Warhammer: My buddy has too many secrets!

Chapter 6 The Lamenters' Warband

The disintegrating force field easily passed through the chitinous carapace, then he drew his sword and sidestepped, letting the corpse pass by. At the same time, the high temperature of the laser rifle in the shadows continued to be emitted, licking the armor on Lancelot's body.

Unfortunately, the mortal weapons these guys could obtain were too weak. Lancelot didn't even care. As the corpses fell to the ground, his sword slashed out diagonally, splitting the second one that followed at shoulder length.

Blood rained down, and crimson lasers formed radiating flowers on his jet-black power armor, but slid down the curved surface of the ceramic without leaving a trace!

Lancelot launched a swift attack, and the third, fourth, and fifth serpents, realizing they could not escape, also pounced simultaneously.

Lancelot took a small step to the left, just enough to avoid the attack, and the next moment his power sword drew a perfect arc in the air.

First, he severed the forearm of the fourth one from bottom to top. In the instant he grabbed the severed limb and flew up, the sword's edge had already pierced the spine of the fifth one with the force of his spin. The sound of bones breaking was like that of wet wood snapping.

Lancelot sheathed his sword, thrust out his left palm, and pressed it against the jaw of the third monster that turned to pounce again.

Its claws lashed out wildly, coming within a centimeter of his helmet, but that centimeter was forever insurmountable, for Lancelot had already smashed its entire head back, exposing its throat. The sword tip pierced, withdrew, and the corpse collapsed at his feet.

It took no more than three seconds.

Six chicken thieves lay dead on the ground. These were probably the first generation of hybrid chicken thieves, but only a small force was lurking here. What was going on?

Lancelot was deep in thought when, at that very moment, the sonic channel finally picked up some intermittent sound, and communication was finally restored to the fleet's central hub.

"All units, please respond! All units, please respond! This is the ship's central command! I am the first mate. Command center is under control, but the captain has already sacrificed himself for the Emperor due to the assassination attempt, and the ship's propulsion system is currently disabled! I need sailors and members of the Mechanics Cult to proceed and repair the ship's propulsion system!"

A message came through the sound channel that the commander of the Gryffindor Death Legion had spoken with him. After listening carefully, Lancelot determined that the other party was indeed a loyalist and then spoke to him personally.

"Report the current situation, mortal."

A special sound array source access channel, with its Astartes-branded certification instantly exhilarated everyone!

"Master, that's wonderful! No wonder the green-skinned orcs' offensive has weakened!"

The delighted voices of the lieutenants came from the sound array channel. Although the Astartes mark that appeared in the Thinker system was unusually ancient and seemed completely out of place with the existing chapter certification, based on some characteristics, the one who appeared here was still a loyal Dark Angel!

In an instant, everyone on the ship felt as if they had found their pillar of support.

In this dark 40k, people worship the God-Emperor, and the appearance of Lancelot, the Emperor's angel, is like a devout believer seeing an angel from a church relief descend to earth to help them in battle!

A large number of messages began to reach Lancelot's ears through the sound array channels that had just returned to normal.

In short, this information means that the previously lost bridge control was due to an internal rebellion. A first officer suddenly led an alien force to kill the captain and attempted to seize control of the warship.

However, due to the Greenskins' sudden change of direction, the rebellion has now been suppressed, and the loyalists have regained control.

Thinking about it this way, it's probably the work of gene thieves.

However, seizing power at this critical juncture, when the orcs are under attack, clearly indicates that the situation is quite dire.

Through the sound array channel, Lancelot learned that the most serious problem facing the Cobra-class frigate was that its propulsion system was experiencing some malfunctions.

If a human ship is unable to move within orc territory, then the ultimate fate of that ship for the warlike orcs is self-evident.

Perhaps the cunning individuals, whose core purpose is to maintain their positions, launched the rebellion simply to seize the escape pods?

A sense of unease welled up in Lancelot's heart. On the territory of the green-skinned orcs, a ship that had lost its engine had only one hope of survival: to receive help from other human fleets.

Is it possible that friendly forces will provide support?

Lancelot felt the possibility was slim.

Even though the warship had sent out a distress signal in interstellar language, their current location was too special, or rather, too dangerous.

If there were something on the ship that needed to be rescued, that would be one thing, but Lancelot had already learned from the political commissar of the Krieg Death Legion that the ship was just an ordinary vessel.

The most precious thing was the ship itself, but when the ship was already damaged, the tens of thousands of ordinary people it carried became a burden.

Mortals are far too cheap for the current empire.

Unless he has the Star Speakers on this ship broadcast his identity as a Fallen Angel, he can attract the Dark Angels to come to his aid immediately.

However, my situation might be a bit dangerous then, so I guess I'll have to put this proposal on hold for later consideration...

Lancelot sped toward the bridge, his superhuman brain constantly searching for a way to break the deadlock even as he swung his sword at lightning speed.

However, Lancelot never harbored any expectations for the bloated and corrupt empire he was in.

Therefore, the only way to save ourselves now is to pray that the technical priests of the Cult of Mechanics can repair the ship and ensure that it will not be attacked by other green-skinned orcs during the repair process.

The chances are slim, but not impossible. It mainly depends on the skill level of the Mechanicus members on board... However, if the situation is truly dire, then we can only place our hopes on the Dark Angels.

Lancelot exhaled a breath of stale air.

But at that very moment, a cry of alarm came from the deputy in the sound array channel.

"Sir! We have received a new message! A nearby Astartes chapter has responded to our request for assistance!"

"What?!"

Lancelot was incredulous upon hearing the news, but a moment later he felt a chill run down his spine.

Could it be the Dark Angels' fleet?!

Could it be that I was already locked onto by those guys the moment I transmigrated here?!

Such a thought flashed through Lancelot's mind, but he still wanted to find out who the other person was.

"Who do they belong to?"

"They call themselves the Lamenters' Chapter!"
