Elven cultivators

Chapter 30 The First Step to Surpassing Anton

In the year 9284 of the Dawn Calendar, a cold wind howled.

Silvermoon Forest remains lush and green.

The biting wind swept in from the north, but was tamed by the Eternal Tree the moment it touched the edge of the forest, turning into wisps of gentle air that brought only a refreshing coolness.

Eleanor walked out of the Hall of Eternity with a frown, her deliberately heavy footsteps echoing dully on the wooden corridor, revealing the pent-up frustration in her heart.

Leaning against the pillar, Leila took in the whole scene and immediately realized that her friend had failed to achieve her goal again.

She straightened up and stepped forward: "The Grand Elder still rejected you?"

"I don't understand," Eleanor said, her voice tinged with suppressed resentment. "I'm clearly stronger than many of the guards, so why am I not allowed to participate in the battle?"

Lyra comforted her, "Underage elves are strictly prohibited from participating in battles. This has always been a rule of the clan. The Grand Elder probably doesn't want to break the rule and cause you any gossip."

Eleanor bit her lip and remained silent.

Being the granddaughter of the Grand Elder often brings her convenience, but sometimes it can also become an invisible constraint, placing her every move under the scrutiny of the clan.

She had to be better than everyone else, more disciplined, and unable to make mistakes.

"Let's go to the training ground."

Leila noticed that Eleanor was in a bad mood, so she took Eleanor's hand and walked towards the training ground, intending to let her vent her emotions.

As they passed through the tree-lined walkway, the two heard a cheer coming from afar. Looking in the direction of the sound, they saw a group of guards walking towards them in high spirits.

They were covered in bloodstains and mud, clearly having just finished a battle, but they looked full of energy. Even the wounded on the stretchers were laughing and scolding their comrades for their clumsiness.

Lyra spotted a familiar figure in the group and immediately waved, calling out, "Sister Valerie!"

In the crowd, an elven girl with a high ponytail looked over upon hearing the voice. Seeing that it was Lyra and Eleanor, she immediately smiled and waved, then broke away from the group and walked towards the two.

"Sister Valerie," Eleanor greeted her, asking curiously, "Did you just get back from the war?"

Every winter, those cold-blooded reptiles from the north invade the forest; judging by the time, they should be here soon.

Sure enough, Valerie nodded: "Those damned reptiles broke into the forest two hours ago, and we just had a fight with them."

"Judging from your expressions, you must have won a great victory," Leila said with a grin.

"More than that." Valerie's smile grew even brighter. "We utterly annihilated those lizardmen. After the battle, we tallied up the numbers and found that we didn't have a single casualty."

Eleanor and Lyra were taken aback by these words.

Every year, the Lizardmen's invasions cause considerable casualties to the Silvermoon Clan, which is the main reason why the Silvermoon Clan's population has not increased significantly over the years.

The Presbyterian Council has long been troubled by this.

Zero casualties was an extremely unfamiliar term to the Silvermoon Clan.

I never expected to hear this from Valerie.

Seeing the incredulous expressions on the two women's faces, Valerie smiled and explained, "To be honest, it's all thanks to Anton."

"His improved muscle-regenerating medicine is so effective that even the most severe injuries can be healed almost instantly after drinking one bottle, greatly reducing combat casualties."

"There are also mana recovery potions, which are much more effective than the mana restoration potions we used to use. Drinking one before a battle basically eliminates the problem of mana depletion, greatly improving our combat endurance."

"Fire Spirit Potions, which can amplify fire elemental magic, are also very useful..."

Valerie rattled off a list of several potions, her words filled with amazement and praise for Anton, as if the young elf who had never been on the battlefield was the true hero of this victory.

Eleanor and Lyra looked at each other in bewilderment.

In the past two years, they have heard a lot about which potion Anton has improved, which has earned him high praise from the elders. His reputation as a genius pharmacist is well-known.

They also used one or two of these medications, and the effects were indeed very good.

But they never imagined that these potions could have such amazing effects in battle.

The impact of Anton's improved potion on the clan seems to have far exceeded their expectations.

"I used to think that Anton was only talented in cultivation, but I didn't expect him to be so talented in pharmacology as well."

"I heard that Lord Darian also speaks highly of Anton, and once said in public that Anton will definitely become a master of potion making in the future."

"If that's the case, it would be a tremendous blessing for our clan."

Valerie's expression betrayed her anticipation.

Their forest guards were the ones who understood the benefits of the improved medicine most deeply, and they also had great admiration for Anton.

After chatting for a while, Valerie took her leave and hurriedly caught up with her companions.

"I never imagined Anton's improved potions were so powerful," Leila exclaimed in awe. "Being a dual master of magic and martial arts is one thing, but to be a genius potion master too? How can there be such a powerful person in the world? How are ordinary people like me supposed to survive?"

After speaking but receiving no response, Lyra turned her head in confusion and found Eleanor looking dazed, lost in thought.

Lyra gently nudged her, her expression strange, and said, "Eleanor, are you getting competitive again? Don't be, you're definitely no match for Anton in potion-making."

"Don't talk nonsense." Eleanor snapped out of her daze and rolled her eyes at Lyra.

She's not stupid, why would she want to compete with Anton in pharmacy talent?

She had some confidence in alchemy, but potion-making was absolutely out of the question.

Throughout the history of the Silvermoon Clan, there has never been a monster like Anton, who was able to improve multiple potions in less than three years of studying potion science.

This talent prevented her from even having the slightest thought of comparison.

It would be better to compete with Anton in terms of strength; perhaps then there would be some hope of catching up.

Thinking of this, Eleanor felt a strange sense of urgency.

"I've made up my mind!"

"What?" Leila looked at her friend in confusion.

Eleanor declared firmly, "Once I break through to the Silver rank, I will apply to challenge the Wind Whisperer Trial."

Lyra was slightly taken aback. She knew that Eleanor was already learning third-circle spells, and once she mastered them, she would be able to advance to the Silver Rank spellcaster.

Based on her understanding of Eleanor, this period would not exceed five years at most.

Eleanor is still thirteen years away from adulthood.

"Will the elders agree to let you take on the challenge ahead of schedule?" Leila asked hesitantly.

"Why don't you agree?" Eleanor scoffed. "The clan has never had a rule against challenging the Wind Whisperer Trials ahead of time."

Leila was stunned for a moment, and after thinking about it carefully, she realized it was true.

Previously, everyone would take on the Wind Whisperer Trial on their coming-of-age ceremony. Over time, this became the accepted practice, but there was actually no corresponding rule.

No one ever thought of taking on the challenge ahead of time, since everyone has more time to build up their skills.

"Once I become a Wind Whisperer, I'll have the right to participate in battles, and no one else will have anything to say."

Eleanor's expression was resolute as she gazed intently toward the Tree of Eternity.

Becoming a Wind Talker is her first step in surpassing Anton!
