stored, and it slowly dissipates over time.]

perfect.

This mark was practically tailor-made for him.

His core fighting style is the defensive "Iron Wall Stance" and the defensive counterattack of "Half-Step Collapse Sword".

This evolutionary branch allows him to transform every attack he receives into the power for his next attack. The more intense the enemy's attack, the more lethal his counterattack will be.

"evolution!

'

'

He issued the order without hesitation.

The yellowish-brown mark settled and was deeply imprinted on the sword.

"Evolution begins."

After doing all this, Renn felt that a little more of his energy had been drained.

The repeated refreshes and simultaneous evolutions made Renn feel inexplicably hungry.

He got up, groped his way to the table, grabbed a piece of jerky, stuffed it into his mouth, and swallowed it whole without even chewing.

The jerky slid down his throat, making him a little more awake.

Afterwards, Ryan lay back down on the bed and fell into a deep sleep.

And so, another month passed.

Spring arrives in the North silently and without any sincerity.

Spring had been over for nearly two months in the Kingdom Calendar, and the snow on the northern fortress was only beginning to melt slowly.

The icicles fell from the eaves, smashed on the muddy ground, and shattered.

The soldiers changed into lighter clothing, and their expressions relaxed a bit; at least they no longer had the tense, frozen faces they had in winter.

On the training field, the snow slowly melted, turning into specks of mud and water.

"Your movements have slowed down, Ryan."

A sound accompanied by the whooshing of wind rang out as Ella darted around Renn, her longsword aimed straight for his ribs. Her speed was far greater than when Renn sparred with her two or three months ago; she had mastered the Wind Whisperer's Breathing Technique.

The progress seems to be quite rapid.

Raine didn't speak, he didn't even move a step. He simply twisted his waist slightly, and his two-handed greatsword sank downwards, striking with a downward thrust.

"clang!"

A loud clang of swords clashing rang out.

Ella felt a shock coming from the sword, which made her hands go numb and her entire arm stiffen.

As Raine's own strength increased and he gradually adapted to the weapon, Ella's attacks, though swift, lacked sufficient threat to him.

Using the recoil as leverage, she drifted backward, creating distance, somewhat resentful.

"You're like a tin can now," she complained, shaking her slightly numb wrist.

Ryan looked at her and said calmly, "You seem to be much faster."

"Hmph, one day, my sword will be so fast that you won't even be able to react," Ella retorted defiantly. But she knew that she was becoming less and less effective against the absolute strength and defense of someone like Renn.

She took a deep breath, feeling as if a gentle breeze was surrounding her.

"I'm almost done with my breathing technique," she murmured to herself, her voice brimming with anticipation.

Just then, footsteps came from the edge of the training field.

"It seems neither of you has been slacking off."

Sir Karen had been standing there for some time now, his gaze sweeping over the two of them before finally settling on Ella.

"The wind flow is already quite stable, Ella. All that's left is to keep working hard, and the mastery of the Wind Whisperer's Breathing Technique will naturally follow." He nodded in affirmation.

"It's time to leave," Karen continued, dropping a bombshell.

Ella's eyes lit up: "Leave? Where to?"

"The Royal City," Karen said calmly, "your apprenticeship has been long enough, the battles you've experienced far exceed those of ordinary apprentice knights, and most importantly, your breathing techniques are essentially complete. It's time to complete the final promotion ceremony and become a true knight."

A true knight.

These four words made Ella's breathing quicken.

And Renn's heart stirred slightly.

Becoming a full knight means more rights, more resources, and the qualification to access higher levels of breathing techniques.

"Go pack your things." Karen's order was as concise as ever: "We're leaving in three days. Before that, go and say goodbye to the people you've met here."

After saying this, the old knight turned and left, not giving them any time to ask questions.

That night, in a tavern in the Grey Zone of the Northern Fortress.

This is the only relatively lively tavern in the Northern Fortress, even in the desolate early spring.

The tavern was filled with the complex aromas of ale and roasted meat.

But this mixed smell made the soldiers here feel at ease.

Ryan and Warren sat at a wooden table with two wooden cups filled with ale on it.

"Are you really leaving?" Valen took a big gulp of wine, wiped his mouth hard, and his voice was a little slurred.

"Go to the district to be promoted to a full knight," Rein replied.

"The royal city—that's no good place." Valen curled his lip. "I went there with the captain a few years ago to try and get promoted to a full knight. The nobles there speak in riddles and the air is filled with the smell of all sorts of spices, which gives you a headache."

He paused, then looked at Raine, his gaze turning serious: "However, you're different from us. It's a real shame for someone like you to stay in the North."

He still remembers the image of Renn rushing into the beast tide on the Black Pine Forest city wall.

"You saved my life, Ryan." Warren raised his glass. "This is a toast to you."

Raine didn't say anything, but silently raised his glass, clinked it with his, and then drank the ale in one gulp.

"When you get to the capital, don't get scammed," Valen whispered, leaning closer. "The women in the south are all like vixens, sweet-talking but cunning. Don't let them take all your money."

Looking at Valen's knowing expression, Ryan couldn't help but smile.

The two didn't say anything more, just silently drank their wine.
