"Can't what?" Queen sneered. "Orochi, get this straight. The Beasts Pirates cooperated with you because you could stabilize the situation in Wano Country and keep those lowly people from causing trouble. Now that you can't stabilize it, and someone else can, why should we help you?"

The giant snake opened its mouth, making gurgling sounds in its throat, but could not utter a word.

"Alright, alright, stop bothering me, there's a banquet going on here." Quinn yawned. "You can figure it out yourself. Oh, and don't call again, I'm busy."

"Hey, guys, are you ready? The banquet is about to begin! Tell me, who's your favorite boss?"

"Quinn, Quinn!"

"Wait, wait a minute! Lord Quinn! Quinn—"

"Kachcha".

The Den Den Mushi was disconnected.

The giant snake slumped to the ground, staring at the Den Den Mushi with its eyes closed, its face ashen.

He got it.

He was abandoned.

From the very beginning, the Beasts Pirates never truly considered him an ally. They simply needed an obedient puppet, a lackey to exploit Wano Country and keep the common people from rebelling. Now, Kyoshiro was doing a better job, more sensible, and more to the liking of the pirates, so he became a discarded pawn.

The giant snake's body began to tremble.

Footsteps could be heard outside the door.

His body froze; he wanted to escape.

But those samurai who once bowed and scraped before him are now his jailers. He once tried to escape, but as soon as he rushed out of the inner chamber, the guard at the door slashed his ankle with a knife. The sound of the blade cutting into bone, the excruciating pain, the blood, and his scream as he fell to the ground.

The guard looked down at him, his eyes no longer showing any fear, only naked hatred.

"General, please stay put, or next time it won't be your foot that gets chopped off."

From then on, the giant snake never dared to step out of that door again.

He could only huddle here, like a mouse locked in a cage, waiting for his fate to be sealed.

The footsteps grew closer.

More than one person.

The serpent's heart nearly leaped out of his throat. He struggled to shrink into the corner, the hem of his kimono soaked with sweat and clinging to his skin. His eyes were fixed on the doorway, his pupils contracted to pinpoints.

The paper door was pulled open.

Three figures stood outside the door, backlit.

Leading the way was a young man with black hair and black eyes, and an indifferent expression. A knife hung at his waist, and the cloth strips wrapped around the hilt were soaked with sweat, indicating that he had just practiced swordsmanship.

Following behind him was Kyoshiro.

The man who had once groveled before him now wore an undisguised look of smug satisfaction, and looked at the giant snake as if it were a mouse trapped in a cage.

Standing next to Kyoshiro was a person.

The giant snake paused for a moment.

It's a woman.

Young and beautiful, dressed in a simple kimono, her hair tied up high, revealing a cold face, her eyes filled with anger and hatred!

"You..." the giant snake's voice was hoarse and almost incoherent, "You all..."

Nock entered the inner room and looked around. The room was still luxuriously furnished, but it was covered in dust.

The gaze fell on the giant snake—this once arrogant creature was now curled up in a corner like a pile of rotten flesh, his kimono stained with dried blood, and his left ankle was empty, with only a hideous wound remaining.

"What's wrong with your foot?" Nock asked.

Kyoshiro chuckled. "He tried to run away, but the guards slashed him."

The giant snake's body trembled violently.

He recognized the woman beside Kyoshiro—that face, that expression, and the hatred in her eyes...

"Kozuki..." he managed to squeeze out a broken sound, "Kozuki's bastard child..."

Hiyori didn't say anything.

She simply stood there quietly, looking at the man before her, the man who killed her father, the man who drove her mother to her death, the man who plunged Wano Country into hell.

Sixteen years have passed.

She had seen this face countless times in her nightmares, imagined this moment countless times, and asked herself countless times what she would say and do when she finally stood in front of him.

Now, she can't say anything.

Because words have lost their meaning.

Nock turned to the side, making room for Hiyori.

Kyoshiro stepped back and stood guard at the door.

The giant snake finally realized what was happening. Its body trembled violently, and its face twisted with fear. It tried to run, but its crippled legs forced it to crawl futilely on the ground, like a severed worm.

"No...no...don't kill me!" His voice was shrill and piercing. "I am the Shogun of Wano Country! I am Kaido's ally! You can't—"

Hiyori took a step forward.

The snake's voice abruptly stopped.

A flash of sword light.

His head flew up, spun twice in the air, and landed heavily on the ground. His eyes were still open, his mouth was agape, and his expression was frozen in a moment of fear and disbelief.

Blood gushed out, staining the tatami mats red.

Hiyori sheathed her sword, turned, and walked away. Her steps were steady, her face devoid of tears or a smile.

She stopped as she passed by Nock.

"Thank you, Lord Nock."

The sound was soft, but clear.

Nock nodded without saying anything.

Hiyori continued walking out. Kyoshiro watched her departing figure, then glanced at the corpse on the ground, and the smile on his face gradually faded.

Blood was still spreading on the tatami mat. Hiyori's figure had already disappeared outside the door. Kyoshiro looked at the head rolling on the ground, and a smile slowly spread across his lips—sixteen years of forbearance, sixteen years of pretense, sixteen years of waiting, all came to a close at this moment.

He turned around, ready to leave.

Just then.

Nock reached out and stopped him.

Kyoshiro was taken aback and looked at Nok.

"Wait a minute," Nock said.

Kyoshiro followed his gaze and saw that the head on the ground still had its eyes open and its mouth agape, just as it had been before.

"What's wrong?" Kyoshiro asked.

Nock did not answer.

He slowly drew the knife from his waist, the tip pointing at the head.

"Get up," he said. "Stop pretending."

Kyoshiro's pupils suddenly contracted.

The head on the ground remained motionless.

Nock sighed and pushed the knife forward, almost piercing the head's eyeball.

"The Eight-Headed Serpent Fruit, eight lives." His voice was calm. "You think I don't know?"

A deathly silence.

Then--

The head's eyes moved.

It rolled its eyes, looking at Nok, then at Kyoshiro, its expression shifting from stiffness to terror, and then to twisted despair.

"You...how could you..."

The snake's voice squeezed out from its throat, sharp and trembling.

Then, the headless body began to move. It struggled to get up, its movements comical and bizarre. At the severed neck, flesh and blood were writhing, and new tissue was growing, like some disgusting reptile repairing itself.

Kyoshiro's eyes widened.
