American comic book: Absolute Spider-Man
Chapter 27 Peter's First Battle
The operation began.
Gwen was tasked with storming in from the front to draw the guards to the manor, while Peter and Tony took the opportunity to sneak in and search for Killian, the Mandarin, and Pepper, who might be imprisoned.
Tony was a little worried that Gwen might be under too much pressure facing the Extremis alone, but Peter said there was no need to worry at all.
The explosive power of soldiers in dire situations is at most three or four tons, and their dynamic vision and nerve reflex speed are only slightly higher than those of ordinary people.
And what about Gwen?
A normal force of ten tons can reach a peak of fifteen tons under explosive conditions. Overturning cars, tearing apart alloys, and punching through concrete are all easy feats.
Add to that her superhuman senses, speed, and spider-sense that allows her to anticipate danger through the web of fate, and it would be impossible for any bullet to even glancing at her unless dozens of submachine guns were fired at her simultaneously.
Peter's only concern was that Gwen would be surrounded by Extremis soldiers with regenerative abilities, who would smash her to pieces like a watermelon if conventional attacks failed.
"Bang!" Gwen punched the manor's cast-iron gate flying. "Drop your weapons, you're surrounded."
Upon seeing this, several guards inside the manor immediately drew their pistols and aimed them at Gwen.
"Pfft~" Gwen shot out several strands of spider silk at a speed imperceptible to the naked eye, sticking the guards' hands and guns together.
They tried to break the spider silk, but found that they couldn't pull it apart with their strength.
Upon seeing this, the guards' palms began to turn red and emitted an astonishingly high temperature.
The spider silk that stuck to their palms developed a glazed sheen under high temperatures, but did not undergo severe deformation or brittleness.
Even though the pistols stuck to their hands had turned into molten iron and the bullets inside had exploded one by one under the high temperature, they still couldn't break free from their restraints.
"The manor has been attacked by unidentified individuals, suspected to be Spider-Woman from New York. The target has the ability to shoot heat-resistant webs. Requesting backup. Bring heavy weapons."
The guards present all turned red and charged towards Gwen.
They planned to use their own high temperatures as weapons to kill Gwen in hand-to-hand combat.
Gwen didn't tolerate them. She shot out several more strands of spider silk, binding the group together, while Gwen held the other end in her hand.
Then, she swung her spider silk, and the Extremis soldiers bound by it were instantly flung into the air like rag dolls, crashing together in mid-air. With a downward swing of Gwen's arm, they were slammed to the ground by the force and knocked unconscious.
The remaining guards inside the manor building had assembled and rushed out of the building's gates, armed with rifles and cannons.
Gwen grabbed a concrete pillar supporting the building with both hands, pulled hard, and yanked the entire pillar out, then threw it at the guards.
With a swing of her arm, she hurled the thick stone pillar at the guards with a whooshing sound.
"boom--!!"
The stone pillar swept across like a giant bowling ball, and the soldiers of the Desperate States had no time to react. They were sent flying backward and crashed heavily into the wall, which instantly dented and cracked, sending rubble and dust flying everywhere.
She approached the unconscious guards and continuously fired spider silk at them, firmly binding them to the ground.
Gwen's senses precisely detected the change in mass within the web launcher. She took out two new web capsules from her waist pocket and replaced the nearly empty web capsules in her wrist launcher.
In just over a minute, Gwen had dealt with most of the fighting force in the manor.
……
Inside the manor, Peter and Tony found a laboratory where they met its owner, Maya Hansen.
Tony is confronting Maya.
"So, you're working for Killian?" Tony demanded angrily.
“Yes,” Maya said beside the experimental equipment, “a lot has happened, Tony, but all of that will pass. The Ultimate Creature is stable…”
"It's completely unstable!" Tony roared. "I saw it on the street, those guys exploded and smeared the blood of passersby all over the walls."
"Maya, you're fooling yourself."
Maya took out a tattered piece of paper. It was a draft formula that Tony had casually written for Maya the day after their one-night stand 13 years ago. It was the prototype formula for the Extremis virus that he had helped Maya complete.
"Then help me finish it."
Tony stared at the familiar handwriting, then paused, "Did I write this?"
Clearly, Tony had forgotten about it.
Maya's face betrayed her disappointment: "Yes."
Tony said awkwardly, "I only remember what happened that night; I've completely forgotten what happened the next day. Is this all you've ever wanted in life?"
"Have you forgotten?" Maya asked, her eyes filled with tears as she looked at the only man in her life.
Although she had anticipated Tony's character flaws, Maya still felt disappointed and saddened to learn that she had left no impression on him other than physical intimacy.
"I can't help you."
Tony looked at Maya, who was helping Killian do evil, and was equally disappointed.
"You used to be full of justice and morality; you were once idealistic and eager to help others. Look at you now..."
Tony thought of Pepper: "Now, every morning when I wake up, I find that the woman who is with me still has a warm heart."
Hearing Tony's words, Maya felt both ashamed and moved.
She wasn't a crazy, ambitious person like Killian. She worked for Killian purely because the development of the Extremis virus required a lot of money and resources.
She is a pure idealist whose purpose in developing the Extremis Virus is to heal all those in the world who are troubled by disability.
Killian's actions are becoming increasingly outrageous. Would continuing to work for him contradict one's ideals?
"Come with me, Maya, stop working for this lunatic." Tony saw the struggle in Maya's heart and said to her tenderly.
"Let's work together to perfect the Extremis virus, put it on the right track, and benefit the world."
Just as Maya was about to agree, a voice rang out.
"Good idea, but unfortunately none of you will be able to leave," Killian interrupted the two.
Just now, Killian, who had been staying in the manor, saw Spider-Woman break into the manor through the surveillance cameras, and also saw Tony and Peter in the laboratory.
After confirming that all the forces in the manor combined couldn't defeat Spider-Woman, he devised a plan.
He arrived at the lab with several Extremis soldiers, intending to kidnap Tony, who wasn't wearing his armor, before Spider-Woman arrived.
"Arrest them all," Killian ordered his men.
"Nobody is allowed to come any closer!" Maya shouted.
She held a syringe containing a highly toxic substance in her hand: "Let them go!"
"What are you doing?" Killian asked, puzzled.
She held the syringe to her own neck: "Killian, if I die, what will happen to your soldiers? What will happen to your products?"
"Please don't do this, okay?" Kirian reassured him.
"What will happen to you? If you overheat, who else can help you besides me?" Maya continued to threaten.
Killian took an angry breath and then turned his gaze to Tony.
"Bang!" He suddenly pulled out a pistol and shot Maya in the chest.
Maya stared at him in disbelief, then collapsed helplessly.
"Grab them and take them away immediately."
As Killian finished speaking, several Extremis soldiers walked towards Peter and Tony.
Peter handed Tony a bottle of hemostatic gel spray: "Go check on Maya's injuries. I'll take care of these men."
Then, he stepped forward, his fingertips radiating a magical glow.
He began to cast a spell, and a shield made of golden white magical energy and a sword of the same color appeared in his left and right hands respectively.
The Ring of Laggardor!
The Sword of Vishanti!
Seeing that the newcomer was no ordinary person, the soldiers of the Desperate Situation were all engulfed in red flames.
The leader threw a punch, but the immense force was blocked by the Raghadore Ring on Peter's left hand, which was extremely defensive and could absorb kinetic energy.
Before the soldier from the Desperate Situation could make any further move, Peter swung the Vishanti sword with his right hand, and a head flew into the sky.
