Margaret and the Blue Knight took steps almost simultaneously, a layer of moisture already swirling around her, as the two rushed straight toward the enormous creature.

Adrian lifted the book on his chest.

The scripture flew out of his hand and hovered in mid-air above the huge hollow space. Golden light burst forth from between the pages, illuminating most of the hollow.

The light was indeed bright enough, but the void was so vast that even the strongest holy light could not reach it all; the deeper part was still an impenetrable darkness, and nothing could be seen.

The moment the scripture hovered, Adrian's face paled even more. From the moment they came down to the moment they pierced through the flesh wall, the Holy Light had been used far beyond its limits, and the old bishop was clearly struggling to hold on.

But with the help of this holy light, everyone finally saw the full extent of the hollow.

The cavity was enormous, large enough to hold nearly a thousand people. The ground and walls were covered with a layer of dark red flesh, undulating slightly. The soil and rocks had long since disappeared, and the cavity was now connected to the fleshy passage above. The deeper one went, the more severe the changes became.

Seven or eight bronze pillars lay crookedly intertwined in the hollow, some half-buried in the flesh and blood of the wall, others exposed straight out, crisscrossing and dividing this space into pieces.

The areas untouched by the holy light remained shrouded in darkness, presumably where even more bronze pillars were planted.

We're almost at the deepest point.

Lu Yuan's gaze swept over the bronze pillars, and his heart skipped a beat.

It's fragments.

The thin thread in my consciousness that was connecting the first three fragments was trembling violently, pointing in a certain direction.

He was certain that the fourth one was nearby, but the thin thread was being severely disturbed in this heavily polluted area, swaying wildly left and right, making it impossible to pinpoint a closer location.

He couldn't tell which pillar it was embedded in.

Lu Yuan did not touch the ghoul brain cores in the leather pouch at his waist.

There were no other ghouls here, only that enormous creature; the faint aura emanating from its brain was of no use as cover.

As long as Margaret and the others can keep that thing occupied, he won't be much of a threat.

Lu Yuan threw a comment at Klaus.

Give me some time.

Without waiting for Klaus's response, he turned and ran toward the nearest bronze pillar.

Klaus was taken aback at first, but then he understood and didn't stop him.

The attendant understood, and a beam of purple light shot out from the side, reaching out to Lu Yuan and blocking the flying bits of flesh from his path.

Meanwhile, Margaret and the Blue Knight had already met the behemoth.

Its movements were so slow that Margaret could clearly see the trajectory of each of its initial moves.

But when that force truly comes down, the word "slow" loses its meaning.

The moisture on Margaret's body swirled and climbed up the enormous creature's body, wrapping around its calves and knees.

She wanted to drain the water from its body; this tactic had always been effective against other extraordinary beings of the same level and higher-level contaminants who had no countermeasures.

But this time they stumbled.

Her water couldn't penetrate the dark red membrane; she tried to draw water from its body, but the membrane blocked it completely.

Water can't get in, and it can't be pumped out.

After a brief exchange, Margaret immediately realized that her water control was greatly reduced against this thing, and she immediately changed her tactics.

But before she could change her move, a hand had already been raised.

The palm wasn't raised quickly, but its surface was so large that the wind it generated swirled into a hurricane, crashing down upon them.

Without thinking, Margaret pushed off with her feet and quickly retreated to the side.

His palm slammed down on the spot where she had just been standing.

boom.

A loud bang exploded in the cavity, causing several bronze pillars to tremble.

But the sound was wrong. It should have been a crisp sound of something hitting a rock, but it landed with a dull, heavy sound, like something hitting flesh and blood.

As Margaret retreated, she saw clearly that the enormous creature's feet were embedded in the flesh and blood of the ground, its lower legs blending seamlessly with the earth, making it impossible to distinguish where it ended and the ground began.

Its two legs grew directly from this flesh and blood.

Margaret understood. This flesh and blood was its root.

Its wounds were quickly healed and repaired. As long as it remained connected to the bottom of the cave, it had inexhaustible strength and could recover from any injury.

Her face darkened.

The Blue Knights noticed it too.

She didn't approach rashly. A light blue thread emerged from her fingertips, wrapped around the light red patterned slender sword, and the sword flew out of her hand, brushing against the back of the thing from a distance.

This is a test.

The next moment, the rapier bounced back as it was.

The dark red membrane of flesh tightened the moment the slender sword touched it, like a drum, sending the entire sword, along with the silk threads, flying away.

The Blue Knight let out a muffled groan at the other end of the silk thread, his wrist gripping the sword twisting from the force of the recoil.

She stared at her sword, a serious look appearing in her eyes for the first time.

Since this rapier was drawn, it has cut through armor and contaminated, reinforced shells, and nothing has ever been able to bounce it back to its original state.

Adrian's holy light descended again at this moment.

