Chapter 105 Forging Weapons
Chapter 105 Forging Weapons
Tony excitedly grabbed Peter's armor and stammered, "It's so—so fucking cool! Kid, you have to give me—no, you go and call Wanda back right now and have her make me a Sunstone too!"
"You should go find her yourself," Peter said. "Wanda has let go of her hatred for the Avengers, but a significant number of the Hydra and warmongers who were actually responsible for her parents' deaths are still alive and well."
Peter gave Tony Wanda his address: "Recruit her into the Avengers, then help her dig out her real enemies one by one. I think she wouldn't mind doing her comrades a little favor."
"What, you want her to debut as a superhero too?"
Peter said, "The main thing is to encourage her to make more friends and not stay home all the time."
Peter sighed: "Wanda's mental state is not stable. Spending more time with friends is always a good thing for her."
Peter looked at the Fantastic Four, a group of top scientists and engineers who were discussing the physical properties of solar dust.
"The atmosphere within the Avengers team is great right now, and it would be best if it could stay this good, so good that it could become Wanda's new home."
"Go out and explore the world with confidence, leave the things at home to me."
Nidavi, the neutron star forge of the dwarven kingdom.
Peter and the others stood on the ring of the dwarf kingdom, beneath which lay a metal structure larger than all the spacecraft on Earth combined.
Each segment of the ring is an independent forging platform, locked in synchronous orbit by the gravity of the neutron star, like a necklace encircling the volcanic core.
At the center of the ring, the neutron star, which is confined by the dwarves using a Dyson sphere, is emitting rhythmic gamma-ray bursts characteristic of pulsars.
It was a cosmic beacon that flashed hundreds of times per second, each flash carrying enough energy to vaporize a planet.
The Dyson Belt intercepts, collects, and distributes energy, part of which powers all the forging facilities on the ring, and part of which is directed to some unknown cosmic project.
There was a continuous, low hum in the air, which was the force field restraint operating at full power.
King Etrigue the Dwarf stood in the very center of the forging platform.
He was over 2.5 meters tall, and his arms were thicker than Peter's waist, but standing in front of the backdrop of the neutron star, he still looked as small as a speck of dust.
In the reception hall of the Star Ring, Thor walked at the front.
The Mjolnir in his hand gleamed with a faint blue light under Nidavellis's force field lights.
"Aitrie!" Thor's voice pierced the rhythm of the neutron star pulsation. "I'm back again!"
Etri stepped forward, knelt down, and gave Thor a warm hug: "Haha, Your Highness, it's been a long time!"
After the two separated, Thor stepped aside.
He pointed to Tony, Peter, and Jarvis: "These are my friends on Earth."
Etri greeted the three: "Since you are His Highness's friends, you must all be great warriors. Thor, why did you suddenly think of your old friend? Is there something you need me to do?"
Thor grabbed Etri's arm and said, "Yes, I need you to forge a weapon for my friend."
"Oh? Tell me about it."
Peter stepped forward and placed the holographic projector on the anvil, where a three-dimensional engineering model of the spear unfolded on the platform.
Ettri looked down at it, then stepped forward and zoomed in on the hologram.
The internal structure of the spear unfolds layer by layer—a dense array of tiny cavities arranged in a precise geometric grid.
Ten seconds later, he looked up: "That's impossible."
"Aitrie," Thor said.
Etri looked at Thor with a "Are you kidding me?" look: "This is a quantum tunneling structure processed inside the material at the Planck scale."
He pointed to the neutron star encased in a Dyson sphere structure outside the ring's atmosphere: "Do you think that thing has the precision required?"
Peter presented the Uru ore: "You just need to melt and refine it, then pour it into molds. As for the final step of sculpting the circuits with neutron star rays, we'll bring our own equipment; we just need to borrow your space."
"Alright, since you are His Highness's friends, I won't charge you for the furnace setup fee or the venue fee."
"No need for that," Peter said, taking out another piece of Uru ore the size of a basketball and tossing it to Etri. "This is for processing fees and venue rental."
Ai Cui accepted the raw ore and laughed heartily, "Then I won't stand on ceremony with you all."
He turned and walked toward the control panel of the forging platform. His enormous hand, capable of lifting a warhammer with one hand, tapped the control panel several times with such force that Tony's eyelids twitched. However, the control panel was clearly used to the dwarf king's rough treatment, and there was not even the slightest delay.
"Open the furnace."
Aetry's voice was transmitted through the communication equipment to the ears of all the dwarven blacksmiths on the Star Ring.
They paused for a second at their respective workstations, and then simultaneously entered a highly synchronized working state that Peter had only seen in top-notch laboratories.
Some people began adjusting the force field confinement device of the Dyson ring, some retrieved the material for the casting mold from the deep storage of the star ring, and some checked whether the rhythmic fluctuations of the neutron star pulses were suitable for today's forging operation.
The low hum in the air suddenly rose half a note, and a slight tremor came from the metal platform underfoot, like a sleeping beast awakening.
The neutron star is beginning to be "peeled apart".
The giant solar panels that make up the Dyson sphere unfold outwards like petals, revealing at its core a celestial body that is only twenty kilometers in diameter but has a mass exceeding that of the sun.
It is spinning at a frequency of hundreds of times per second, releasing gamma-ray bursts into space.
Before those rays leave the inner wall of the Dyson ring, they are captured, diverted, and guided by the energy distribution network on the ring.
One of the beams was directed into the forging furnace in front of Eitel.
It was a giant device, thirty meters tall, shaped like an inverted bell, with its inner walls engraved with runes. Each rune's groove emitted a blinding white light when excited by neutron star rays.
The raw ore from Urumqi was fed into the furnace.
It takes less than a moment for the temperature to rise and the temperature to drop to a molten state.
The half-human-sized ore, under the temperature of hundreds of billions of degrees of neutron star rays, was like an ice cube thrown into boiling water, instantly turning into a flowing golden molten liquid.
The molten steel contains the unique natural patterns of Urumqi steel, which, instead of melting away under high temperatures, become even clearer.
Those are the energy imprints left deep within the atomic nuclei of matter during a supernova explosion, the fundamental reason why Uru Steel can carry magic and energy circuits.
Meanwhile, disregarding the danger, Tony stood at a safe distance from the furnace, witnessing a scene never before seen on Earth: "Jarvis, pre-compile all circuit architectures into instruction sequences, with an error tolerance of zero."
"Ready, sir."
