Chapter 119 A New Wish List
Chapter 119 A New Wish List
"Where did you come from? I didn't see you on you just now!"
"Don't worry about that, I, Doraemon, have my own way." He tilted his head slightly, a slight smile playing on his lips.
"Tsk, looks like even outside the guesthouse, your Doraemon pocket is still working its magic!"
Choi Jin-ri smiled and took the paper and pen from his hand.
The paper wasn't big, only about the size of two palms.
She gently pressed the paper down with the pen cap, leaving some marks on it.
"How many wishes do you want to write down?" She looked up at Li Ran.
"Whatever you want. Write as many as you like."
"Can I write about very small things?"
"Oh, it's your own wish. Write whatever you want. What's the difference between ordinary and ordinary wishes? Even if you write that you want to eat a bowl of beef noodles tomorrow, that's still a wish."
"Hey! I've noticed that sometimes you act like a kindergarten kid!"
Choi Jin-ri pouted, "Then I'll start writing! You have to write too!"
"Okay! Okay!" He nodded perfunctorily.
Seeing that she had lowered her head, Li Ran then turned her gaze back to her own piece of paper.
He bit the pen cap and stared blankly at the white paper in front of him.
Although he spoke eloquently to Choi Jin-ri just now, when it came to writing it himself, he couldn't write it at all.
He realized that he didn't really have any particularly clear wishes.
It has always been a vague "lying flat" or "relaxing".
If I had to give a specific wish—
Li Ran glanced at Cui Zhenli beside her.
He genuinely hoped she could live a more relaxed life, at least not repeat the mistakes of her past life.
But how could I write this out? I definitely couldn't reveal that I had traveled through time.
"What are you looking at?" Choi Jin-ri glanced at him warily and covered her paper with her hand.
He pursed his lips, thinking to himself:
Why are you blocking it? You don't even want to see it yourself!
Li Ran scratched his brow and began writing the first line on the paper: [I hope my friend Choi Jin-ri can live a happier life.]
It wasn't intentionally meant to be sentimental. Anyway, Choi Jin-ri won't see it.
He just thought that since he had come here and become good friends with her, he naturally didn't want his friend to have any unhappy things happen to her.
That's it.
As for other wishes?
He thought for a moment, then added gradually below: [Novel's Results are a Huge Success] Little Black Plum is in Good Health] I'm in Excellent Health All Night —
"Have you finished writing?"
Upon hearing this, Li Ran looked up at her and found that Cui Zhenli had already put away the pen cap and folded up the paper with the wish written on it.
"So fast?" He blinked.
"It's because you're too slow."
"What did you write?"
"I won't tell you!" Choi Jin-ri refused quickly.
Li Ran pursed her lips and folded the paper in her hand in half.
"If you don't want to watch it, then don't watch it. You're acting like nobody cares."
"So what do you plan to do after you finish writing it? Burn it?" he asked.
Choi Jin-ri rolled her eyes at him. "You're the one who's going to burn it!"
"I have a garden at home! I'm planning to find a box and put my wish list in it."
"Then bury a hole in the garden and put the box in it."
"Isn't this a time capsule?" Li Ran raised an eyebrow.
"So how long do you plan to keep it? A year? Two years? Or a lifetime?"
Choi Jin-ri shook her head. "It won't take that long."
She thought for a moment, then said, "Five years feels just right."
"Opening this box again five years later will be a very unique experience."
"If we're still friends by then, I plan to show you the wishes I wrote down."
"What do you mean, 'what if we're still friends by then'? What? You want to break up with me?" He rolled his eyes.
That's not what I meant.
"What does that mean?"
"Anyway! I'll put the note inside, and you'll be able to see its contents five years later. You can also choose to put your own note inside. Of course, I won't force you."
"So mysterious." He curled his lip. "Fine, let's release it! Who's afraid of who?"
"What about the box you mentioned? Have you found it?"
"Uh," she blinked.
"No way? You came up with this yourself, and there's not even a box?" Li Ran tilted her head and looked at her.
"Yes, it definitely exists. Let me look for it."
As she spoke, she stood up and disappeared somewhere.
Li Ran rested her chin on her hand, looked at the note in her left palm, and pursed her lips.
"Found it!"
Choi Jin-ri returned quickly.
She was holding a tin box containing tea leaves and a transparent plastic bag.
She first put her note inside, then handed the bag to Li Ran, saying, "Here, put it in to keep it dry."
Li Ran looked at the bag in her hand and raised an eyebrow.
If he really wanted to see what Choi Jin-ri wrote on the note, now was undoubtedly the best opportunity.
However, he chose to follow her rules and put his own note in as well.
It's only five years! He can wait that long!
Besides, it's good to leave Choi Jin-ri with something to look forward to.
He returned the transparent plastic bag to Choi Jin-ri.
Choi Jin-ri took the bag and then put it into the tin box.
Li Ran looked at the metal box, raised an eyebrow, and asked, "What was originally in this box?"
"Oh, it's tea that a friend gave me. There wasn't much left, so I just poured it all out," she said casually, not taking it seriously.
Tsk.
Since it was a gift from Choi Jin-ri's friend, it must not have been cheap.
As a result, she threw away the tea leaves because of the box.
However, to some extent, this better reflects how much Choi Jin-ri values these two notes.
Li Ran regretted not reading the note earlier.
He was so curious.
Choi Jin-ri packed the box, then looked at Lee Ran, raised her chin, and said, "Let's go bury the things."
They changed their shoes and then walked towards the door.
It's getting a bit dark now.
Even though there were streetlights, Li Ran still turned on her phone's flashlight.
"Where to bury it?"
He stood in the garden for a long time, then looked at Choi Jin-ri.
She pursed her lips and pointed to the crape myrtle tree. "Let's bury it next to that tree."
"It's not particularly eye-catching, but it's also memorable."
Li Ran shone a flashlight on it and took a look.
That location does seem quite good.
"Okay." He nodded.
The two walked over and squatted down.
Choi Jin-ri handed him a small shovel; she had one herself.
The two of them squatted down under the tree and started digging.
This soil is quite hard.
Choi Jin-ri dug for a long time, and her wrists were starting to ache.
She shook her hand.
"I told you to exercise more, now you're all weak." Li Ran glanced at her and shook her head.
"Move over a little, I'll dig."
Upon hearing this, Choi Jin-ri, though somewhat resentful, obediently stepped aside.