Golden light flowed from the scriptures suspended in mid-air, enveloping the people fighting below. Their wounds stopped bleeding in the light, and their tense minds relaxed a little.

But this time the light was much thinner than before.

Lu Yuan, who was squatting next to the bronze pillar, didn't get any water on him.

He glanced up at the edge of the golden light, then stopped three or four steps away and didn't go any further.

Lu Yuan wasn't sure whether the archbishop did it intentionally or was simply exhausted.

He placed his hand on the cold bronze pillar, closed his eyes, and sank his mind into the swaying thread deep within his consciousness.

In the center of the battlefield, Klaus's four afterimages landed on the ground.

Almost simultaneously, the heavy body of the Great Ascended One crashed down, his knees digging into the ground and splashing up a ring of dark red blood.

The two immediately spotted the Blue Knight locked in combat with the colossal creature, saw the rapier being deflected, and saw the patch of living flesh on the ground.

No one asked another question.

Klaus raised his bone sword horizontally, the light on the chest of the Great Ascended One shone, and the two of them, one on the left and one on the right, entered the battlefield.

The moment Klaus's bone sword fell, the behemoth didn't even try to block it.

The blade of the bone sword cut into its shoulder, and dark green crystals surged in along the cut, freezing the flesh and blood near the wound into a mass of green crystals.

Klaus flicked his wrist, trying to make the green light continue to spread.

Before the bone sword could be drawn, the flesh covered by the green crystal began to melt and fall off, and new flesh surged up from below, instantly filling the cut again.

Klaus immediately pulled away, his brow furrowed.

The Ascended Ones are even more direct.

A beam of light suddenly shone from its chest, the silver beam slicing through the hole and landing directly on the waist of the enormous creature.

The moment the beam of light pierced through, a crater the size of a bowl was burned out, and charred bits of flesh and blood flew everywhere.

However, the beam of light did not penetrate.

It pushed its way into the thing's body, but was blocked from the inside by that dark red membrane.

The light pillars of the Great Ascended Ones were extremely hot, even those special individuals couldn't withstand them, but this thing withstood them, unable to even penetrate them.

The Ascended One's silver-gray pupils flickered, and the sound of gears turning came from his chest cavity, carrying a hint of interest.

He pulled a small, palm-sized copper box from his waist, opened the lid, and found a layer of isolation inscriptions inside.

He planned to cut two pieces of meat to take back with him.

The Blue Knights have changed their tactics.

After her sword was deflected, she didn't try any more ranged attacks. (Shallow)

Blue threads burst forth from every seam of the armor, wrapping her up in a ball before suddenly exploding away.

Countless silk threads spread out and embedded themselves in the surrounding ground and bronze pillars, forming a dense web centered on her. She hung in the middle of the silk threads, resembling a spider.

The next moment, the Blue Knight suddenly launched herself forward. The force of the contracting threads accelerated her to an incredibly high speed, her figure becoming a blue afterimage, grazing past the massive creature's calf.

She held the rapier horizontally, its blade wreathed in a layer of crimson sword energy—her strongest attack so far.

A muffled thud.

The scarlet sword energy tore a waist-long gash in its calf, deep enough to expose bone, and dark red flesh gushed out, blood flying everywhere.

The thing's two misaligned eyes on its head turned towards the Blue Knight at the same time, clearly indicating that it was also in pain.

Its movements remained slow, as it slammed a hand down towards the Blue Knight. However, the Blue Knight had already used the silken threads to bounce dozens of steps away, and its hand struck empty air, creating a crater half a person deep in the fleshy ground.

The Blue Knight's gaze fell on the opening.

New flesh was gushing out from the bottom of the wound at a speed visible to the naked eye. Before she could even land properly, the waist-length gash had already closed up more than halfway. The Blue Knight's eyes darkened.

Margaret also changed her approach.

Water control didn't work on this thing, so she simply stopped touching it.

He took two steps back, spread his arms, and floated slightly, turning his attention to the surrounding environment.

Although the cavity was deep, there was a lot of moisture in the air. The fleshy walls themselves were constantly emitting damp gas, along with the blood and mucus flowing from the wounds of that thing.

Margaret grasped at the moisture, and a large amount of water gathered towards her from all directions.

The water condensed around her limbs and body into sharp needles and thin blades, densely packed around her, looking very sharp.

The next moment, dozens of water needles shot out simultaneously, piercing the back of the enormous creature.

The water needles were much thinner than the slender swords, and they didn't take much effort to penetrate the flesh membrane, sinking one by one into the flesh.

The water needles that were inserted were quickly swallowed by flesh and blood, and the wounds, like the one left by the Blue Knight, grew back in the blink of an eye.

Margaret remained unfazed, and with a flick of her wrist, a new round of water blades was already formed.

She didn't expect to kill it, but at least she could keep it in check.
