For wizarding apprentices at the Black Tower Wizarding Academy, the beginning of the month is a special time.

At the beginning of the month, all the apprentices who wanted to go out on missions would crowd in front of Anna's hut, waiting for the next batch of Focus Potions to be sold.

Since Richard got rid of Joseph, the entire business district's potion business has become Richard's sole possession.

Monopolies are always the most profitable business.

As the eight o'clock bell rang in the morning, Anna's Cottage officially opened for business.

The shop assistant opened the door and began selling this month's focus potion.

"Don't push, don't push! The concentration potion supply has doubled this month, and everyone is guaranteed a share if we come today!"

The shop assistant's shouts weren't loud, but to the apprentices they were like a thunderclap.

The production of potions has doubled, which is fantastic news.

The potions sold out quickly. For the tens of thousands of students in the academy, 180 bottles of Concentration Potion a month was still a bit too few.

After the sale ended, news of the increased potion production quickly spread among the apprentices through various channels, including many alchemy students.

Some of these apprentices had mentors, so the news naturally reached the wizard's ears.

……

The ninety-ninth floor of the central black tower.

Vice Dean Alex, frowning, stormed into Jorod's laboratory.

"Jorod, you used the alchemy workshop to subsidize your apprentices? It's against the rules for wizards to directly help their apprentices earn magic stones."

Jorod was somewhat confused.

"What? When did I use the alchemy workshop to help my apprentices? My alchemy workshop is entirely my own business."

Alex handed him a page of paper, which Joe Lord took and saw was filled with Richard's shipping records for the past few months.

"Two hundred bottles of potions a month, even you would have to put in a lot of effort to achieve that number." Alex banged on the table. "This matter hasn't spread yet, and I hope you can come up with an explanation as soon as possible."

Otherwise, I'll have no choice but to handle it according to school rules.

While the Black Tower Wizarding Academy allows wizards to impart knowledge to their apprentices, it does not permit them to directly gift large amounts of magic stones or specially craft high-level magic equipment to their apprentices—actions that are seen as severely impacting the apprentices' competitiveness.

If such a thing happens, not only will the students be investigated and all the gifts they received be confiscated, but even the wizards will have to pay a considerable price.

Joe Rodgers stroked his beard, his face showing only confusion and no panic.

"What explanation can I offer? I didn't help him. If you don't believe me, you can check at my alchemy workshop. I'll give you that authorization."

The alchemy workshop is considered George R.R.'s private property, and the Academy generally does not search it arbitrarily.

"You really don't?" Alex asked suspiciously. "If other wizards find out the truth, even you will have to follow the rules."

"My dear Vice Dean, feel free to investigate. Whatever you find, I, Jord, am at your disposal."

"Fine, that's good. Inspectors will be searching your workshop in the next couple of days." Alex stood up. "I need to give the other wizards an explanation for this. Without rules, the academy will be in chaos."

Joe Rode nodded, indicating that he understood the difficulties faced by the vice dean. After seeing him off, Joe Rode immediately called Richard to the laboratory.

"Richard, you've given me a real job."

Jorod handed Alex's statistics sheet to Richard.

"Two hundred bottles of Concentration Potion a month, even I would have to put in a lot of effort to produce that quantity. The vice dean just spoke to me; he wants an explanation."

Jorod shrugged. "But what explanation do I have?"

Li looked at the data on the statistics sheet, which detailed who each of his bottles of medicine was sold to, and marked the approximate purchase time and channel.

Richard scratched his head, showing no sign of panic.

"As expected, it has attracted the attention of the academy."

"Oh?" George feigned surprise. "It seems my student was well-prepared."

Richard nodded and then took out a contract.

"Before I give you this explanation, to protect a wizard's knowledge, I would like you to sign this thing."

Joe Rodgers was stunned; he never expected Richard to do this.

However, he wasn't angry. Instead, he happily took the contract and read it carefully.

"Is it just that I'm not allowed to reveal this knowledge to the outside world in any form?" Jord frowned, then added a clause to the contract, "You should add another clause: I'm not allowed to use this knowledge privately. If it's someone else, I suggest adding a clause that they must have their memory erased after viewing it."

After saying that, Jorrod returned the contract to Richard, and then took out another contract from the drawer.

"Besides, your contract is only binding on apprentices; it's just a piece of paper for wizards. Use mine instead."

Having said that, George wrote down the terms of the new contract and signed it.

Seeing that Joe Lord was so cooperative, Richard secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Having an understanding teacher is a blessing.

"It's wonderful that you understand, teacher."

Richard took the contract and signed it, then led George R.R. to a room on the very edge of the fifty-sixth floor of the Black Tower.

Upon opening the door, Jorod immediately spotted the strange machine in the center of the room.

"An alchemy machine? Looks like Anna's handiwork."

Jorod looked around the room but didn't find anything unusual.

"So what's your explanation?" Jorod looked at Richard with some confusion.

"Right here," Richard said, pointing to the machine in the center of the room.

"Machines?" Jorod was taken aback. "You mean you use machines to help you process materials? That explanation isn't enough."

But he saw his student shake his head, then walk over to the machine and flip a switch.

Rumble...

A sound came from the machine, but Jorod was still confused.

What are my students doing?

But soon, he witnessed an unbelievable scene.

Richard actually pulled out a bottle of Concentration Potion from the bottom exit of the machine.

Jorrod was certain that the machine had not previously carried the potion.

"What...is this?"

Jorod had the same thought that Anna had at the time.

Machine-made potions... How absurd!

Richard shrugged, then handed the potion to Jorrod and restarted the machine.

"As you can see, I used this machine to make a bottle of Concentration Potion."

"No, no, no..." Jorod waved his hands repeatedly, and even unconsciously took a step back.

The potion in Richard's hand seemed like a man-eating demon, making Richard almost too afraid to even look at it.

How can potions be made by machines?

The creation of potions requires improvisation and years of accumulated experience from alchemists. Can a machine do all that? Could this machine possibly contain an alchemist?

Based on his past education and his own experience, Jolaud firmly stated:

"This must be a joke!"

But deep within his heart, a voice continued to call out.

"Jorod, it's true. Remember that question you had? How does the Potion Merchants' Guild of the Tower of Truth supply potions without limit?"

This reflects his determination as a wizard to pursue the truth; a wizard speaks only with facts.

Right is right, wrong is wrong.

Soon, the machine stopped making noise, and Richard took out a bottle of Concentration Potion from the shipping port.

"Teacher, another potion! Can you spot the problem with these two potions?"

Jorod took a deep breath, took the two bottles of potion, uncorked them, and tasted them with his magic.

No doubt about it, the effects of these two potions are almost identical.

Jorrod's stubbornness began to crumble, and the rationality of a wizard once again took over.

Jorod made the decision almost through gritted teeth.

"These two potions... are almost identical."

Richard, you...you've created something incredible!
