Chapter 68 The Trouble with Hop Hing, A Murderous Intent Arises

Taking advantage of the fact that no one was upstairs, Lin Long took out two antique porcelain pieces from his system space and examined them carefully.

These two treasures include a Qing Dynasty Yongzheng period lemon-yellow glazed water chestnut vase.

The other piece is a Qing Dynasty Qianlong period famille rose and gilt-decorated "Longevity Without End" bowl.

He refreshed the Golden Eye System in the twelfth week and even brushed up on his knowledge of antique appraisal. Now, even without the system's abilities, he has already mastered that knowledge.

He first examined the water chestnut-shaped bottle. This type of vessel was first fired during the Kangxi period, and by the Yongzheng period, the craftsmanship of the official kilns had reached perfection.

The lemon-yellow glaze applied to the bottle is an innovative variety created during the reign of Tang Ying, the supervisor of the imperial kilns during the Yongzheng period. It is referred to as "Western Yellow" in Qing Dynasty documents.

The bottle has a wide mouth and constricted neck, flat shoulders and a flat belly, and a well-proportioned ring foot. Its shape resembles a water chestnut, hence the name.

The glaze is pure and delicate, bright yet understated, with a glossy and moist surface that subtly reveals a warm, jade-like texture, showcasing an elegant and luxurious appearance.

The bottom of the bottle is subtly engraved with a six-character seal script mark in three lines, dated to the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty. The strokes are neat and the glaze is authentic, making it an unmistakably genuine piece. Its market price easily exceeds ten million.

The other is the "Longevity Bowl". The phrase "Longevity Bowl" first appeared in the Book of Songs, Minor Odes of the Kingdom, and was originally a phrase to wish the emperor a long life. Since the Kangxi period, it has been introduced into ceramic decoration and has become an exclusive auspicious symbol for imperial porcelain used on the Emperor's birthday.

The bowl is decorated with four symmetrical red openwork panels, each containing the four characters "万寿无疆" (longevity without end) written in red. The panels are adorned with intertwined ribbons and auspicious cloud patterns, symbolizing continuous blessings and longevity.

The center of the bowl is decorated with a pattern of five bats surrounding a longevity symbol, while the area near the foot is adorned with a green-colored wave and cliff pattern, exuding an imperial aura.

The bowl bears the inscription "Made in the Qianlong Reign of the Great Qing Dynasty" on its base. The strokes are clear and powerful, making it a genuine Qianlong imperial kiln piece. In addition, its condition is excellent and undamaged, so its estimated value is around five million.

The two antiques together are worth a total of fifteen million.

Lin Long is not short of money at all. He previously defrauded Dai Fuqiang of a large sum of money, which is still lying in the system space.

They also took three million Hong Kong dollars from the scene, plus 11.7 million Hong Kong dollars in cash found under the hotel bed.

The total amount is as high as HK$112.2 million.

This money is enough for him to buy another villa, Sky High.

Since he had plenty of money, he decided to keep the two antiques as part of his collection.

My newly purchased villa, Tianbigao, is lacking some high-end decorative items, and these two pieces of official kiln porcelain are perfect as decorations.

Moreover, those antique dealers have already been caught and arrested. According to the system's ability to identify stolen goods, no one knows where these two stolen items came from, so he doesn't have to worry about anyone seeing these two treasures and coming to cause trouble.

Lin Long was in a good mood and made a phone call to invite the owner of Sister Ling's Tea Restaurant over.

He then called the owner of the Jazz Garden apartments, who was overseas, intending to take advantage of his financial situation to buy the shop and the three apartments together.

Given current property prices, now is a very worthwhile time to buy, whether for investment or personal use.

The owner of the tea restaurant lived nearby and arrived at the shop in just a few minutes.

After some negotiation, the two finalized the deal at HK$2.4 million.

The two parties signed the contract on the spot, and Lin Long paid the full amount in cash.

