American comic book: Absolute Spider-Man

Chapter 48 That despicable Green Goblin, how dare he impersonate my Uncle Norman!

The wind blowing from the Rockefeller observation deck carried the chill of an early spring night, but the two people's bodies and hearts burned ever hotter in the wind.

Peter's hand, which had been obediently placed on Gwen's side, was now groping around somewhere, even he himself didn't know where to go.

Gwen responded to Peter's increasingly skilled and breathtaking kisses, a fine tremor spreading across the skin beneath her clothes as his hands brushed against her.

She gently placed one hand on the back of Peter's head, while her other hand gripped the edge of the concrete eaves tightly.

"Mmm~" Their lips met, silencing the girl's soft moan, making it sound more like a sob. "Mmm!"

The sensation of a hand touching her chest through her clothes, even if not offensive, startled the inexperienced girl.

"Snap!"

Gwen was holding onto a piece of the concrete eaves, which she broke off by force.

The fragments slipped through her fingers and fell hundreds of meters into the night sky without making a sound.

The sudden noise startled them awake from their drowsiness, and their lips parted.

She looked down at the cement fragments in her hand, then at Peter.

Peter glanced at the cement scraps in Gwen's hand, then his attention shifted to Gwen's other hand, which was still resting on the back of her head.

If Gwen had used that hand too...

Peter swallowed hard.

Tony, you're right. With Gwen's physique, I'm afraid I won't be able to enjoy my sex life unless I do something really intense.

Gwen looked at Peter with shame, feeling that she had done a terrible job because she had frightened him.

"I'm sorry... I think I messed up."

Peter concealed the fear in his eyes, gently pulled Gwen into his arms, and said in a relaxed tone, "I'm the one who should apologize. If I were as strong as you, I wouldn't have made you worry about this kind of thing."

"Then I forgive you." Gwen rested her head on Peter's shoulder.

Just then, an extremely faint scream pierced through the night sky, reaching Gwen's ears.

Gwen turned her head toward the direction from which the sound came—the top-floor office of the Osborne Tower, which also stands in Manhattan, several hundred meters away.

Gwen pointed to the source of the sound: "Screams are coming from Uncle Norman's office, Peter, open a portal!"

Hearing Gwen's words, an extremely unsettling suspicion began to surface in Peter's mind.

He reached into his coat pocket, took out the hanging ring, and put it on his finger.

Golden sparks exploded in the night sky as a portal tore through the Manhattan night, leading to the rooftop corridor of the Osborne Tower.

They passed through the portal, and sparks closed behind them.

The corridor was long, lined with glass walls and oak doors, the lights flickering on and off. Gwen walked ahead, her body slightly slumped. Peter followed behind her.

A scream came from the office at the end of the corridor. The door was ajar, and Gwen kicked it open.

The office was large, and three people were lying on the floor—two men in suits and a woman in a white coat.

They are not dead yet, but they are not far from death.

Standing in the middle of them was Norman Osborn, dressed in a dark green tactical uniform, his skin having an unhealthy green tinge.

He was holding a man by the neck in one hand and an arm that had just been torn off the man in the other.

Blood gushed from the man's severed arm, and he could only let out weak screams.

"Uncle Norman," Peter's voice rang out, "put him down."

Norman turned his head, his eyes behind his goggles first showing confusion, then surprise, and finally a twisted joy: "Peter? You're here? Can you see? I've completed my evolution, I have greater power."

"You're a murderer," Peter said, taking a step forward. "And what power do you have with your pathetic strength?"

Norman tilted his head. "Oh? Is it ridiculous?"

Then a twisted laugh burst from his mouth: "Hahaha, is it funny? Peter, you're such a disobedient child, and disobedient children need to be disciplined."

Norman dropped the man he was holding and charged at Peter.

He raised his hand, aiming for Peter's face. The slap wasn't heavy, but if it landed, it would be enough to make the disobedient child suffer for a while.

Gwen stepped in front of Peter and caught Norman's arm as it was about to fall.

"What are you doing, Uncle Norman!" Gwen asked in a deep voice, feeling the force in Norman's hand that was enough to crack bones.

Norman looked at her for two seconds, as if he had thought of something, then laughed: "Gwen, you really surprised me. Such powerful strength...you're the Spider-Woman who swings around New York all day, aren't you?"

Gwen did not deny it; she reached out her other hand to Norman, trying to restrain him.

Norman reacted quickly, pulling back the arm that Gwen had grabbed, dodging Gwen's outstretched hand, and throwing a punch at Gwen.

Gwen gripped Norman's fist and twisted the stubborn hand little by little with all her might.

Norman, unable to gain the upper hand in the sparring, swung his other hand at Gwen, who dodged and punched Norman in the face.

The two then began to fight.

Norman had only recently gained his powers and was not used to fighting with such physical abilities. His full-force punches and kicks often caused him to stumble.

Gwen has been in the game for several months and her mastery of power far surpasses Norman's.

If Gwen hadn't been so focused on subduing Norman, she would have punched him in the head with all her might, knocking him unconscious, or perhaps even killing him.

Gwen punched Norman in the stomach, sending him flying into the oak desk.

Norman clutched his stomach and pulled a pumpkin bomb from his belt: "You know what, I didn't want to kill you. Peter likes you, and I didn't want to hurt him, but you shouldn't have come tonight."

He threw the bomb.

Almost simultaneously, Gwen shot out a web, which caught the bomb and flung it out the window. The explosion erupted hundreds of meters in the air, illuminating the entire office in flames.

Norman climbed off his desk and looked at Peter: "Peter, you actually had your little girl beat up this old man's phone! You've really broken Uncle Norman's heart."

"That damned Green Goblin, how dare he impersonate my Uncle Norman!" Peter charged at Norman, intending to unleash Norman's or the Green Goblin's spirit and subdue him.

Norman, or rather the Green Goblin, didn't know what Peter was up to, but judging from his eyes and tone, it wasn't anything good.

Since we can't beat Gwen, we might as well just run away.

He turned and rushed out of the shattered window, his skateboard flying towards him and catching him. A burst of flame followed, carrying him away into the night.

Gwen ran to the window: "He ran away."

Peter opened a portal, and on the other side of the portal was the storage compartment for the Iron Spider armors inside the base.

Gwen waved to the armor, and the storage compartment door opened.

The various components of the armor ejected from the transparent case, passed through the portal, and the black and white painted metal armor enveloped Gwen's body, with the Arc Reactor on her chest glowing blue.

Gwen leaped out of the window, her armor's thrusters blasting flames as she hurtled toward the direction where Green Goblin had disappeared.
