Warhammer: My buddy has too many secrets!

Chapter 35 The Duties of a Battle Leader

To create a qualified Astartes, the modification must begin in childhood, during the stage when the bones are not yet fully formed and the body is still growing, allowing the body to gradually adapt to those superhuman organs.

Once the body is fully formed, any further modifications would be suicidal, but this operating table can eliminate the risks and transform soldiers into space warriors regardless of age.

It should be noted that a steady stream of burly men have emerged within the Empire, and aside from their inferior physical abilities, their combat prowess is in no way inferior to that of Astartes.

Katachon jungle warriors, Kadian world veterans... These planets or regions either have extremely harsh living environments, and those who can survive are all tough men who can ride horses and stand on their own two feet!

The reason they couldn't become Astartes was almost entirely due to the age restrictions for Astartes, or the selection process not being conducted in their respective regions.

With this operating table, wouldn't it mean that as long as I have the gene seed, I can transform these ordinary, strong men into Astartes warriors with even stronger combat power?

After the surgery, no training was required, only a short period of adaptation was needed, which almost meant that Lancelot instantly possessed a powerful Astartes Legion.

However, the creation of this legion requires a sufficient number of gene seeds.

It takes an Astartes warrior 5 to 10 years to develop a gene seed within his body, and all chapters have to pay a blood tax.

Five percent of their gene seeds must be handed over. To obtain a large quantity of gene seeds, it would be best to cultivate them using the original blood from one's own body... or simply use readily available ones.

Lancelot took out the Angel Wings and glanced at them. The enormous wings almost filled the entire room. Theoretically, this thing could not possibly support a Space Marine to fly, but perhaps because it contained the power of Sanctuary, Lancelot could sense that he could probably use these wings to break through to supersonic speeds.

Although he longed to experience the feeling of flying, Lancelot did not want to ruin the friendship he had built with the Weepers, so he could only leave the Angel Wings in the Guardian Space for the time being.

He then set aside the indestructible Lake Light in his hand, walked out of the lounge, and with the help of his servants, Lancelot removed his black armor and put on a brand new, yet unpainted, MK7 Skyhawk power armor.

The black armor he wore before was too conspicuous, so Lancelot naturally couldn't wear it out directly.

The identity of the fallen angel still needs to be hidden.

Only a few high-ranking members of the Weeping Cry group knew that Lancelot, the Dark Angel, was still on their ship; the rest had been brainwashed and had forgotten that they had ever encountered the Black-Armored Warrior.

As Lancelot walked among the ships, he saw many Weeping Warriors wearing brand-new Skyhawk MK 7 power armor in just one day. Some of the warriors had not yet completely painted their silver-white armor bright yellow, so no one noticed anything unusual as Lancelot walked among them.

Previously, the flagship of the Lamenters was in a terrible state, but with the help of ample resources, the entire group of more than 100 people gradually recovered their combat power within a day.

Lancelot went to the flagship's control center and found Commander Malakin, who was processing various galactic messages received by the Star Speakers near the holographic image.

As a chapter leader, Malakin generally does not need to charge into battle, but he is responsible for the entire chapter's whereabouts and various Imperial matters.

The Star Speakers on the flagship receive a large amount of Star Speaker information from the warp every day, and the Chapter Master's task is to identify this information and choose the next path for the Chapter.

As the Astartes Chapter, it possesses immense autonomy, allowing it to choose which battlefield needs it most when the time is right. In today's dark and turbulent galaxy, requests for aid are coming from all directions.

If all the requests for help from the Astral Army's lords and generals, the Empire's lords and commissars, the Imperial Navy, the traveling merchants and wandering warriors, the Inquisition, and others were gathered together, they would fill this flagship within a day. If you really looked at it, you would feel that the Empire was about to be finished.

In reality, most of the requests for help in the Star Language originate from the wishful thinking of some ordinary political commissars who are just trying to get by even if they don't have the means.

The problem they face might be a fortress that would require a huge price for ordinary people, but for Space Marines, it might only take two or three warriors to break through the defenses, penetrate deep inside, and behead the Chaos leader.

Some political commissars, thinking "let's give it a try, what if someone comes?", widely sent out requests in Star Language.

Such situations are commonplace, and as the leader of a battle group, one must use intelligence to determine whether a place truly needs support amidst these mountain of requests.

After all, if they actually sent out their combat brothers, only to find that the battle was already over and the mortals had already breached the fortress, it would definitely be considered a failed command.

However, the current chapter commander of Karakin can ignore many of these tedious official duties.

After all, they have just returned to the real universe from the warp, and the brothers in the chapter need to rest. Moreover, the Weeping Ones are currently trying their best to contact the Ultramarines, White Scars, and Blood Angels.

The Star Language had been distributed, and Karakin simultaneously issued a rallying order to the other Weepers using the Weepers' unique secret language.

Even as an unfortunate chapter cursed to have been formed, the Weeping Chapter still possessed a battle barge, the Storm Maiden, and a dozen or so escort ships. Now that their flagship had left the warp, the other Weeping Chapters should return to the real universe as well…

Commander Malakin was deep in thought when a gentle reminder from the think tank beside him brought him back to his senses. He turned to look at Lancelot behind him, his expression showing the appropriate respect.

"Elder Lancelot, how was your rest?"

For the Astartes, a day spent in the safety of their ships was dedicated to maintaining their weapons, honing their skills, and finally studying the Astartes Codex.

This was already a rare moment of relaxation and rest, but the leader of the Malakin Warband could never have imagined that in what they considered a single day, Lancelot had actually traveled to another world and even acquired a treasure related to Saint Geres that could cure the genetic defects of the Holy Blood Angels!

But how do we bring this up?

Weapons and equipment can be given away for free, but this thing can't be given away for free.

Lancelot pondered. In fact, Lancelot's initial idea was to exchange this thing for some gene seeds from the Weepers, so that he could create a Holy Blood Angel himself using the operating table. Then, with his angel wings, he might even be able to cosplay as Saint Jeremy.

However, Lancelot considered that the Crying Legion was really poor and probably didn't even have many gene seeds, so he suppressed the idea in his mind and prepared to negotiate directly with Commander Dante later.

So Lancelot asked:

"Has anything significant happened in the Empire recently?"

"Something important..." Upon hearing this, the Malakin Warband Commander looked at the holographic projection in front of him, pulled up the map of the galaxy, and then looked at an area that was specially marked and resembled a ferocious eye.

"In terms of severity, the battle near the Eye of Fear is becoming increasingly intense."

"Under the eleventh attack of the Chaos Traitors, the situation is becoming increasingly tense. I'm certain those Chaos Traitors have a bigger plan, otherwise they wouldn't be so reckless. It seems the pressure on the fortress world of Cadia is mounting!"
