"Lu Xueqi!" He jumped up, ignoring the clatter of the chair he knocked over, and lunged at her, baring his teeth and claws. "I'll fight you to the death!"

Lu Xueqi didn't dodge; he fell squarely into her arms and was caught by her.

The familiar, cool-smelling embrace was soft yet incredibly resilient. He was more than half a head shorter than her, and as he pounced on her, his face was buried right in her shoulder and neck.

A soft laugh came from above, his chest trembling slightly: "What's wrong, husband? Why are you in such a hurry to throw yourself into my arms?"

"Who, who threw themselves at me! You started it..." He struggled to raise his head to argue, but Lu Xueqi lowered her head and kissed his still flushed cheek again.

It was light and quick, like a stolen kiss in the early morning.

Jiang Xiaochuan froze, motionless, the spot on his face where he had been kissed burning hot.

"You...you only know how to bully me." He buried his face back in his hands, his voice muffled, carrying a hint of grievance and...coquettishness that he himself didn't realize?

Lu Xueqi hugged him, gently stroking his back like she was petting a cat with its fur standing on end. She said, "If I don't bully you, who else should I bully?"

He quieted down and stopped talking, just nestled in her arms. After a while, he finally whimpered, "My back is a little sore... could you rub it for me?"

I was exhausted last night, and that soreness and fatigue is still lingering in my bones.

"Okay." Lu Xueqi agreed readily, bent down, put her arms under his knees, and with a little effort, picked him up horizontally.

"Hey! I can walk by myself!"

"Don't move." Lu Xueqi carried him back to the bedroom, gently placed him on the bed, and made him lie face down. Then she sat on the edge of the bed and reached out to press her hand lightly on his lower back.

The fingertips, imbued with spiritual energy, were warm and soothing, applying just the right amount of pressure to loosen up those taut muscles.

Jiang Xiaochuan sighed comfortably, burying his face in the pillow. He felt the soreness gradually dissipate as Lu Xueqi massaged him, making him feel so comfortable that he became drowsy.

After pressing for a while, Lu Xueqi's hand suddenly stopped, and she pressed her fingertips on a spot above his tailbone.

"The wound on your back," she said calmly, "has healed long ago, hasn't it? I checked it a few days ago, and the scar had faded so much that it was almost invisible."

Jiang Xiaochuan's body stiffened almost imperceptibly.

Yes, he's all better now, not just better, he's practically jumping around. As for why last night... why he was still... well, well, it can only be said that he overestimated his physical strength and underestimated the consumption of certain things. He just wanted to... wanted to occasionally take a little bit of initiative, but... so tiring, more tiring than a day of cultivation.

"N-no..." he mumbled, his face buried in the pillow, his voice a little muffled, "It still...it still hurts a little..."

Lu Xueqi didn't speak, her fingertips continued to press slowly and steadily, the pressure still precise, but Jiang Xiaochuan felt as if her fingers had lightly brushed against his waist.

"Then..." Lu Xueqi's voice came from above, still devoid of any emotion, "Still want to be on top?"

Jiang Xiaochuan shuddered and shook his head like a rattle: "I don't want to think about it anymore, it's too tiring up there, it's better if you're up there!" He realized he had misspoke as soon as he finished speaking, his face flushed again, and he buried his head deeper into the pillow.

A very soft chuckle seemed to come from above.

"Aren't you...aren't you tired?" he asked sullenly, trying to change the subject, and also with a bit of genuine confusion. She was the one who did most of the work, so why was she always so energetic, while he felt completely drained?

There was a moment of silence behind him, then Lu Xueqi leaned forward slightly, her warm breath brushing against his reddened earlobes. Her voice was so low it was almost a sigh, yet it carried a frankness that sent chills down his spine:

"What's there to be tired about? My husband is exceptionally gifted, and I... am very pleased with him."

Jiang Xiaochuan: "!!!"

He looked like a boiled shrimp, red from head to toe, even his toes were curled up.

He wanted to argue, to protest, to say to Lu Xueqi, "How can you be so shameless? How can you say such things without batting an eye?" But when the words reached his lips, he felt that whatever he said would only make him look more embarrassed. In the end, he could only bury his face in the pillow in despair and decide to ignore her.

Lu Xueqi was driving too fast and too aggressively; he couldn't keep up or handle it.

But the person behind him wouldn't let him go. The hand that was massaging his waist had changed its meaning at some point. It slowly moved upwards along the concavity of his spine with gentle force, yet it aroused a subtle shiver.

"Why are you hiding?" Lu Xueqi's voice was close to my ear, tinged with laughter. "Your husband wasn't like this last night."

"Shut up!" Jiang Xiaochuan was so ashamed and angry that he reached out to cover her mouth, but his wrist was easily grabbed and pressed against the side of the pillow.

Lu Xueqi leaned down and pressed herself against him, her other hand supporting her face, trapping him between herself and the bed. She looked down at his flushed cheeks and trembling eyelashes, her gaze deep.

"My husband last night..." She paused deliberately, watching with satisfaction as his eyelashes trembled even more violently, "...and he was clearly very happy too."

"I didn't! You're lying!" Jiang Xiaochuan said, his voice stern but his heart was weak.

"Really?" Lu Xueqi raised an eyebrow, her fingertips lightly tracing his burning earlobe. "Then who was it that wouldn't let go of my arm, and kept..."

"Ahhh, don't say it!" Jiang Xiaochuan suddenly rolled over, ignoring his aching back, and reached out to cover her mouth, his face turning so red it was almost bleeding.

Lu Xueqi let him cover her mouth, but her clear, cold eyes were brimming with laughter. She stuck out her tongue and quickly licked his palm.

The wet, warm touch startled Jiang Xiaochuan, who immediately withdrew his hand and stared at her with suspicion.

Lu Xueqi straightened up, tidied her slightly disheveled clothes, and the playful and alluring aura from before had subsided, returning to her usual aloof demeanor, though a lingering hint of spring still remained in her eyes and brows.

"Okay, I won't tease you anymore." Her tone was flat, as if she wasn't the one who had just made him blush and his heart race. "Lie down properly, is your back still sore? Let me massage it for you again."

Jiang Xiaochuan glared at her, still shaken, and slowly lay back down, saying in a muffled voice, "Just press it, don't say another word!"

"Okay." Lu Xueqi readily agreed and placed her warm palms on his lower back again, massaging it carefully.

But the force she used, and the occasional unintentional lingering of her fingertips, always made Jiang Xiaochuan feel that she was still up to no good.

After pressing the incense stick for another hour, Lu Xueqi finally stopped.

"Alright, take a break. I'm going out to practice my swordsmanship."

As she spoke, she got up, walked to the door, and glanced back at him. Jiang Xiaochuan was lying on the bed, his face buried in his arms, only his bright red ear tips showing, like a sulking quail. A very faint smile flashed in her eyes as she pushed open the door and went out.

Soon, the clear sound of swords rang out from the courtyard. It was Xueqi practicing her sword. Her moves were still sharp, but they seemed to have a more mellow and calm quality than they had ten years ago.

Jiang Xiaochuan lay on the bed, listening to the rhythmic and familiar sword chimes. His mind gradually calmed down, and the soreness in his waist was relieved.

He lay there for a while, then, feeling bored, got up and started tidying up the room.

He skillfully folded their scattered clothes, tidied the bed, and wiped the tables and chairs clean.

As I was gently sweeping away non-existent dust from a corner, the door creaked open.
