Fanatics of the Magic Academy

Chapter 13 [Air Compression]

After listening to Kenneth's explanation, Rose had a general understanding of the magician system.

Furthermore, it aligns with its own belief system, resolving some doubts.

It can only be said that he truly deserves to be called the top magician in the past.

Seeing that Rose had quieted down and fallen into deep thought, Kenneth's tone revealed a hint of smugness:

"Sigh, what a pity. The magic I specially chose for someone was rejected. No good deed goes unpunished!"

Rose immediately put her hands together and said:

"I'm sorry, Mr. Kenneth, I was wrong before. Please teach me."

I'm still sorry, sir, I didn't recognize you before.

The way they climbed in front and behind was quite amusing.

Kenneth didn't waste any more words. He crawled into the tent and took out a tattered notebook and a cheap ballpoint pen.

Rose was somewhat surprised:

"Mr. Kenneth, do you still keep one of these?"

Kenneth glanced at Rose and said:

"No, this was a reading event for homeless people in the nearby community, supposedly to enrich their spiritual lives."

I just went and got it for no reason. Why not take it? It'll be good to have firewood during the winter.

"..."

Rose said that giving each homeless person a booster is more effective than giving them books to enrich their spiritual world.

Kenneth unfolded the tattered notebook and carefully sketched a rune on it, stroke by stroke.

The runes are not too complicated, consisting of 18 strokes in total.

After finishing writing, Kenneth looked up at the racetrack:

"Did you remember the order of the strokes I just wrote?"

Rose nodded. A strong memory was one of the bonuses of high rationality.

"Sculpt this rune in your mind. This rune means 'wind,' and it's a declaration of a part of storm magic."

Seeing that Rose seemed confused, Kenneth added:

"Low-level magic generally consists of three parts: the first part is the declaration, the second part is the property change, and the last part is the casting."

"The declaration is what kind of magic you are going to cast. For example, this [Air Compression] belongs to storm magic, and its declaration is [Wind!]."

Kenneth then drew another rune, this time with more strokes, a total of 32 strokes.

"This rune means 'condense, compress!' It belongs to the category of property change and can compress air."

Finally, Kenneth turned the page and drew the last rune for [Air Compression], which consisted of 13 strokes.

"This rune means 'Release!' and it represents the final release part."

"These three runes together constitute the first-circle Storm spell, [Air Compression]."

Seeing that Rose seemed to understand, Kenneth continued:

"As for why I made you memorize the meaning of each rune, the first ring is fine, the second ring magic is generally composed of about 10 to 130 runes, and the third ring is composed of 100 to 600 runes."

"If it's just simple memory runes, it's too obscure."

So the magicians disassembled and modularized each rune, and gave each rune annotations.

This makes the originally irregular runes easier to remember, summarize, and even use as a basis for creating new magic.

Rose thought for a moment and then understood: magic is just like code.

Each stroke in the notebook is like a combination of 0s and 1s in a computer.

A rune is a programming language composed of 0s and 1s.

If programmers were simply asked to memorize the permutations and combinations of 0s and 1s, it would be obscure, difficult to understand, and hard to comprehend.

However, if you combine several 0s and 1s into a programming language, the difficulty of understanding it drops sharply.

Thinking of this, Rose nodded and said:

"I see."

Kenneth, regardless of whether Rosselled truly understood, said to Rosselled:

"Now, visualize the first rune in your mind: 'Wind!'"

Rose recalled Kenneth's writing order and, with her high level of rationality, easily sketched out the first rune in her mind.

As the runes were drawn, Rose's senses were amplified, and the surrounding flowing air and the dust suspended in the air became clearly visible in his mind.

After Rose finished sketching, Kenneth pointed to the end of a stroke slightly to the lower right of the center of the first rune and said:

"Immediately, sketch the second rune here!"

Rose glanced at it, then began to sketch the second rune, "[Condense, Compress!]," at the spot Kenneth pointed to.

This rune is significantly more difficult than the first one, but for Rose, with a sanity of 38, it's a piece of cake.

Runes rapidly formed in his mind, and Rose felt the surrounding air gathering in his palm before slowly beginning to compress.

Finally, the runes were drawn, and an air bullet took shape in Rose's hand.

Then, Kenneth pointed to the end of a stroke in the upper left of the second rune and said:

"Continue to outline the last rune here."

The last rune, "Release!", took only 13 strokes, and Rose finished drawing it in just a few seconds. He involuntarily raised his hand, palm facing the wall in front of him.

"boom!"

The air in the palm was launched out rapidly, not in a completely straight line, but in a spiral shape.

The sound of flight was very soft, like the sharp hiss of wind blowing through narrow rocky peaks.

The next moment, the air bullet, released from its grasp, slammed into the wall like an arrow.

"boom!"

Immediately afterwards, spiderweb-like cracks appeared on the wall, centered on the point of impact!

Rose calmly opened the panel, and the focus on the panel decreased by 4 points, which meant that he could release it a maximum of three times.

Rose approached the wall and touched the cracks in it. Rose could feel a slight air seeping out of the cracks, accompanied by a faint hissing sound.

That's the phenomenon where compressed air is forced into the gaps after shattering the wall, and then slowly escapes under pressure.

Rose smiled from the bottom of his heart, which meant that he finally had the power to use legally without revealing his identity as a believer!

Kenneth smiled as he looked at the destruction Ross had caused and said:

"The rune connection process wasn't smooth, and the outlines were rather clumsy, but your innate, abnormal rationality made up for it quite well."

Even on the first use, there's usually around 28 or 29 points of correction.

"It seems your sanity is much higher than 30 points, at least 34 or 35 or higher, even approaching the level of a 2nd-circle mage."

"To possess such talent at just 6 years old, she's truly a born magician!"

Rose didn't care that Kenneth had already determined his approximate level of sanity. He took out the enhancement potion from his pocket and handed it to Kenneth.

Kenneth's eyes lit up when he saw the enhancer, and he snatched it from Rose's hand in an instant.

He gripped the enhancer tightly in his hand, his cloudy eyes scanning Rose's chest.

"Kid, didn't you say you had one more? I still have some magic spells suitable for you, one spell at a time."

Rose looked up at the already darkening sky; the bakery would probably close soon.

He shook his head and said:

"I have other things to do, so I'll just learn this one today. After all, you can't bite off more than you can chew."

Seeing Rose's resolute attitude, Kenneth shook his head regretfully and said:

"If you want to learn magic, come to me. One enhancement potion equals one spell. I'm telling you, there's no better price. You know..."

Seeing that Kenneth was about to launch into another long rambling about his peak experiences, Rose quickly said goodbye and hurriedly left.

Kenneth sighed and shook his head, somewhat bored, as Rose left.

He then showed his arm, which was covered in needle marks, and skillfully injected the strengthening agent into it.

Immediately afterwards, a smile involuntarily appeared on his chapped face as he lay down on the ground.

"Delia..."
