Chapter 7 The Power of Magic

Chapter 7 The Power of Magic

Let's go back to before the bolt was broken.

Richard stepped out of the observation cabin and immediately spotted the leader of the Black Bear Gang ramming the door.

The leader, named Reilly, was the son of a gang leader in the Bauhinia Territory of the Golden Flower Kingdom before being chosen as a prospective apprentice.

Reilly was born with a strong physique and a unique physical advantage, which allowed him to become a knight's squire at the age of twelve and to become a knight at the age of fifteen.

If he continues training like this, Reilly will become a full-fledged knight in less than five years. If he trains for another ten years or so, he could very well become a high-ranking knight in his thirties.

A high-ranking knight of this age would be considered a genius even in the Kingdom of Golden Flower.

The king will then bestow a title upon him, and nobles eager to marry into the family will throng the Reilly family's carpets.

However, Reilly was chosen.

The will of a wizard cannot be defied. Even if Reilly were a prince, he would still have to obediently become a wizard's apprentice, let alone be the son of a mafia boss.

Reilly's father felt sorry for him, but he himself didn't think so.

A fire ignited in his heart when he saw the king and a group of nobles bowing and scraping before the wizard during the testing ceremony.

A flame called ambition.

He wanted to become a wizard and wield that extraordinary power.

Once aboard the airship, Reilly, as the son of a gangster, quickly discovered that the wizard didn't care what he did, only whether the apprentice could survive until the exam.

Once he had determined this, he quickly gathered a group of followers and began his brutal reign.

What he sets his sights on will come to him, and the person he sets his sights on will come to his bed.

Many nobles were disgusted by his behavior, but not a single one of them came forward to stop him.

Besides the fact that Reilly didn't provoke the nobles, the most important reason was that Reilly was a knight's squire.

No nobleman would risk a conflict with a knight's squire for the sake of a commoner.

……

boom!

boom!

Reilly grinned and slammed his fist on the door. He hadn't seen the woman inside yet; he guessed she was still a virgin.

The thought of bursting through the door and enjoying such a delicious dessert made his blood boil.

But as he continued to bump into things, a figure suddenly appeared in his peripheral vision.

The man looked rather thin and short, with a handsome yet somewhat frail face beneath his black hair.

Gurgle.

Ridley suddenly stopped the impact.

"You few, come and ram it," he turned and ordered his henchmen.

As Richard looked at Reilly, who had suddenly stopped, a chill ran down his spine.

It seems something disgusting is about to happen.

"Little beauty, were you in the last batch to come up?"

Reilly looked at Richard with salty eyes, his scarlet tongue unconsciously licking his lips.

He is not only a womanizer, but also bisexual.

Richard was exactly to his liking.

Richard looked back, but there was no one there.

It seems that he was indeed the one being talked about.

Then there's nothing more to say.

Richard turned his head blankly, his face grim.

A surge of anger mixed with nausea welled up in his heart.

"die!"

Richard indifferently raised his hand, his magic power gathering at his fingertips, transforming into a dark blue light that shot out and struck Reilly in the chest like a meteor.

Zero-ring spell: Magic Missile

In an instant, Reilly felt as if he had been struck in the chest with a warhammer by a full-fledged knight, and he was sent flying backward, his expression a mixture of pain and rage.

"Wizard! Wizard!"

The henchmen next to him were frightened by this scene and hurriedly backed away, but Richard was not about to let them get away with it.

"You're the same!"

Richard's face was cold as streaks of eerie blue light flew from his fingertips, landing precisely on the henchmen.

These henchmen were not as strong as Reilly, so they naturally couldn't dodge the missiles and fell to the ground one by one, groaning incessantly.

Fortunately, Richard was not blinded by anger; he aimed the missiles at the legs of the henchmen.

As long as no one dies, everything is fine.

Richard stepped forward slowly, the blue light at his fingertips faintly visible.

At this moment, Richard was like a judge from hell walking among humans, about to use his dark blue missile to judge the sins of the world.

One step, two steps, three steps.

