Chapter 104 Solar Armor

In the laboratory of the Bucks Building, the preheating hum of the material recombination instrument had been going on for ten minutes.

The vibranium confinement magnetic field is arranged in three concentric circles around the cavity, each one taller than a person.

The cooling pipes extend from the main unit to the ceiling and then back down, like giant silver-gray pythons coiled overhead.

On the holographic screen, the synthesis parameters preset by Reed—temperature curves, energy level orbitals, and real-time monitoring windows for 736 metastable conditions—were displayed in a row, with dense streams of data reflected on Peter's retina.

Wanda stood in front of the machine, looking up at it.

"Is this all?" she asked.

"This is it." Peter leaned against the machine, arms crossed.

Reed looked up from the control panel and adjusted his glasses.

He held a data board in his hand, which was covered with molecular synthesis flowcharts that he had compiled overnight.

"Miss Wanda, before we begin, I need to explain the process to you." Reed cleared his throat and turned to the first page of the data panel. "The raw materials will be heated to a plasma state inside the cavity, at a temperature of approximately 3,500 Kelvin."

Then, the vibranium confinement magnetic field compresses the particle stream into designated energy level orbitals. This stage requires precise control of the synchronous collapse of 736 metastable conditions. In the final stage of collapse, the deviation tolerance for each condition is on the femtosecond scale.

In other words, if any one of these conditions deviates by more than one femtosecond, the entire crystal structure will —”

"No need," Wanda said.

Reed's words trailed off; he paused, then asked, "What? You don't need it?"

"Don't tell me all that," Wanda interrupted him, her tone flat. "Let's get started."

“But I don’t understand,” Reed frowned, his finger still pointing to a key parameter on page seven of the data panel, “If you don’t understand the distribution and tolerance range of these metastable conditions, how do you know when to apply corrections? Magic can indeed alter reality, but the prerequisite for alteration is that you need to know what you want to alter. Logically speaking—”

"Reed," Peter began.

Reed turned to look at him.

"Magic doesn't follow logic, so you don't have a talent for magic."

Reed was silent for a moment, then shook his head with a helpless smile.

He put down the data panel, walked to the control panel, and without asking any more questions, pressed the start button.

The moment the machine started up, all the lights in the entire laboratory went out for a brief moment.

The temperature inside the material recombination instrument rises to thousands of degrees in nanoseconds, and the raw materials are bombarded into a plasma state in a confined magnetic field.

The cavity was filled with dazzling white light, and countless particles began to move along preset orbits under the guidance of the magnetic field.

On the holographic screen, 736 monitoring windows simultaneously lit up with green standby signals, and the data stream began to scroll at a speed imperceptible to the human eye.

Wanda closed her eyes, and the crimson light of chaotic magic spread from her body, enveloping her silhouette like a thin layer of red mist.

She placed her right palm on the machine's casing, and the moment her fingertips touched the metal, a crimson mist of light seeped into the cavity through the gaps in the vibranium-constrained magnetic field coils.

The particles colliding at femtosecond speeds appeared to slow down in her eyes.

She "saw" the trajectory of every particle, every possible path, and every fork that arose from a collision.

These branches piled up in layers, like an infinitely growing tree with a canopy that blocks out the sun, and each leaf representing an ending.

Some leaves will form the correct lattice structure, some will collapse into waste in the next second, and some will release enough energy to destroy the entire laboratory in a collision.

All these possibilities exist simultaneously, occur simultaneously, and await collapse simultaneously.

Of the 736 metastable conditions, Reed's data panel precisely marks the location, threshold, and tolerance range of each one.

But Wanda didn't look at the data panel.

She doesn't need to know the specifics of those 736 conditions.

Chaos magic is not an algorithm, not a corrector; it is scissors—it doesn't understand every leaf on the probability tree, it only cuts off all branches leading to failure.

Wanda raised her other hand, which was burning with crimson flames, and gently clenched her five fingers in the air.

Crimson flames licked across every branch of the probability tree simultaneously.

Those branches that lead to failure, deviation, collapse into waste, and release destructive energy are ignited in the same instant.

The flames are silent yet intense, burning all possibilities to ashes on the quantum scale; countless "possibilities" are pronounced dead before they even come into being.

There is only one path left.

From particle state to crystal structure, from chaos to order, from 736 "ifs" to one "certainty".

The white light inside the cavity gradually dissipated.

The loop coils that confined the magnetic field were extinguished one by one, and the constant sound of liquid nitrogen flowing through the cooling pipes resumed.

A fist-sized, deep red crystal floated silently in the center of the magnetic field, its interior flowing with a kind of almost liquid red glow, like a frozen sunset.

Sunstone crystal.

On the holographic screen, all 736 monitoring windows turned green simultaneously.

Wanda opened her eyes and withdrew her hand from the machine's casing.

The light of the chaotic magic faded from her body, her breathing became slightly heavier than usual, and a thin layer of sweat appeared on her forehead.

She raised the back of her hand to wipe her forehead, then turned to look at Peter: "It's done."

Peter walked over from the lab bench: "Thank you for your hard work."

He reached out to grab Wanda's shoulder, but she gently dodged him.

"Is there anything else I can do for you? If not, I'll be going now. You can continue with your work."

Peter pleaded, "Can't you stay with me a little longer?"

"No." Before Peter could try to persuade her to stay, Wanda opened a portal and left the Bucks Tower.

Tony walked over and put his hand on Peter's shoulder: "Stop thinking about your little girlfriend. First, think about what price you're willing to pay to keep your dad Tony's secret."

Peter remotely retrieved the sunstone crystal from inside the machine's magnetic field: "You'll get priority when we make the next batch."

Tony curled his lip: "I already have the Extremis armor, so I don't care."

Peter raised his hand to push Tony's arm off his shoulder, then lifted the Sunstone.

The crimson crystal in his hand began to tremble.

Crimson light diffused from within the crystal, peeling away layer by layer from the crystal's boundaries, transforming the hard edges into a soft halo.

The crystals began to disintegrate, turning into countless reddish dust particles.

They floated up from the crystal surface, hovered in mid-air for a moment, and then merged into a stream composed of countless points of light.

Dust of the Sun.

They surged down from mid-air, first covering Peter's shoulders, then flowing down his arms to his fingertips, dripping from his fingertips onto the floor, splashing up silent red ripples.

Peter closed his eyes.

Under his control, solar dust clung to his body.

A giant red spider woven from the dust of the sun appeared in the center of Peter's chest.

Its eight spider legs radiate from the sternum to both sides, with their tips extending to the outside of the ribs.

Silver scales formed around the spider, covering Peter's clothes piece by piece, from his chest to his back and limbs, and then a helmet covered Peter's head.

The cloak was the last thing to be formed.

Once all the armor plates were assembled, the remaining solar dust surged out from the seams of the armor plates, converging behind him to form a flowing curtain of light.

The cloak's base is crimson nanocrystals, but countless extremely fine golden threads are woven and flowing on its surface.

That is the spontaneous glow effect generated after the energy imprints inside the molecular framework of the sunstone are activated, like coronal mass ejected from the surface of a star and meandering under the guidance of magnetic field lines.

The upper part of the cape is fixed to the rear edge of the shoulder armor. The crystal density is highest near the fixing point and gradually decreases towards the edge. The thickness at the very end has dropped to the micrometer level. When it floats in the air, it is almost impossible to see the solid texture. It looks more like a solidified aurora.

Peter opened his eyes.
