Brin stayed in Choi Jin-ri's arms for a while, then began to struggle downwards.

Li Ran turned and went into the kitchen, took a cup, poured a glass of warm water, and placed it on the coffee table.

"Thank you." Lee Ji-eun accepted the gift with both hands and sat down next to Choi Jin-ri.

Afterwards, Li Ran went to the kitchen, not to cook or anything, but mainly to prepare to leave the two of them some private space.

After all, he wasn't familiar with Lee Ji-eun, and he was afraid that staying here would make her feel awkward.

"Have you been busy lately?" Choi Jin-ri pulled Brin out from under the sofa and asked.

"I'm starting filming next week." Lee Ji-eun took a sip of water. "How are you doing here? Are you settling in?"

"I'm used to it." Choi Jin-ri nodded and smiled, "It's better than I imagined."

Lee Ji-eun hummed in response, her gaze inadvertently sweeping towards the kitchen.

Li Ran was inside, tidying up something, making some noise.

She put the cup back on the coffee table and asked in a low voice, "How long have you two known each other?"

Choi Jin-ri thought for a moment, "It should have been about a week, right?"

Lee Ji-eun blinked, picked up her cup, and took another sip.

"Meow~"

Brin broke free from Choi Jin-ri's grasp, jumped onto the sofa, stomped on Lee Ji-eun's legs twice, spun around, and sat down.

Lee Ji-eun looked down at it, reached out and stroked its back. "Looks like it's gotten used to me."

"It's very friendly to people who have fed it," Choi Jin-ri said.

"Hey, little blackie, come here." She waved to little blackie who was lying on the ground in the distance.

Lee Ji-eun looked at it.

"This is the landlord's pet, named Xiao Hei," Choi Jin-ri explained, stroking its head.

She nodded slightly.

She drank half the water in her glass, checked the time, stood up, and said, "I have to go; my assistant is waiting outside."

"So fast." Choi Jin-ri also stood up.

"Yes, I'll be joining the crew next week. I still have some things to take care of these next couple of days."

She gently removed Brin from her lap and straightened her coat.

"Have a great time here. Maybe I'll come over for a few days when I finish my work." Lee Ji-eun smiled and picked up her bag from beside the sofa.

"I'm really looking forward to it!" Choi Jin-ri blinked.

"Didn't you say you were coming alone?"

Lee Ji-eun shook her head. "It's because I don't have a driver's license. I had to have someone drive me here."

"I've been learning this damn driver's license for years and I still don't understand it." She scratched her brow in frustration.

"Hahaha." As someone with a driver's license, Choi Jin-ri's lips curled up slightly.

Choi Jin-ri saw her to the door and waved goodbye.

After a while, Choi Jin-ri returned alone and closed the door.

Brin sat on the edge of the entryway, glanced up at her, then turned around and strode into the living room.

Choi Jin-ri sat down on the sofa and looked to the side.

Brin is gone.

She looked down under the sofa, but there was nothing there. She glanced towards the TV cabinet, but still nothing.

"Here."

Li Ran stood at the kitchen doorway and gestured towards the ground with her lip.

Brin sat on the kitchen threshold, staring at Little Black's food bowl.

Xiao Hei wasn't around, the food bowl was empty, and it just sat there, seemingly looking at something.

"Don't let it eat Xiao Hei's things," Cui Zhenli said.

"The bowl is empty; there's nothing to eat."

"But it needs to recognize its own bowl so it doesn't get mixed up later."

She stood up, walked over, and picked Brin up. "Your bowl is over there."

Brin squirmed in her arms, but couldn't break free, so she gave up.

Li Ran glanced at it and said, "If it's hungry, just give it some food."

"Where's the cat food?"

"Ji-eun brought some over, it's on the sofa."

Li Ran walked over and opened it to take a look. Inside was a bag of cat food, a packet of snacks, and a small can of food.

"How much to feed?"

"Three times a day, this much each time." Choi Jin-ri held Brin in one arm and gestured with the other.

Li Ran took the food bowl, poured in the amount of cat food she had instructed, and placed it on the ground.

Choi Jin-ri put Brin down.

It lowered its head, sniffed it, and started eating.

Little Black appeared out of nowhere and lay down at the kitchen doorway, looking at Brin and then at its own empty food bowl.

"Alright, you get some too." Li Ran glanced down at it and added some dog food for it as well.

Xiao Hei eats the same food as them most of the time, but sometimes when he's too lazy to cook or cooks too little, he'll still be fed dog food.

Li Ran bought several bags and kept them in the kitchen.

He crossed his arms and leaned against the wall, watching them.

The two animals didn't bother each other, both engrossed in their work... eating.

Chew, chew, chew.

The only sounds in the kitchen were the sounds of them engrossed in eating.

Choi Jin-ri stood leaning against the doorframe, watching for a while, and asked, "Is it okay for their food bowls to be so close together?"

"Little Black doesn't steal things. It's not possessive of its food." Li Ran shook her head, then looked at Cui Zhenli, "Where's Brin?"

Choi Jin-ri thought for a moment, "Probably not."

"Should?" He blinked.

"Hmm, I guess so." Her tone was somewhat uncertain.

Li Ran shook her head, sealed the cat food bag, and placed it on the cabinet.

Brin finished eating first.

It raised its head, licked its lips, then walked to Xiao Hei's food bowl and sniffed it.

"Hey!" Choi Jin-ri took a step forward.

Xiao Hei didn't look up; he was still eating with his head down.

Brin circled the bowl halfway around, making sure there was nothing in it more worthwhile than her own, then turned around and walked out of the kitchen.

"Tsk." Li Ran's lips curled up slightly.

Choi Jin-ri pursed her lips.

Little Blackie was the only one left in the kitchen, munching away.

Brin strolled back to the living room, jumped onto the sofa, spun around on it, and then crawled back under the sofa.

"..."

Choi Jin-ri looked in that direction. "Why does it always seem to crawl into that spot?"

"Maybe it's because I'm in a new environment and don't feel safe. I'll feel better after I stay here for a while." Li Ran walked back to the kitchen. "It's okay, nothing's wrong."