Finally, Reilly, who had been thrown backward, stopped pretending to be dead and scrambled to the other end of the airship.

"Wizard! My lord wizard! Someone wants..."

Before he could finish speaking, a magic missile landed between his legs.

In an instant, it sounded as if an egg was breaking in the air.

Under such intense pain, Reilly's eyes rolled back, and he instantly fainted.

But Richard was still somewhat unsatisfied; the nauseating feeling, as if he had swallowed a fly, lingered in his mind.

So he quickly walked up to him and stomped on Reilly's feet twice with his shoes.

"You damn gay bastard, you rammed into my room, bullied my roommate, and you even dared to make a move on me..."

"Richard!"

Richard turned around and saw Ellie staring blankly at him.

"Oh, Ellie, are you alright?"

Richard greeted him casually, then wiped the blood from the soles of his shoes on Reilly.

"You did all of this?"

Ellie looked at everything before her eyes; the wicked Ridley had actually been defeated.

All of this was thanks to Richard, who had been with him these past few days.

A sense of absurdity washed over Ellie, making her feel as if she were in a dream.

When did he create the magic flow?

The wizard who was inspecting the airship arrived late. Meanwhile, the nobles in the observation cabin were also attracted by the screams of the Black Bear Gang's henchmen and came out to see what was going on.

"My God, that lowly commoner actually defeated Reilly."

"Relinder is a knight's squire; he's a formidable figure even among us!"

"This lowly commoner has magical artifacts? But even if you have magical artifacts, you can't use them without magic stones."

"Has he already established a magical flow and become a formal wizard apprentice?"

"How is this possible! How could a lowly commoner be so fast!"

Richard heard the whispers of the nobles, and setting aside the belittling and shock, the magical artifact powered by the magic stone immediately caught his attention.

Magical items? Richard secretly noted it down. This information might be related to his safety in the entrance exam, and he had to treat it with caution.

Not long after, a wizard appeared from the other end of the airship, arriving late to the scene.

This is a witch, who looks to be about thirty years old. She has an ordinary appearance and no physical abnormalities... except that both of her palms have mouths full of sharp teeth.

After examining them for a while, the wizard threw them back to where they were and walked straight up to Richard.

"I am Biliana. Who did this?"

Ellie, who was standing nearby, saw this and immediately tried to defend Richard:

"My lord wizard, these people tried to force their way into the room, so..."

But Richard interrupted her before she could finish speaking.

"My lord wizard, I don't know who did this. They were already lying here when I arrived."

Richard looked at Biliana calmly and said, as if the injuries of these people really had nothing to do with him.

Biliana gave him a deep look, a slight smile playing on her lips.

"Very good, it seems a kind ghost has taken care of these little rascals for me. But it went a bit too far; it'll probably be punished if it gets caught."

After saying that, Biliana patted Richard and used levitation to control the people on the ground to leave the scene.

Ellie stood by, dumbfounded, watching all of this.

"Richard, how dare you..."

Ellie clutched her chest; she could feel her heart pounding.

To deceive a wizard is an act of utter audacity. And Richard not only did it, but he did it so clumsily.

But why would a wizard believe it?

Ellie's mind went completely blank for a moment, and she only came to her senses when Richard pulled her into the room.

"Richard, what just happened?"

Richard sat on the stool, a glint of wisdom flashing in his eyes.

"Ellie, these are the wizards' rules of the game. On this airship, the wizards' rules are insurmountable red lines for us, but for the wizards, they might just be rules casually set up by a few people over a meal."

Although I broke the rules just now, the wizard Biliana who came to check thought I did a good job.

She didn't want to punish me.

That's why she asked that question.

Ellie murmured, "Who did all this? She couldn't possibly not know who did it, but since the rules are worthless to her, why is she even asking?"

Richard smiled, a hint of self-deprecation flashing across his face.

"Because there wasn't just one wizard on the airship, she needed a reason to give the other wizards an explanation."

Even if that reason is absurd.

To a wizard, a severely wounded apprentice deserves only one absurd reason.
