Peninsula: From Water Injection to Stardom

Chapter 148 The World's First Marshal Emerges

Du Hua came over during Jiang Yan's rehearsal period.

But he didn't come here specifically to see him. He was in South Korea on some business, and after he finished, he thought he'd come and see this "Number One Male Host of Yuehua Entertainment".

Even if Han Geng is currently the de facto number one male artist at Yuehua Entertainment, most people within both the domestic and South Korean Yuehua companies have already recognized Jiang Yan as the new number one male artist.

Speaking of which, Jiang Yan has been with Yuehua Entertainment for so long, but he has never met this senior who left Super Junior.

But to be honest, when we actually met and started talking, there wasn't much to talk about. We just talked about our less-than-honorable experiences as trainees in South Korea.

But Jiang Yan doesn't have the habit of bringing up the hardships she's endured as a topic of conversation; there's no need for it.

Although she marketed herself with a "beautiful, strong, and tragic" persona when she made her comeback, she has now passed the embarrassing stage of needing to use "tragic" to attract fans, and it is no longer appropriate to deliberately play the victim.

When Du Hua came over, she specially ordered milk tea for everyone in the practice room as a treat. Then, she took Jiang Yan to a small office to chat.

"How are the preparations for this concert going?" Du Hua started by saying something rather pointless.

"The rehearsal went quite smoothly, no problems at all," Jiang Yan replied casually.

"Yes, your career is developing very well now, and you have even opened up overseas markets. However, I think you should also increase your activities in mainland China, since that is your core business."

Even though Jiang Yan has a wide range of opportunities now, Du Hua still believes that he still needs to cultivate his career more deeply in China.

"I understand. So, does the company have any domestic travel arrangements?"

Jiang Yan understood what Du Hua meant, and he didn't think there was anything wrong with what she said.

Although China's music market may not yet show its full potential, its concert market has always been enormous and will continue to grow over time.

In the future, many tone-deaf domestic artists will be able to open a stadium once or twice to make money off the audience.

"Yes, starting next year we plan to arrange some variety shows for you in China so that you can get more exposure."

"Sister Hua, you should know that I don't have much of a sense of humor when it comes to variety shows."

"Of course I know, don't worry, I won't let you become a comedian."

Du Hua is well aware of why Jiang Yan doesn't like appearing on variety shows, so she personally oversees the selection of variety shows for him.

To put it bluntly, Jiang Yan is now a cash cow for Yuehua Entertainment, and they have to cherish him.

"That's good. Is there anything else important you want to say, Sister Hua?"

"You have to go to the Weibo Night next month, but I have to tell you in advance that you probably have no chance of becoming the Weibo King. Sina has already spoken to you."

Weibo awards the Weibo King & Queen every year, but this list doesn't really have much authority or prestige.

To put it bluntly, it depends on who the organizer wants to award it to, and receiving it won't necessarily bring any substantial boost to one's career.

"That kind of thing doesn't matter," Jiang Yan said calmly.

"It's good that you don't care. By the way, you were second to last in line for the red carpet this time," Du Hua told her another thing.

"Second to last? That's not bad, it's worthy of my current performance." Jiang Yan was quite satisfied with this ranking.

"Aren't you curious about who's going to be the finale?" Du Hua asked, seeing that he didn't seem to care at all about who would be the finale.

"It's Brother Chun, who else could it be?"

How could Jiang Yan not know the famous "Queen of the Red Carpet"? She's incredibly famous.

Upon hearing that he actually knew, Du Hua swallowed back the words she was about to say.

Meanwhile, Jiang Yan suddenly remembered something and asked, "By the way, can I bring a female companion when I walk the red carpet?"

Du Hua was somewhat surprised when she heard him say that: "You're bringing a female companion?!"

"Yes, is that not allowed?"

"There's no rule saying you can't, but I don't recommend you do it."

"Sister Hua is saying that what I'm doing will provoke some of my female fans, right?"

"You knew you had to bring it?"

"So what? I wasn't going to follow the traffic-driven route in the first place."

"."

'

Du Hua fell silent upon hearing Jiang Yan's words.

If any of her other artists dared to speak like that, she would definitely give them a good scolding.

But when Jiang Yan said those words, she was speechless.

Actually, after the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show aired, Jiang Yan's fanbase had already lost some female fans because of his close interactions with the supermodels.

However, the number was small, and the number of new followers far exceeded the number of new followers, so it didn't cause much of a stir.

"So who do you want to bring? You don't mean your boyfriend, do you?" In Du Hua's memory, Jiang Yan's only boyfriend was Kim Seol-hyun.

"I don't know, I haven't decided yet," Jiang Yan replied hesitantly.

His idea was spur-of-the-moment, but the specific candidate was still nowhere in sight.

However, Kim Seolhyun was not really on his list of considerations, because taking her there now would be harming her.

Kim Seolhyun is currently at the peak of her popularity, and she hasn't fully capitalized on the benefits of her personal endorsements and group activities.

Jiang Yan will only consider appearing in public with Kim Seolhyun after AOA fades into obscurity in two years.

Bring Yu Jeongyeon? He already did on the red carpet at the last MAMA, and he won't consider it anytime soon.

As for the other people with Twice, it's inappropriate for them to bring it along, there's no reasonable reason for it.

After much thought, Jiang Yan couldn't think of a suitable candidate for the time being.

After chatting briefly in the office for almost an hour, Du Hua finally left at a leisurely pace.

She meant that she was going to YG to find Wang Yibo and the others later, but Jiang Yan didn't care. After saying goodbye to them, she returned to the practice room to continue rehearsing.

The same thing happened in the following days.

During this time, he also received several photos from Mina, which were selfies she took while resting in the studio when the entire TWICE team went to film Elsword.

Along with posting a selfie, Mina also messaged me saying that she thought the game looked quite interesting and that she and Momo had already agreed to go to an internet cafe to play it together after the year-end music festival.

Jiang Yan didn't say anything about it, since he knew the other party wouldn't be playing around for long anyway.

Then, the time quickly came to the 27th.

Just as South Korean fandoms were focused on tonight's Gayo Daejeon, one of the three major broadcasting networks, news came from across the ocean.

American film review media TCCandler officially released its lists of the "100 Most Handsome Faces of 2015" and the "100 Most Beautiful Faces of 2015" today via its official social media accounts and YouTube platform.

On the list, this year's world's most beautiful woman was once again Nana (Im Jin-ah) from AfterSchoo I.

The person who topped the list of this year's most handsome faces is Jiang Yan.