Luo Huiling then went with the homeowner to complete the transfer of ownership, and Lin Long registered the shop under her name.

The owner of the Jazz Garden is far away overseas. When he heard that Lin Long wanted to buy three houses in full, he immediately entrusted his sister on Hong Kong Island to handle the formalities on his behalf.

The two agreed on the price over the phone: HK$9.5 million for the three houses, which Lin Long paid in full in cash.

After signing the contract, the two apartments were transferred to Fang Fang and Fang Ting's names, while the one Lin Long lived in was registered under Fang Min's name.

Since Fang Min is still a minor, Luo Huiling will handle the procedures on her behalf as her guardian, and the name will be officially transferred after she comes of age.

After completing these two transactions, Lin Long spent a total of HK$11.9 million.

For someone like him who has over 100 million in cash, it was just a small fraction of what he spent.

The women from the tea restaurant all went to complete the formalities, so one of the three kitchen staff members temporarily took charge of greeting customers in the front of the restaurant.

Just then, a group of thugs burst through the door, and the leader shouted into the store, "Who's the boss? Come out here!"

"Brother, our boss is out. Just tell me if you need anything." Thomas greeted him with a smile.

Lin Long was on the second floor at the moment, but Thomas and the others knew that Lin Long did not like to show his face in public as the owner of Sister Ling's Tea Restaurant, so he lied and said that the owner was not here.

"Listen up, starting today, this shop will pay eight thousand dollars in protection money every month," the leader of the thugs with the buzz cut shouted. "I'll collect the money tomorrow. If you can't come up with the money, don't blame me for being ruthless!"

"Brother, this shop is backed by Baldy and Big Eyepatch," Thomas said, bringing up the big boss behind him.

"Now, Brother Nan calls the shots in Temple Street!" The leader glared at him. "Remember this, I'll call Brother over, and have the money ready tomorrow!"

After saying that, Brother Lai called to his men, turned around, and strode away.

Thomas's face instantly darkened, and he hurried upstairs: "Boss, they want eight thousand dollars in protection money, what do we do?"

"It's alright, just go about your business. I'll handle this." Lin Long said calmly, "When Sister Ling and the others come back later, don't say anything."

"I understand, boss."

Lin Long got up and went downstairs, leaving Sister Ling's Tea Restaurant directly.

My good mood from just now has been completely ruined.

He got into the car and made a phone call to the bald man first.

"Hey, Ah Long," came the bald voice from the other end of the phone.

"Uncle Baldy, I heard that the territory of Wo Hop Hing in Temple Street is now under the control of Hung Nam?"

"That Hong Wen doesn't follow the rules. Da Yan and I both objected, but it was no use." The bald man's tone was helpless. "What, did he cause you trouble?"

"Not yet," Lin Long said calmly.

"You'd better be careful. That guy is ruthless, only cares about money, and is extremely vicious," the bald man warned, expressing his dissatisfaction with the Hong brothers, Hong Wen and Hong Nan.

"Is that so?" A cold smile curled at the corner of Lin Long's lips.

He'd been out in the game for so long, and he'd never met anyone more ruthless than himself.

After hanging up the phone, Lin Long immediately dialed Fei Xiang's number.

"Ah Long? Is there some good stuff to sell again?" On the other end of the phone, Fei Xiang, with his huge, round belly, spoke with a familiar tone.

The two had done several transactions, and Lin Long always sold high-quality items, making him a valued customer of Fei Xiang.

Therefore, Fei Xiang was very enthusiastic towards Lin Long.

"There are definitely some good things here. Are you free now?"

"I might not give face to others, but I'll definitely have time for your invitation, Ah Long!" Fatty Xiang laughed heartily.

'

Come to Oobi Restaurant, I'll be waiting for you here.

"it is good."

Lin Long hung up the phone, started the car, and headed straight for the Auby Restaurant in Kowloon Tong.
