Peninsula: I run a bed and breakfast on Jeju Island

Chapter 114 Choi Jin-ri's Home

Chapter 114 Choi Jin-ri's Home

"You really came to pick me up alone? Aren't you afraid of being photographed by paparazzi?"

Looking at Choi Jin-ri, who was wearing sunglasses and a mask, Lee Ran raised an eyebrow.

He also noticed that the sunglasses Choi Jin-ri was wearing were the same pair he had given her before.

Li Ran knew she must have more expensive and better-looking sunglasses at home, so she didn't know why she wore these.

"If I were scared, I wouldn't have come. Get in the car!" She smiled and opened the car door.

Li Ran raised an eyebrow and carried all the luggage upstairs.

Meow~

The petting cat, Pudding, seemed excited to see Choi Jin-ri and barked.

"Long time no see, Brin!" she greeted Brin. "And you, Little Black, it's been a long time since I've seen you either."

Li Ran placed Xiao Hei and Bulin's pet carriers together.

Seeing that he had loaded all the things into the car, Choi Jin-ri stopped teasing them.

She opened the car door and got into the driver's seat.

"Fasten your seatbelts."

Choi Jin-ri started the car and casually said something.

"Yes, Master Cui." Li Ran smiled and fastened his seatbelt.

She gripped the steering wheel and slowly drove the car out of the parking space.

Around 3 p.m., the sunlight outside the airport was a bit dazzling.

Overall, the weather was pretty good, unlike Jeju Island a few days ago, where it was raining the whole time.

The traffic in Seoul was relatively smooth, and there wasn't much traffic congestion along the way.

Li Ran sat in the passenger seat, watching the scenery outside the window slowly change from overpasses and commercial areas to residential areas, and more green belts appeared along the roadside.

About half an hour later, the car turned into a quiet residential area with detached houses.

Li Ran glanced out the window.

There are many green belts around, and the environment is very quiet, unlike in the city where you can hear car noise as soon as you open the window.

Choi Jin-ri slowed down and stopped in front of a detached villa.

The villa is surrounded by a stone wall fence made of rough rubble.

In the middle of the wall is a black iron gate.

Two beautifully trimmed ornamental pines stand by the door, looking quite spirited.

The two-story villa has a red tile roof and a slightly European-style exterior.

"arrive."

Choi Jin-ri took off her sunglasses and got out of the car.

Li Ran got out as well and opened the trunk.

He wondered if it was because there was more greenery here, but he always felt that the air here was much more comfortable than at the airport.

"The environment is nice."

Li Ran looked around.

"I moved here because the environment was nice," Choi Jin-ri said, opening the iron gate. "And it's surrounded by trees, so there's not much noise from people."

She helped Li Ran move some things.

The two walked into the courtyard.

"You can stay in the guest room downstairs for the next few days. I'll stay on the second floor. Just call me anytime if you need anything."

"I'm so sorry," he said with a smile, looking around at his surroundings.

"Since you're already here, do you think I'd let you stay in a hotel?" She pouted. "Hurry up and go inside."

Upon entering, Li Ran discovered that the living room was more spacious than he had imagined.

However, he always felt that the lighting in the room was not very good.

Outside the living room is a small garden, separated by four wooden sliding doors.

The crape myrtle trees are in full bloom, and the two pine trees are also beautifully pruned.

When the wind blew, the leaves on both sides swayed gently.

"How is it?"

Choi Jin-ri casually tossed the keys onto the cabinet. "The view's alright, isn't it?"

"It's great, much better than my guesthouse."

She shook her head. "Actually, I quite like your guesthouse."

"Shall we switch?" he joked.

"Sure!" she nodded.

Li Ran didn't take it seriously and instead asked, "By the way, where's the kitchen? Is there any food left? I'm a little hungry."

"The kitchen is over here."

Choi Jin-ri pointed to the other side of the living room, then kicked off her shoes and put on slippers.

"There should still be some food in the fridge, but I haven't been home much lately, so I've forgotten exactly how much is left."

"You don't usually cook?" Li Ran asked, putting the pet carrier on the ground.

"I only cook instant noodles occasionally."

He raised an eyebrow and then changed into slippers.

Choi Jin-ri walked over and freed Brin and Kuro from their pet carriers.

Meow~

As soon as Brin was released, he naturally rubbed against her calf.

Choi Jin-ri squatted down and reached out to scratch its chin.

"Aigoo~ Did our Brin miss me?"

Brin squinted comfortably and flicked its tail gently.

The little black cat next to him wasn't as clingy.

After it came out, it first lowered its head and sniffed, then wagged its tail and walked to Li Ran's feet.

It looks like it's still getting used to its new environment.

Choi Jin-ri picked up Brin and gently weighed her in her arms.

"Um?"

She blinked. "Has Brin gotten fatter?"

Li Ran scratched his eyebrows. "It has been eating a lot lately. Sometimes it finishes its own cat food and then steals Xiao Hei's dog food."

"Later, I poured an extra portion of cat food for it, but before it had even finished its own food, it started trying to steal Xiao Hei's dog food."

"Oh! You're pretty naughty, aren't you?" She tapped Brin's head.

It was looking up at her with an innocent expression.

Li Ran looked down at Xiao Hei, who was pacing around her feet, and rubbed her belly.

"I'm so hungry, I'm going to the kitchen to find something to eat."

As she spoke, Li Ran walked towards the kitchen in the direction Cui Zhenli had just pointed.

Choi Jin-ri also followed, carrying Brin.

He opened the refrigerator, glanced inside, and then fell silent.

He found that the refrigerator was mostly filled with fruit, yogurt, sparkling water, and salad.

In a corner of the refrigerator, there were a few eggs, a bag of toast, and a few boxes of ham slices that I didn't know when I bought them.

There was beef and frozen dumplings in the freezer section below, but after glancing at the packaging, he felt that these things must have been sitting there for quite a while.

Li Ran closed the refrigerator and rummaged through the cabinet next to it.

There were quite a few seasonings in the cabinet.

Salt, sugar, light soy sauce, oyster sauce, pepper, and even two bottles of olive oil that looked unopened.

"You bought these seasonings to keep as a memento? You don't even need to use a single bottle." He turned to look at Choi Jin-ri.

"Well, mainly because I used to think about occasionally learning to cook online."

She was a little embarrassed, "But then I got too busy, so—"

"Tsk." Li Ran curled her lip.

He took the eggs and toast out of the refrigerator.

"Do you have butter?"

"There should be, right?"

She pointed to a small sliding cabinet next to the refrigerator, "It should be over there."

Li Ran opened the cabinet and found that it was neatly filled with dried goods and baking supplies.

Butter, powdered sugar, cake flour, and even an unopened set of piping tips.

"You've also bought piping tips?"

Choi Jin-ri hugged Brin tighter, a little embarrassed, "I watched a lot of baking videos during that time —"

"I understand." Li Ran nodded and pushed the cabinet door back shut. "Students with poor grades have a lot of stationery!"

"ah!"

He ignored Choi Jin-ri's protests, washed his hands, and started working.
