Chapter 98 Girls' Generation Night Talk

Night quietly fell, and the streets lit up with dazzling lights.

The members of Girls' Generation also ended their short vacation one after another and returned to their familiar dormitories.

Kim Tae-yeon was wearing loungewear, her hair was tied up with clips, and she was sitting cross-legged on the sofa in the living room.

An unknown comedy variety show was playing on the television.

She was holding a cushion in her arms, humming a little tune happily.

The members who had just returned from outside immediately huddled together upon seeing Taeyeon's strange appearance.

"Yoona, look at that on the sofa."

Sunny took off her coat and gestured towards the sofa with her lips, indicating that they should look over there.

"What's wrong with Taeyeon?"

"It's only been a day since I last saw her, but she's like a completely different person."

"Could this woman be possessed by some strange entity?"

Yoona followed the gaze and nodded in agreement.

"Taeyeon unnie is definitely much more cheerful now than before."

She smiled faintly and then shook her head.

"Sun-kyu unnie, don't make wild guesses."

"I think Taeyeon unnie must have been able to go home and see her family, which is why she's so happy."

"Just like yesterday, I went shopping with Yoonjin unnie all day, and I still feel great."

Sunny, however, waved her finger without hesitation, her face showing an expression that seemed to know everything.

"No, no, no, Yoona, you're too naive."

"Based on my understanding of Kim Tae-yeon over the years, things are definitely not as simple as you think."

She squinted slightly, sizing up the woman sitting on the sofa, hugging a cushion and grinning foolishly.

"Take a close look at her face right now, that lovestruck expression."

"I swear on my height, she's definitely hiding something from us."

Yoona was so frightened by the oath that she took two small steps back.

"Unnie, you really don't need to make such a vicious oath, especially considering your already short stature—"

"Ugh! Yoona, do you want to hear my analysis or not?" Sunny glared at her angrily.

Im Yoona quickly gave a sheepish smile and said, "Unnie, please continue, please continue."

"How about this?" Sunny's eyes lit up. "How about we make a bet now?"

When Yoona heard about the bet, she immediately became interested. She had been quite upset about losing to Sunny last time.

"Okay, unnie, how do you want to bet? What are the stakes?"

Sunny gave a sly smile: "Let's bet on whether Taeyeon is so excited right now because of a man or a woman."

"I'll place my bet first! I guess it's because of the woman!"

Im Yoona immediately protested.

"Hey! Unnie, you're clearly cheating!"

"Who doesn't know that Taeyeon unnie rarely interacts with male friends!"

"Protest denied, Im Yoona. Place your bet and you're done!"

Just as the two were arguing about the bet, the dormitory door was pushed open again, and Seohyun walked in carrying large and small bags.

"Why aren't the unnies going inside? They're all just standing here in the entryway!"

Kim Tae-yeon also heard the noise, turned around, and waved to Seohyun with a smile.

"Xiaoxian, you're back! Come here quickly."

"Unnie, what's wrong?"

Seohyun put down what she was holding and strode over.

Kim Tae-yeon got up, opened the refrigerator next to her, took out a food container, and handed it to Seohyun, saying, "Seohyun, this is some side dish that my mom specially asked me to bring back."

"My mom said that this tastes a little different from what she made before, and she told me that I must let you all try it."

Time passed slowly as the members shared their holiday anecdotes.

As night deepened, everyone finished washing up and prepared to go back to their bedrooms to sleep.

When Kim Tae-yeon came out of the bathroom after applying a face mask, she felt like someone was missing.

Just then, Sunny walked over, drying her hair.

-

She pulled her roommate aside and asked, "Sun-kyu, do you know where Yoona went?"

Sunny yawned. "Yoona went out a long time ago, didn't you know?"

"Huh? Where did she go so late at night?" Kim Tae-yeon asked with concern.

"It seems she went to see her unnie. Not long after Seohyun came back, she received a call from her unnie and then rushed out."

"Alright, alright, Yoona, that clever little devil, are you worried about her getting into trouble? Let's go, let's go back to our rooms and get some sleep, I'm so sleepy."

Back in my room, half an hour passed without me even realizing it.

Seeing that Kim Tae-yeon was still awake, Sunny simply got out of bed and tiptoed to Tae-yeon's bedside.

She leaned over and secretly glanced at Kim Tae-yeon's phone screen.

Good heavens! This woman is playing Candy Crush instead of sleeping at night!

"Taeyeon, it's getting late, why aren't you asleep yet?"

"You go to sleep first, we'll talk after I finish this game."

Kim Tae-yeon didn't even look up, and gave a vague reply.

"Is this game really that fun?"

"6

"It's fun!" Kim Tae-yeon said dismissively.

Just as Sunny was getting bored and preparing to get up and go back to her own bed—

"Ah Dou~"

A message popped up on Kim Tae-yeon's screen.

Taeyeon, I'm so sorry, my phone died and shut down automatically, that's why I didn't see your message.

I don't know if you're asleep yet. Anyway, goodnight, sweet dreams.

Sunny squinted and took in both messages at a glance.

Upon seeing the message, Kim Tae-yeon instantly relaxed, but soon noticed that Radar was sitting next to her.

She quickly moved aside and held her phone with both hands to reply.

It's okay, I'm getting ready to sleep anyway.

[Tomorrow is the last day of the holiday. Where are you planning to go?]

After clicking send, Kim Tae-yeon immediately locked the screen and casually stuffed her phone under her pillow.

Unfortunately, Sunny witnessed all of this.

Suspicious! Very suspicious!

"I said, Taeyeon."

"Who would message you this late?"

"Is that person named 0 a new friend of yours?"

"Huh? What 0?" Kim Tae-yeon stiffened slightly and began to play dumb.

"He's just a regular friend outside the entertainment industry."

97

"Oh? Just a regular friend outside the industry?"

Sunny raised an eyebrow and slowly leaned forward, giving Kim Tae-yeon a great sense of pressure.

"Then tell me, what kind of normal friend would stay up so late and send you a message to ask if you're asleep?"

""

"Besides, when you replied to that message just now, you were all smiles, you dare say you're just ordinary friends?"

"I wasn't laughing!"

Kim Tae-yeon quickly covered her mouth with her hand.

But this move is undoubtedly a classic case of protesting too much.

"It's because he did me a big favor before, and I owe him one, so I'm being a little more polite to him."

"Help? Help with what?" Sunny's gaze was piercing as she pressed closer.

"Well—it's just that I got lost when I went home last time, and he happened to be passing by and gave me directions."

Kim Tae-yeon's ability to make up lies was really bad; her eyes darted around nervously, and she didn't dare to meet Sunny's eyes at all.

"Kim Tae-yeon, do you think I'm stupid? You think you can get lost when you go back to your hometown? Your excuse is so lame!"

Kim Tae-yeon was speechless after being rebuked, and her cheeks slowly began to turn red.

Knowing that saying too much would only lead to more mistakes, she decided to go all out and simply pulled the blanket over herself.

"Ugh! Lee Soon-kyu, you're so annoying!"

"I'm going to sleep now, you go back to your own bed!"

Sunny sat on the edge of the bed and snapped her fingers with satisfaction.

"Fine, keep pretending to be asleep. But I'll remember this Mr. 0."
